This was was a great location for a larger group of friends. the beds were large, the bathrooms were plentiful, and the house had enough amenities to make an extended weekend comfortable. If you plan on cooking larger meals, the kitchen is a bit cramped, but we dined out most of the time and it was a non-issue. The only issue we had was with the front door lock, which requires the door to be lifted on its hinges to actually auto-lock. This caused a bit of a headache when trying to enter and even just use the front porch and have the front door closed, as the lock just cycles over and over unless the door is perfectly aligned. Beyond this, however, a great stay. Hosts are very responsive via email.

It was a nice and quiet cozy house

We had six adults and two young children staying at this home. It was comfortable and the lay out worked well for our group. It was an easy walk to The Grain Shed, and retail area that included a pizza place, coffee shop, and such. Also an easy walk to Grant Park for the kids. We enjoyed our stay!

Maybe better suited for a college party than a family gathering. Unstable flooring, stairs, no screens on any windows throughout the house, only “kid/toddler” utensils and dinnerware, couch seemed overused & saggy etc etc - list not commensurate of pricing, photos or actual location.

My siblings and I were in town for a funeral. This house fit the bill for being large and close to shops / downtown. However, we were very disappointed with our stay. First, I had a family member with mobility issues. I sent a message before booking asking if there were stairs at the entrance or on the first floor and was told there were no stairs to enter or on the first floor. We arrive to find 2 stairs to enter the building and the larger downstairs bedroom had 1 step. The person who needed a larger room was forced to sleep in the very cramped children's room with bunk beds. The downstairs shower is a corner stall shower which the person with mobility issues also struggled to use due to its small size. While this situation is unique, we felt mislead about the stairs. Second, we were visiting during a heat wave and the air conditioner didn't have enough force to keep the upstairs bedrooms cool. We roasted while the people on the first floor were chill. Furthermore, the Nest kept turning up to 74 degrees every 12 hours, so at midnight the AC would turn off. Since the sensor is downstairs, those sleeping upstairs were sleeping in more like 85+ degree heat. Third, the primary suite upstairs smelled slightly of a sewer. There is a pipe clean out pointing into the room which I suspect is the source of the problem and the reason for an air freshener plugged in next to it. Fourth, there were dark fingerprints all over the door jams and switches. I don't think they've done a good scrub of the place in a while which would be nice during Covid. The blinds were damaged in the living room and the smoke alarm was open without a battery in it. This place needs some TLC and then it would be great.

Over all this house met our needs for a 3 night stay. There were 7 adults that stayed here. They were all pleased with the accommodations. It was clean and a cute house. Here are the recommendations for your VRBO:
1) fix the peeling paint in the living room
2)make it perfectly clear that there are only bed spaces for 8. the other 3 will have to use matts or air mattresses.
3) It was not clear how to access the laundry facilities without and extra communication.
4) The guest staying at the property were unable to figure out how to use the TV.
5) The stairway going up to the upper bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is treacherous! My niece slipped coming down the stairs. You know what I mean.
Thank you for considering our suggestions which we believe will only enhance the experience of others that rent from you going forward.

The property is great for a family. The kitchen was great and helped for making Breakfast. The main bathroom shower did leak water and is small but everyone was able to shower.
Master Bedroom/Bath are great. Fans helped with the heat.
If would be nice if more towels were available and beach towels.

We were in town for our daughter's wedding, and the house made a great home base for all that we needed to do. Worked well for us as an extended family of seven adults. Our mom in her 70's wasn't comfortable with the steep staircase (and for young children a gate might be a good idea), but she was able to stay downstairs. Enjoyed the updated kitchen, bathrooms, and living space as well as the "old house" charm. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. Jeff was very helpful and responsive to questions. Would stay here again.

We had a large group that was easily accommodated. Wonderful area to explore. Great front porch to relax and and enjoy the evenings. I would definitely stay again!

