The breakfast was great and had several options to choose from. The location was walking distance from the city center and also a close enough drive to many excursions for exploring the beautiful areas of La Fortuna has to offer.
The rooms were very thin and it was very loud when people were nearby your room (ex. parking cars, door closing, etc.) Need to make sure there are working soap dispensers in the showers.

The typico breakfast was my favorite of my 4 mornings there. The housing was very traditional and worth the value of the stay.
The rooms were quite basic but worth the price.

The rooms are individual little cottages with lush gardens. Each cottage has its own outdoor ‘front porch’ with seating. It’s very private because of all the plants and flowers. Wonderful views of Arenal Volcano, especially from the pool area because there is a cow field beside so the view is unobstructed.
The cottages are rustic but extremely clean and comfortable. Ours had a large fridge with a freezer compartment and a huge shower with abundant hot water. It was the best shower we’ve had in our past 4 months of travelling in Mexico and Costa Rica.
It’s a family owned and run hotel. The owners were very helpful, explained the area and various tour options. Booked us an excursion at a better price than we had found elsewhere, same tour and same tour company.
Breakfast was included and was very tasty.
The hotel is in a great location. Big grocery store just down the street, lots of restaurants within walking distance and two nature trail parks almost next door to see sloths and other wildlife. We did the Bogarin Trail with a guide and it was amazing.
Only two small things, very minor.
1. Nowhere to put things in the shower except the floor.
2. No bedside lamps so you have to get out of bed before going to sleep to turn off the ceiling lightbulb.

Very nice hotel, all little bungalows. we appreciated the privacy. Lush tropical garden, swimming pool with volcano vieuw. Very nice breakfast. Staff is very friendly. The hotel is not in the centre but its at 15 min by walk. Reception can get you a taxi.
Will be going back. Rustic hotel. We had an armadillo in front of our bungalow and saw a toucan while swimming in the swimming pool.

location (great view of the volcano) and the pool as well as breakfast was included
holes in the wood paneling on the walls, because they are cabins, allowing bugs to come in

Great view, nice pool, right next to the sloth places. Large rooms, fridge really handy. Breakfast great! Supermarket near by.
No kitchen to use, however could ask for plates/knife etc. A little walk into town.

Good location.
Friendly ladies at the restaurant.
Some mosquitoes and no net.
Breakfast was average.

Well priced. Beautiful setting, hummingbirds, lovely view of the volcano. Walkable to town, next to a great steakhouse. Included breakfast was a great way to get the day started. Big shower, AC kept us nice and cool.
Check in felt a little awkward, needed to push a little to get issues taken care of (a room with broken toilet or non-functioning AC were offered). It was rustic, with gaps in wooden walls. Noise and bugs came in freely. Not a big issue overall. A safe or more spaces for belongings to be stored might have been nice (no true closet in smaller units).

good breakfast, nice pool with view of the volcano and cows wandering by in the field. Close to restaurants. Nice to have our own little cabin.
Really need hooks to hang up towels in the bathroom. 4 people with clothes and towels everywhere. is a mess. That would be a big improvement.

The villas were great. We loved that they were individual and private and quiet. You could see the volcano from our front porch! Service was great.

Close to tourist attractions, several within walking distance or short uber ride, private cabin with balcony and view of Arenal. Two large double beds. Excellent restaurant for evening meal. Lots of birds and wildlife nearby, and thermal springs. Hot shower, small swimming pool near cabins.
Kitchen was only a fridge in the bedroom. Bought kettle, mugs and cutlery in local supermarket to feed ourselves and make tea with our own tea bags, as we are English and can't live without it

The location and view of Arenal is brilliant. It is possible to walk into town, and we managed to get an uber over to thermal water pools at termalitas. There is a supermarket right next door and restaurants etc nearby which is convenient.
The breakfast was *okay*, with 3 options, Costa Rican, American, or just fruits. They seemed very apprehensive to deviate from the menu but the food was okay. There are other restaurants that were good within walking distance.
The room was fairly basic, although it has a TV and fridge which is good. The huge bathtub looked good, and looked like a jacuzzi, though that didn't work. We had a short stay but enjoyed it, particularly enjoying the location, views, and privacy. The room had AC, and plenty pillows and blankets.
We have had better breakfasts while staying in La Fortuna! This was quite cheap and convenient, though, and they let us have 2 coffees. We chased cockroaches out of the bedroom, but that's pretty typical in Costa Rica surrounded by nature.
We had extremely squeaky beds.

liked everything about it, especially being so close to the grocery store, 10 min walk to the centre.

Everything, literally. My friend and I woke up to birds serenading us and fell asleep listening to cicadas. The host gave us a room with a volcano view ( as requested) the free breakfast was always scrumptious, Wi-Fi was fast and we were at eleven minutes of downtown La Fortuna. Because of the way and place the hotel is built we also felt as if we were part of the community.Honestly, words are not enough, just go there. Pura Vida!

Good place, quiet and very close to the city center. Good breakfasts.
For my opinion the hotel is over priced. Maybe because Arenal is very touristic place.
3.0 / 5.0
The hotel and pool area has a great view of the volcano and good location to get to La Fortuna town center on foot. There is a lot of wildlife around the property. It had a fridge. The breakfast was OK.
The bathroom had a large old bathtub that didn't have the cork and a cockroach came through it from under the house inside our bathroom. After that I was paranoid that more would come in at night so I kept stuffing the bathroom rug into the empty hole in the bathtub. The whole bathroom is in dire need of refurbishment, it's quite disgusting. The house was quite dirty and AC had a lot of dust and mold. There was no kettle in the room as well which was disappointing and I had to walk all the way to the restaurant to get a thermos with hot water for tea. Only one source of light in the room was also quite poor.

The location is awesome because you have a perfect view of the Arenal Volcano while you are in the swimming pool. Also, the spot is what you are looking for if you want to spend time with yourself and with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
You can park right in front of your cabin.
They could clean the swimming pool regularly because when we were there we saw several insects in it.
Moreover, the Gallo Pinto at breakfast needed a little flavour.

All the items on my plate that should have been hot were only lukewarm- very disappointing.
The room could have been cleaner- cobwebs on the ceiling and floor tiles dusty.

The privacy of the bungalow, patio, fridge, breakfast and staff
The toilet ran requiring to lift lid and push on plunger

The houses are super sweet but sadly our house was not clean. Our light in the bathroom was not working.
When I go to bad I found a dirty bed linen.
In the night it was super loud because some random people where screaming and fighting. The host was super friendly and helpful but he need to check the room before if it’s clean….

The view of the volcano is super and the pool, cows next to the pool! The gardens are beautiful with lots of birds. The room was spacious, super air con and big fridge/ freezer. Close to town. The owner was so hard working, happy and really helpful. Nice breakfast. Extended my stay as was hard to leave this place...super

Great gardens, nice pool, huge bedroom and a jacuzzii f it had worked. The manager/owner was very helpful and a good breakfast was included in the price. Lots of parking if needed right outside the rooms
The outside light didn't work and wasn't repaired as requested, there was no other lights around so was needed. The jacuzzi didn't work but we weren't expecting one anyway but would have been a good selling point.

Great breakfast - good selection of options. Friendly staff. Great location walking distance to town.
Cold showers!
