Bedroom was ok
Sheets were clean
Lots of cupboard space
Food was poor, breakfast experience definitely not worth the money, staff don't smile, hotel looks jaded.
Staff wearing all black not very inspiring
Especially not the jogging bottoms
Ceiling over bath very stained
Some fresh flowers in the foyer and a bit of oomph from the staff might have helped a bit

The size of the room & the sea view. The position of the hotel was excellent.
Breakfast was disappointing - the toaster took 4 attempts & still didn’t brown the toast.Coffee poor quality - mushrooms hard & poor quality sausages. We had a meal in the restaurant but sadly that too was very poor.Hard chicken over cooked seabass microwaved veg.The kitchen needs sorting out - there seems little evidence of even average skills there. The hotel itself is showing many signs of wear & tear it needs a revamp.

I am so happy with my stay and I have stayed 3 times staff are amazing and my last stay was a little disappointed because I was given a room with loads of damp on the ceiling and they moved me to another room and that room had damp to but I did not want to complain and I paid more money this time than the other two times I have stayed so was a little upset but I will still be booking again next in 3 weeks as I love the hotel but I would love it if I could get a discount for the rooms I had to stay in with damp
Damp ceiling and damp walls

No glass in the bathroom. Those of us who need to take pills need a glass for water.

Breakfast was more than adequate.
Found doors shutting at 11 wuite strange, but it didn't detract from our stay.

Food wasn’t great and overpriced

The sea view, the reason I booked. Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view. Excellent breakfast.
The shower. Needed a new head. Just like a small tap and very difficult to adjust.
8.0
Good location close to the sea, for walks. Good breakfast and decent evening meal.
Parking close is a bit of a lottery; hotel is a bit frayed around the edges so looking a little tired in places, particularly the bathroom.

Beautiful interior, comfortable, large suite with view of the sea. The staff....the night porter opened the bar for us so we could have a night cap. Restaurant and bar staff go that little bit further. I was very pleased the bedroom was cleaned as I haven't had that since lockdown. All in all brilliant value for money. I will book again
Breakfast, specifically the coffee, but I'm just fussy. There was plenty of it, and hot. Needs a lick of paint in some areas but the decor was really nice

The Royal Victoria is a grand old hotel with loads of old-style charm. Our room was very spacious by modern standards with some nice modern furnishings. It was a quiet and comfortable stay. The breakfast had a good range of choices.
The old building has seen better days and is now showing a bit of wear and tear but this didn't affect our stay.

For the price, the room lacked basic facilities you'd expect from this type of hotel. The shower water struggled to reach your body, & the bathroom tiles were showing loads of mould.
Bathroom & bedroom facilities.

A lovely hotel, great staff, good food, good value for money. I would recommend this hotel. A great location just across the road from the beach.
Everything was good can't complain.

Room was spacious, clean and with an amazing view. We loved our stay so much we extended it.
The atmosphere was very relaxing, staff were polite, happy and very helpful.
We loved the location.
We were delighted with the stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are several local restaurants nearby, and generally is located very close to the sea front. It's probably easier to get off one stop before Hastings if you are travelling by train.
The room was generous and large (suite), though very old-fashioned, cold and overall uncomfortable (including the bed). We are not sure when it last had an update. It was very dusty and there was a moth infestation in our room.
The breakfast and food in general was terrible, badly prepared and tasted horrible. The interior, including sun bleached plastic flowers, are in urgent need of an upgrade. Food stains over the wall in the breakfast room.

The hotel is beautiful, incredibly clean and the room! I think it was a basic room but it was spacious, clean, well decorated and we loved it.
The breakfast was lovely, well presented buffet style and lots of options.
We found the bed amazing- so comfortable, and crisp clean bedding is always a huge plus.
The hotel itself is pretty amazing, well decorated and lovely plaster mouldings, some lovely art work and chandeliers make it look wonderful.
Staff are polite, happy to help and smartly dressed.
The only thing we didn’t like was the lack of parking. Although the staff pointed out a car park that was £7 for 24 hours

The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. I had ordered 2 bottles of alcohol-free wine to be kept at the bar for me and everyone was aware of this.
Very small niggles. Pillow too hard and one had to be a contortionist to reach the loo paper.

This our second stay at the Royal Victoria and it definitely won’t be our last. I love the history, the architecture and grandeur. It’s spotlessly clean, the beds are extremely comfortable with crisp cotton sheets and the view of the sea from the bar and restaurant are just beautiful. If you can be respectful of the Royal Victoria’s age, then you will have a wonderful time.
I love everything about the Royal Victoria

Proximity to venue where we were going to a party.
A little dated and no sea view!

What a lovely sea front hotel full of Victorian charm. We booked a family room which had a proper sea view. The room was comfortable with a double bed, two single beds and en-suite. We had dinner in their restaurant and breakfast the next morning, both meals were tasty. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Not a dislike, but as with all aging properties, there is wear and tear and it's located in a slightly more run down area of the town. Also be aware that the hotel is quite a walking distance away from the main attractions.

It was open.
The hotel is under staffed, clearly. It badly needs investment. It was my wife’s birthday, I ordered flowers for our room (when booking) they weren’t there. In fact a birthday card was given to reception a day before our arrival by a friend, my wife had to ask for it 3 days later when we met up. It was still at the desk in full view of any staff member. Overall the hotel is well below par but has massive potential if run properly.
