A quaint and authentic Japanese lodge with the option of Western (1980s kitsch) or traditional rooms. Chris-San is a happy, friendly and helpful host, who offered to transfer us to and from Hakuba Station and puts on a delicious set breakfast. Facilities are ideal: on-site onsen downstairs and massive drying room for your ski gear. and the location? over the road from the slopes. Warm, dry, quiet.
This is not a luxury lodge, it’s a much better, more wholesome experience! Can’t fault it!

The staff was very friendly and ready to help even with non-contracted matters. Delicious Japanese cuisine: in-house cooked breakfasts and dinners. Great location - almost skiing to the door. Very nice common area with a fireplace and an electric massage chair.

Value for money was excellent, the staff were kind and so helpful. The breakfast, traditional Japanese was exceptional! Location was perfect, just had to walk past one other lodge and you are on the ski run just above the gondola. The lodge was old and traditional Japanese, but clean and well cared for. The communal areas were cosy and the onsen was great.

Food - we had one dinner and it was excellent and affordable. Next time we will also try the breakfast!
Location - a few steps across the street and you are skiing down to the gondola.
The onsen was relaxing.
The room was warm with plenty of space for our family of four.
The ski locker room worked well.
Super affordable as well!
It's not fancy by any stretch, but I would come back. The owner was very patient with our not speaking Japanese.
The only things I would note are that the futon beds aren't exactly plush, and a fold out drying rack for damp clothes / towel in the room would be a helpful addition.

Amazing location with plentiful parking spots. Staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! Cannot recommend it enough. The beds were comfortable and room nice and warm!
Very traditional Japanese building that is older. You can hear people walking if they are above your room but we've definitely had this happen at newer hotels as well.