We were so excited to find this home as we planned our trip for our daughters graduation. Our family is familiar with Spokane and wanted to stay somewhere in the neighborhood rather than in a downtown hotel room. The description of this home seemed perfect, including the 5 bedrooms it listed, and both front and back yards to enjoy time in. When we arrived the yard was incredibly overgrown, almost to our knees! When we entered the home we quickly saw rusted shower doors, dusty pillows, uneven flooring, one LESS bedroom than listed, and not enough towels for our family.
We reached out to Jeff regarding the lawn, 5th bedroom, and the towels. He told us no one was able to do the yard, but luckily someone came out within the first few hours so we could enjoy outside! The towels, however, he told us to wash or share among ourselves? The 5th bedroom that was previously mentioned in this homes description was also nowhere to be found and he told us it was never listed as such. We have since found and screenshotted that false advertisement which he still denies.
Overall this house is not what it is made to look like online. Had it not been graduation weekend at GU we would have left immediately, however space was limited and we were trying to make the best of this situation. This home has so much potential and is in an amazing neighborhood with great restaurants surrounding it! It is absolutely not "newly renovated" as described. We left this space feeling gross, which is an especially huge disappointment during a global pandemic.
Be warned, the accommodations, cleanliness, and host response is abysmal.

Great home away from home.
We have stayed at this property (and one other Jeff owns) a few times now and we appreciate that Jeff always has his house(s) clean and ready for us. We are especially appreciative since we spend most of our time in Spokane staying in, thanks to Covid, so staying at a place that is much like home well stocked with everything a person needs, including the kitchen is really very nice. We can all watch Netflix too. The beds are comfy, the neighborhood is quiet and the house is big enough that we all have lots of space. We come to Spokane regularly for medical reasons for our daughter and her appointments are always bright and early at 7 a.m. so having two showers to get ready quickly is really helpful. Jeff stocks his kitchen with all the pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses, bowls, paper towel, etc. a family could use and it is a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and fridge. There is a washer and dryer as well which we have used. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jeff!

My husband, daughter and I stayed at "Hip House" in Spokane for a couple of nights in October, 2020. We arrived after dark after an 8 hour car trip, tired, but found the house easily. Check-in was easy as the owner had emailed me instructions for accessing the house a couple of days before we travelled. He also emailed me a couple of times while we stayed at the house to ensure all was well and to give us the check out procedure.
My family really enjoyed our stay at Hip House. We had our choice of which bedrooms to sleep in with enough bathrooms to suit everyone and they were well stocked with towels, wash cloths, shampoo, hair conditioner, hand soap, tissues, a hair dryer and toilet paper. The house was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cups, cutlery, cooking utensils, towels, dish soap, paper towel, and coffee. I was able to cook all our meals in the house since the kitchen was well stocked. My husband loved being able to get up and go make himself a cup of coffee. The dishwasher was really great too.
The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was pleasant, and quiet, so we slept well. The house is located in an older part of Spokane and has the charm of the older homes built around 1920. However, it has been updated considerably so it has all the newer flooring, kitchen cupboards and appliances, furnace, bathrooms, washer/dryer, etc. one would expect in today's homes.
We had appointments and places to go during the day.
In the evening we enjoyed Netflix provided on the good sized screen T.V. provided in the living room.
We did end up using the washer and dryer provided. Our daughter is quiet allergic to many scents and the pleasantly scented linens/bedding provided by the owner caused her problems so it was nice to be able to just run them through the washer and dryer with our own laundry detergent for her. Problem solved.
Overall we had a very nice stay at this house and I would recommend it to others who would like a whole house to themselves in a quiet neighborhood. It was obvious the owner wanted to make our stay as nice as possible and we really appreciated the effort to make us feel comfortable and at home. I would definitely stay here again.

This home is a short driving distance to downtown and Gonzaga university. The home has three levels, with bedrooms on all levels. Each room had it's own quirks and charm. The hardwood floors and carpet appeared to be brand new. The kitchen was nicely updated with new appliances. This house has most of the basic accommodations and would easily fit 6-8 people at the dining room table and 4-5 around the TV. The TV does not offer any cable, but it is a smart TV with Netflix. We were thankful to find this property during COVID times where we were trying to stay off the beaten path. I highly recommend the bakery across the street. They have amazing fresh baked goods and coffee. We loved waking up early, grabbing a croissant and a cup of coffee and eating it from the front porch.
