Very friendly staff. Ideal location in the middle of the forest.

The property is a wonderful piece of rainforest. The focus on preservation and education is exemplary. The rooms are basic but comfortable overlooking the forest. Saw many birds around the paths leading to the lodge and on the walks in the reserve. Restaurant serves simple, tasty food and is reasonably priced.

The trails, the rooms all was perfect.
Nothing
4.5
Perfect location for walks in the nearby rainforest, guided tours available, very good breakfast, very nice restaurant. Free entrance to the trails across the hanging bridge, lots of birds and other animals, even to watch from the rooms terrace.
4.5
I love that it was in the middle of a rainforest. it was full of nature sounds and trails and everything you can imagine when it comes to being one with nature.
We had a great patio where we got to watch birds and see frogs all from inside our room. The patio is really nice and peaceful as well.
Breakfast is included, and you can check out the trails as early as 6 am. Activities are extra.
Nothing. The wifi wasn’t the strongest, but like who needs wifi when you’re in this beautiful space?
5.0
On the edge of the rainforest but easily accessible by bus.
Comfortable
Surrounded by beautiful gardens full of birds
A short walk over a long suspension bridge straight into the rainforest
Reasonable cost tours. I highly recommend the bird tour led by William - brilliant
Limited restaurant. I recommend turning right out of the drive and walking (no pavement) a few minutes to a roadside soda with great food and a friendly welcome
4.5
The rooms are spacious, clean, good beds, there's a safe, WiFi works, good breakfast. Excellent service at the reception. We took the most of our short stay, walked the trails, took the guided night walk and some of us took the chocolate tour in the morning. Knowledgeable guides, wonderful forest, saw amphibians, birds, iguanas, sloths. A place to come back to.
Unfortunately there was a group of teenagers staying there the same night and their party was pretty loud since our rooms were close to the restaurant area.

The Tirimbina forest walks really did reveal a decent amount of wildlife - various types of monkeys (lots of howlers), bugs, frogs, etc. We have seen a number of forests in CR and this was one of the more rewarding ones. As for the room - they were fine - spacious but a little basic. Breakfast too was "fine" - not great but not terrible either. The main things are the nice forest walks (and other nearby activities like fun white water rafting).
Bathroom a bit dark, furnishings a little basic / tired. But it was clean enough.

Lovely to have access to the rainforest paths. Staff were friendly. Food & hotel all basic but functional.
Not the best communication from the hotel who actually put us in a room at the neighbouring hotel (without telling us or checking in advance that this would be fine for us). The room was fine and it meant we had access to that hotels pool a well as all of the Tirinbina hotel but the room was very basic despite being large and did not have all the same amenities as the room we‘d actually booked at Tirimbina so they should have checked it was ok before just putting us in there. It was a shame not to have had tea & coffee facilities in the room.

Very welcoming and friendly people. The entry to the private rainforest is included.

Jungle can be accessed via a long hanging bridge.
Very good buffet breakfast.
Nice gardens.
Wildlife
Our room was number 25, too close to the road so somewhat noisy.

Perfectly located, with a private rain forest. As a guest you have unlimited access to it. There are plenty of birds and animals around. Very comfortable room with a small terrace and a large bathroom. Staff very helpful. It is worth going on a night tour - we saw a lot of animals! Among the surrounding hotels, this one is probably the best!

Animals all around the lodge (sloth, frogs, snakes, monkeys, iguanas). The park was beautiful. Staff was very kind.
Lots of construction going on but that is a temporary thing I guess

We enjoyed our stay very much. Lodge is located in secondary rain forest and suspension bridge connects it to primary forest. We saw a lot of animals: monkeys, sloth, frogs, toads, spiders, lizards, birds. Lots of walks to choose from.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is well organized. I highly recommend this place.
We did a night tour which was well worth it.
3.5
Breakfast: good variety and quality
Location: best, right at the entrance of the reserve. Also free entrance to reserve was a plus. Otherwise very few things in the area, more remote, in nature
We liked that we supported the reserve. It seemed that this place was much more for nature lovers than for people seeking very comfortable accommodation
Staff: very kind, smiling and helpful
We had cancelled the room and re-booked with new decreased price, which was good because the original price would have been quite high compared with the facilities we received
Room was rather bare, did not feel very "deluxe", in the photos there was furniture in the room but in reality it was quite basic
Bathroom was old, could be much cleaner
4.5
staff, next to the park, breakfast, internet on rooms

Es parte de la reserva biológica! Un lugar precioso, a penas para despejar la mente con tanta naturaleza. El trato del personal es espectacular

Directly at the rain forest. Free entry to the forest tours
even without a guide possible.

Tickets to the reserve are included and you could always go in

Great location on the edge of the Rainforest.
Lots of options for tours. Chocolate tour was great!
The standard rooms have poor sound proofing, wf could hear our neighbours conversation in detail..
4.5
Clean room, excellent dining facility, fantastic location for bird/animal watching & suspension bridge.
Room is a bit dark.

Breakfast was fantastic (although it didnt start until 0700) and lunch/dinner were all great options and reasonably priced. The room A/C was adequate and was needed during our stay. The staff (everywhere) was very courteous and we felt very welcome. We scheduled just one tour at the resort (the early morning bird walk) and William was exceptional - and it was the least expensive birding tour of the 5 we took during our vacation to Costa Rica. Access to the Reserve (over the suspension bridge) led to great opportunities to hike, but we saw more bird species just birding on the resort side since the forest made it difficult to spot birds.
We had unit #23 - a double bed unit with its own bathroom and a private patio with two Adirondack chairs. Unfortunately, the bed made creaking noises if there was any movement and the wall between units was thin enough that we could hear our neighbor's conversation and snoring at night. There is only seating in-room for 1 person and while the option is to sit on the covered patio, bring mosquito repellant if you will be sitting outside as there were plenty of mosquitoes during the wet season. Overall, these comments are merely expectation-setters and NOT significant given the exceptional positives.

The hotel is located at the edge of a beautiful national park. We had access to the park which was great. The room was basic but clean. There was an air-condition in the room that worked well. The breakfast was ok.
Unfortunately despite the nice setting of the hotel at the edge of the forest, there is a patinoire (something like skating I believe) operating in the nights very close to the hotel, with loud disco music that could be heart even inside the rooms. This destroyed the whole feeling being so close to nature. Of course the hotel can not be blamed, but i found it very strange that this kind of activity was allowed so close to the protected area.
There is a restaurant that serves breakfast and other meals that closes at 8.00 pm. This limited the possibilities for a meal or drink after that time.
There was no internet the 2 days we were there due to a problem of the supplier. The receptionist was kind enough to help us as we really needed to book tickets and needed wifi.

Clean, well located (in main road), nice staff, great breakfast, AC in rooms, enough room space. being located inside the wildlife reserve is a big plus. parking lot is spacious.
wifi goes on and off on some devices, however, this allows you to disconnect and enjoy nature!
