About this cabin rental
This is it! Awesome and New to the Vacation Rental Market this Spring and no expense spared in all New beds, New Real Log Furniture and furnishings. Our goal with this cabin is to help you create family experiences and memories that will last a lifetime! The Deer Valley Cabin has the best of both worlds in that it offers end-of-the road location with a large pine studded lot but still close to town for all those last minute runs and restaurants (who wants to cook on vacation?).
Deer Valley has deck's for days and the outdoor space is unmatched, and you haven't even heard about the yard (or bunkhouse) yet.
You will enjoy your morning cup of joe as the sun rises on our wrap-around deck, its huge! Or, if you were the lucky one that got the upstairs Master East (twin masters) you have you own private balcony where you can see the peak of Mount Coolidge in the distance over the top of the vista of Lodgepole Pines so awesome!
CAMPFIRES? Yes! you have to abide by Black Hills Fire Rules if they are enacted for dry conditions but its there and add mallows! There is nothing better than sticky marshmallows, a campfire, family and the night sky (where you can actually see stars so bright...) I can hear the crackle and smell the fire right now, I love it!
Deer Valley has 3+ bedrooms, plus a bonus bunk bed room that adds more sleeping options...AND a detached Bunkhouse for those that want to just get away for a night (or the whole trip). The cabin has two bathrooms, one with tub/shower.
We want you to have a blast while in Custer and Deer Valley is geared for the utmost in family fun.
Are we close to the attractions??? Yes!!!....Mt Rushmore is 15 minutes, Crazy Horse is 5 minutes, Custer State Park is 8 minutes, Sylvan Lake is 18 minutes and the town of Custer is a little over a mile away. Deer Valley allows you to get more bang for the buck by being situated so close you can go to Rushmore by day and go back at night for the lighting ceremony (your ticket is actually an annual pass so use it).
We recently purchased Deer Valley and chose the name because our visits always included seeing deer. Have your camera ready as they sure do like to pose for pictures.
We are not new to Vacation Rentals as we have two other locations in Custer and are listed here as well. Check us out and look at our reviews. You will see that we are serious about providing the best experience we can for you and your family.

This was a perfect location for the Custer Rally. We enjoyed the fire pit and the house.

We had a wonderful stay at this property while visiting Custer and surrounding areas. The house was clean, comfortable, and close to everything!

Three-day four-wheeling trip. It's a few miles to get to the trails from the cabin, but it's a great location for having access to UTV rentals, restaurants, and the amenities of Custer. The cabin owner was great to work with and provided plenty of communication prior to our arrival. With 6 people in our party it would have been nice to have 2 full bathrooms instead of 1.5, but it didn't stop us from having a good weekend.

The pictures dont do this home justice! Beautiful home and property. We had 8 people (3 couples and 2 singles) and we were all comfortable space wise. The property owners are super accommodating and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay again!

This house suited our needs well. We were a group of 7 (3 adults and 4 kids) and accommodations were fine. Bedrooms were good sized and lots of closet space. Beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels and kitchen appliances/extras for us to use. I will say, if AC is important to you consider that there is no central air in this cabin. They have ductless AC units installed but not every bedroom has a unit. It was in the upper 80s at the beginning of our week and 2 bedrooms in particular stayed quite warm until the temperatures dropped a few days in. The king room upstairs doesn’t have its own unit and it hovered around 80° most of the time, even with the sliding patio door open, until the temperature outside dropped. There’s a bedroom downstairs, as well, that didn’t get below 75 until the temperature dropped. That said, there are several fans and it didn’t prevent us from having a good stay, but might be important information to have. Two of my kids are autistic and it’s difficult for them to sleep in environments that don’t mimic what they’re used to at home. Also, if you’re planning on using the bunkhouse, it does not have AC.
Firepit was lovely and the living room/dining area was just right for us. WiFi worked well! There’s a grill on the porch (we didn’t use) and lots of sitting space out there. The location was convenient to everywhere we wanted to be. I much prefer being close to Custer as opposed to Rapid City.

Our group enjoyed the location to lots of great destinations. We also found the fire ring to be big fun!

This older, rustic cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Custer. It has a large yard, which the kids loved, and all the amenities necessary for a great time in the Black Hills; very convenient to all the attractions. The owner is super easy to work with! We really enjoyed our stay.

Overall the stay was good. Other than it not being very clean when we got there. The bunkhouse wasnt usable unless you wanted to spend some time cleaning it out. First thing when you opened the door it was filled with dead flies. The owner was very easy to get in touch with and the beds were very comfortable. Was also a great location if you're looking to have peace and quiet but be close to town also.

Our family of 5 ( was supposed to be 6) really enjoyed this cabin. Was a good location to get to the town of custer and custer state park quickly. Had really good wifi also which is important for some. Very spacious and very clean. Not extremely remote but still plenty of animals and quiet. Would stay again

Great stay!
This home is charming and is in a fantastic location! It is quiet with an adorable little bunkhouse on property. We were greeted with deer and prairie dogs each morning. Julie provided all that we needed (including bottled water) and responded immediately to all of our questions. We would stay here again in a heartbeat for future visits to the black hills. Access to local grocery is very convenient and driving distances to all the fun towns and sites is very reasonable. This area is full of wildlife and a fun place to visit. It was so nice to visit some parks that don't have overwhelming crowds in the summer (compared to the other NPs) and you don't have to go far to have amazing views.

Perfect Location with plenty room for our group
Pleased to find a spacious house without neighbors right on top of us. Perfect location as a home base to see all the attractions. Wildlife present every day. The bunkhouse was an added bonus for my daughter to get some quiet time for homework.

Great Cabin right where we wanted to be!
This cabin was great! It’s just down the road from Custer. It had more than enough space for our family of 4. Our boys loved playing in the backyard on all the rocks and in the trees. We saw a lot of wildlife in the yard too! We had a great time in the Black Hills and this cabin was a great home base. The only down side was the dirt/gravel road to get to the cabin, but that seemed very common in Custer.

Awesome Home!
This was a wonderful property for a family vacation! The host was so helpful to answer questions about the home and area prior to and during our stay. This inviting home super clean and has everything you need and more (super comfy beds too)! The quiet area, close to downtown Custer, was a perfect setting for us to unwind, unplug and relax. It was the perfect location to easily access all that the Black Hills has to offer. I can't wait to visit and stay again!

Family Vacation
Nice place for the 8 of us to vacation together. Kids loved the bunk beds. Nice sized dining room, lots of room in bedrooms for our stuff. Bathroom "sharing" was a little odd, but we worked around it. A lot of yard area for the kids to play and the adults to relax.

Two families met in the middle at this nice house! Due to the weather we weren’t able to utilize the fire pit but otherwise we enjoyed the experience very much. The location was great and the house was very comfy and cozy. Thank you so much!
