About this house rental
This adorable cottage is open, light and spacious with incredible ocean views and a private saltwater pond! You can swim or float in the pond, launch a kayak or canoe right on the property. Relax on the large deck to watch the sunset, cook outside on the grill or star gaze at night! Watch the eagles, osprey, and sometimes seals and deer from the deck.
There are two bedrooms with new queen beds and organic bedding on the second floor, one with incredible waterfront views and the second with views out to the woods. We have recently put in large new windows and high ceilings to make rooms feel extremely comfortable. There is also seating in both rooms to comfortably read or have a cup of tea in your own space. The full bathroom is brand new in 2023, with a walk in shower, gorgeous vanity set up and new organic toweling.
The kitchen is remodelled with new appliances and everything you should need to cook daily. There is a beautiful breakfast nook and bar seating to watch the sea out the window as you drink your morning coffee or have an evening glass of wine.
The living room and dining room is open with lots of light, windows and original hardwood floors! The dining room seats 4 to 6, in front of the large windows with an ocean view. There is another small dining area outside on the terrace as well in case you want to eat right on the ocean.
The coveted Hancock Point spot is quiet and relaxing, but close to everything. Groceries, shopping, beaches, restaurants, tennis, sailing, hiking, are all close by!! For a day trip, you can get to Acadia National Park, and Schodic point in about 30 minutes. This house is ready to go for winter rentals as well and is perfect for a cozy winter stay. Cross country skiing in Acadia is a must do!
Please note the house is newly done with mostly white furniture so dogs and small children must be watched carefully if you are coming as a family.

This is a nice small home. If you are a tall person or a bigger person I would say this is not a place for you. The upstairs bedrooms have slanted ceilings and I found myself ducking a lot. Also says it is has air conditioning but not through the vents. There is a unit midway on wall to the upstairs to cool the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Forget about shutting doors to rooms if you want to stay cool. The bathroom door also does not latch, therefore my Velcro dog could always just lean on it to open it up and come on in. The chairs in living room are made for smaller people and the television is small. No blinds on windows upstairs so you can’t get dressed in your room. I booked this house for four adults. I am so grateful my other couple couldn’t come because it would have been a nightmare! I’m a bit critical because this is one of the most expensive homes I’ve had to pay for on VRBO and probably the least comfortable.
The owner is very responsive and definitely aims to please. The family is super nice. The owner is next door and her mother is across the street. This is a very nice little cottage. I just know that if I had this information before, I probably would have stayed somewhere else.

The house was even more charming & quaint in person! We really enjoyed the views and found it to be conveniently located to our vacation activities including Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor. The host was always quick to respond to any questions and we would definitely rent this house again if we were planning to revisit the area!

What a beautiful, light-filled cottage in a lovely setting. Cora could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The beautiful flowers throughout the house were a lovely touch. Highly recommend.

This vacation cottage is beautifully appointed, the owners have great taste. The location was quiet and peaceful. We loved going on walks along a nearby beach at low tide, reading on the comfy patio furniture, gazing at the stars or the misty bay from the bedroom window. The easy drives to Bar Harbor / Acadia or Schoodic Peninsula make for pleasant trips. Owners were responsive and kind (fresh flowers!). We really appreciated being able to have our dogs with us. It's a great spot for a deeply relaxing vacation.

My wife and I (along with our dog) recently stayed at the cottage. The house itself was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. The lawn provided some nice space for our dog to run. But the best part in our opinion was the beautiful deck with views of the ocean. When we were at the cottage we spent most of our time out there. Cora was also extremely responsive, communicative, and helpful both before and during our stay.
We fully recommend this spot and would absolutely stay here again!

Charming cottage with beautiful views! Close enough to drive to Bar Harbor and relaxing drive back “home”.

We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous property. Waking up each morning to a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the amazing bay view was a highlight for sure. It was so peaceful and quiet and we saw a ton of wildlife - deer, foxes, seals, herons and more all graced us with their presence during our stay. There's some neat history behind the house, as told through old photographs neatly displayed in the home. The property in nestled in between Acadia and the Schoodic peninsula so we had easy access to both for exploring and hiking. The hosts we very attentive and accommodating! We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a secluded Maine hideaway!

Restored cottage overlooking the bay was a welcome treatment while we traversed the trials and tribulations of chemo with the love of my life.
Immaculately finished, this home provided us a welcome respite sorely needed from Tennessee.
Cora, Elizabeth and Pelican were the perfect hosts and provided us all the information we needed during our stay.
Moonpie loved the walks to the shore and down the many less traveled roads adjoining us.

This was the nicest little cottage. The view is gorgeous and the street is quiet and safe. We stayed here and visited Acadia National Park. We loved that we could bring our pup with us. It was a very comfortable, cozy, place to stay and we would stay again if we made the trip back to Maine.

This adorable bungalow in Hancock is on a beautiful waterfront setting without the tourist hoards that seem to be near Bar Harbor. Great location- close enough to parks and cities to enjoy them for the day and escape back to the privacy of our cottage. The home is immaculate, and the owner has outfitted it with natural fiber linens ( the beds were super comfy) and great smelling biodegradable soaps. I’m looking forward to a second stay!

