We were given a room in the main building which had a superb view of the gardens etc and the four poster bed, duvet and pillows were extremely comfortable and of a high quality, plus the room was immaculately clean and presented. Everything in the room worked well, plus a very good shower.
Nothing really!

Historic ambience.
Lovely staff.
Excellent breakfasts.
Great value for money
Tough climb to the carpark.
Mews rooms getting pretty dilapidated - broken window catches, ancient shower, cracked tiles.

Excellent cleanliness, with comfortable quiet rooms.
Fabulous food

The Wood Norton is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view very close to the Cotswolds. As a BBC training venue it has a great bar. The terraces with beautiful gardens are great. The house itself looks very good too. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They are also quite young and some of them being trained. What they lack in experience has to be made up by being helpful and cheery.
The main building although historic, looks very good on the inside. The bar area is very nice. there are a lot of rooms in a separate building. These are spacy but a bit outdated. A small investments in better lamps would help. Also a fan on hot days would be helpful as there is no airconditioning. The bathroom could use an update as well.

Nice location and nice building. Good facilities and bar.
Breakfast was slow and disappointing. The couple next to us likened it to Fawlty Towers. The bedroom was loud with some kind of generator or air conditioning unit working. It’s is next to a retirement village which isn’t represented on the photos.

lovely setting, grounds and building.
restaurant choice seemed somewhat limited and pricey for meals delivered

Very nice place!
Building where I stayed was nice but secondary

The food was excellent. Both dinner and Breakfast. Service was excellent. Large room and shower room.
As a light sleeper on Room 106, I found the noise from the air conditioning unit or perhaps heat pump outside rather loud.
No itemised bill offered. No morning newspaper offered.

Excellent location, quiet room with good facilities, The Main Bar area was well maintained & had a really nice atmosphere.
Overall we thought the hotel was understaffed. There appeared to be 3 or 4 staff members doing everything & they were run off their feet.

Friendly reception, good breakfast. the location was perfect.
Our room was not in the main building so we had to go outside, around a corner, up a slope, through a courtyard and then upstairs! Unfortunately, (not the fault of the hotel!) it was freezing, even the fountain was frozen!

The breakfast was really excellent, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We requested a rubber bath mat from Reception, and it was delivered in no time. Our room was adequate and clean with nice toiletries and good tea/coffee facilities.
We were disappointed to be in the stable block, having registered in the grand old building.
Dinner was vastly over-priced. We only ate in their restaurant for the first night!
We had expected to be nearer the town centre.

Good choice of breakfast ingredients. However, we were a party of 4 and the tables were 2 chairs opposite a fixed bench type seat. This made it difficult to get in and out to obtain different foods, etc. There seemed to be various BBC staff who were pretty noisy making not the most pleasant start to the day.
My husband and I had stayed at this hotel a few years previously and had been impressed by all we had experienced. Thus, we had suggested to my brother and his wife to stay there when visiting family locally - my brother and I had grown up in the Evesham area. Our dinner on the 2nd night was disappointing: the main course was not good. 3 of us had haddock and chips, the batter was not bad but the chips were huge as was the portion so we were unable to eat many. The 4th of us had chicken and most of that was left uneaten. This all compared unfavourably with how things had been not so long ago.
Further, we had requested and had received confirmation of twin beds in our room. This did not happen. And I did not make any reference to free parking when making this booking.

Wonderful and friendly staff with a good sense of humour. The wet room in our room met my wife's needs.
Having spoke to the hotel and asked about lifts and rooms with seperate showers and baths, prior to our visit, I was informed they could not meet my request. My sister who we met up with, and had a room inside the main hotel, had a stand alone bath and a shower. This would have met both my wife'd needs and mine.
The decor and overall look of the hotel is a little tired and in need of decorating. Also a need for a gardener. And for the main entrance, well not inspiring. Also it clearly states drop off and disabled only outside reception. As my wife is registered disabled it doesn't help when staff and idle guests use these facilities and prevent those who are registered disabled using them. As for the quality of the meal, I'm sorry to say it really wasn't very good.
