Town: Dating back to the 11th century, Broughton-in-Furness is situated in the south western corner of the Lake District and is just six miles from Coniston Water. There is much to please the visitor such as a pretty, cobbled square complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs and homes, many of them Georgian in origin. The village provides an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley and the quieter Lake District fells. Norman Nicholson, one of Britain's finest 20th century poets and William Wordsworth, both immortalised this area in their writing and poetry. The village was home to Branwell Bronte, brother of the Bronte sisters, for a short time.

Fabulous quirky old cottage with beams. If you are looking for a quiet get away then this cottage is for you. The hot tub is a welcome sight after a day exploring. Massive living room with plenty of seats for all to socialise together. 4 big double bedrooms, one with the most original ensuite ever!
All the mod cons you need for a stay in the Lakes.
Being on a working farm you get a few furry and feathered visitors, all who are really friendly.
Will definitely visit again.

The farm is very untidy. The rubbish was a disgrace. Some of the furniture needs to be replaced. A tumble dryer would be very useful. Potentially a lovely place. All our family enjoyed the hot tub.

Large farmhouse on a working farm / campsite in a fabulous location. Amazing moon rises over the valley, with the camp fires of the other guests. Relatively easy walks in to the local town or a shorter but more taxing hike over the hill to the nearest pub.
The farmhouse needed some minor maintenance but suited our needs well. The owners who are on site in an adjoining house were very happy and helpful.

Perfect rustic getaway from it all on a working farm
Want to stay in a 300 year old farm cottage on a working farm in the middle of nowhere, where a warm welcome awaits then I can't recommend highly enough! The ducks and the farm dogs even come and check you're ok.
Hot tub and well equipped kitchen, large lounge and spacious bathrooms- back 2 days and already planning to return