My husband and I absolutely loved our short getaway to Cora’s quaint cottage by the water. We brought along our sweet 5th born at just 6 weeks and all really enjoyed soaking in this amazing quiet retreat. The view is just breathtaking, we walked down to the water’s edge for sunrise and wished we’d had another day to just lazily enjoy the cottage and property but we went into Bar Harbor, ate tons of great food locally (thanks to Cora for so many recommendations) and hiked in Acadia. The house was incredibly clean, comfortable and cozy— the beds and pillows/linens were the best! Fell in love with walking outside the cottage into the crisp air and breathing in the overwhelming balsam fir smell in the air— just amazing!

This is the third year in a row we've been lucky enough to stay at this beautiful home in this incredible location.
The pictures don't do justice to how charming the house is and how peaceful the area is.
Our dog, who has joined us every year on our annual Acadia vacation, is almost 13 now and is very comfortable here. She enjoys snoozing on the deck listening to the ocean, and watching all the birds that stop by.
Cora is a wonderful host who is always reachable if we need anything.
We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when we're visiting Acadia National Park.

We loved everything about this home. The water front setting, the views from the deck, the layout of the updated home. If was close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor for day trips but away from the all the traffic and crowds. There are several great local Hancock restaurants and bars to enjoy . We hope to return !!

We had the best time at Cora’s home. Beautiful views, fantastic location for exploring Acadia, and wonderful local recommendations. The home itself is adorable and very comfortable. We would absolutely love to come back here in the future.

Lovely home in a beautiful location. The house was comfortable and well decorated, including fresh flowers in every room! The landscape was full of flowers and the view of the bay from the deck was fantastic. We explored Acadia and the harbor towns as well as the local sights including Tidal Falls and local Preserve trails. We would definitely return!

The best overall rental house we’ve ever stayed in!! The newly renovated, beautifully appointed and decorated house is so cozy and perfectly situated for ocean and sunrise views as well as stargazing that we did not want to leave!! The gardens and landscaping are so lovely and thoughtful garden arrangements were placed all throughout the house! Birdwatching was plentiful and quaint walks down the meadow pathway and through the woods to a little beach were charming. Hours were spent on the decks having meals, chatting and enjoying late afternoons gazing out at the gorgeous views!
Great location for getting to our favorite lobster lunch spot in Corea and hiking through Schoodic.
Everything you need is in the house and Cora is so quick to respond to messages and so easy and nice to deal with.
We will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area!!
Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven and labor of love with all of us! What a gem — well done!!!

We loved staying here! The house itself as well as the property is so peaceful and lovely. It was a great space, and Cora made everything so easy. It was fun exploring the local area and being a bit off the beaten path for Acadia. We will definitely be back!

Our family of four + dog had a wonderful stay at this quaint cottage in Hancock. Cora was very helpful and communicative. The setting is just gorgeous and we enjoyed eating out on the deck, playing with the dog in the yard, or swimming in the ocean/tidal pond. The location is convenient to MDI, Bar Harbor, and Acadia. A great family vacation!

I was looking for a relaxing getaway with my two dogs for my birthday and I fell in love with this area two years ago when I visited. This property is beautiful and the furniture/decorations and amenities were as perfect as they could be. From the cute historical pictures on the wall to all the quaint comforts this property offered was just what anyone would need. Waking up every morning to the beautiful view of the ocean didn’t hurt either! The host also provided recommendations for activities and restaurants that we took the time to see. She was also very accommodating and let us stay an additional day because I was going to be driving to New Hampshire where they just received all the flooding. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

We drove from Iowa to Maine to stay in this lovely cottage, and it was worth every mile. It’s located in a secluded area but still in close proximity to all the local sites, including Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and Schoodic Peninsula. Grocery and restaurants are also nearby. You can’t beat the views and relaxing vibes of the area. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had an amazing girls weekend at this beautiful cottage! The views were stunning, the house was so charming and Cora was a wonderful host. The location was central to everything we wanted to do in Bar Harbor and Acadia and the house was also perfect for a lazy rainy day at the cottage. Couldn’t recommend it more.

This home is lovely. Newly remodeled. Stunning view. The cleanest vacation home I’ve ever stayed in. Well appointed kitchen. Close enough to things to see and do but also away from it all and quiet.

I would give this 10 stars if I could! The home is breathtaking- updated, clean, and modern with a peaceful, antique ambience to place you right into a Barbara Cooney book- the way a Maine vacation should feel. Our family truly had the best time. My boys loved going down to the old rail tracks to make their obstacle course every day. We planned to be in Acadia for most of our trip but they would have been happy to spend their entire vacation exploring the waterfront! The drive to Acadia was about 45- 1hr each way depending on where you were going. There are also tide pools near the house to see starfish and seals, and at night there are a million stars to see.
We were also graciously allowed to bring our pup, which was truly a gift for our family. Checkin and correspondence with the owners was nothing but a pleasant experience, I could have chatted with Elizabeth for hours!
One of the best parts about this vrbo is that there was absolutely no checkout instructions required of you. No stripping the beds, loading the dishwasher, take out the trash- nothing. It was just peaceful from the moment you walked through the door until the moment you drove away. It's a very special place to rent from and if we visit Acadia again I will plan it around this home's availability! Thank you Cora!

The property and house were great; well kept and well appointed. It's a quiet street and area; away from the hustle and bustle of MDI. You can lookout on the bay and pond and witness a beautiful sunrise. It's convenient to the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia NP, MDI and Ellsworth. A relaxing place to get away.

The charm of this 100 year old cottage and the secluded ocean views made for a relaxing contrast to the busyness of nearby Acadia Park. We loved getting to know this charming area of Maine!

The cottage was very nice. When we arrived there several beautiful flower arrangements to greet us! A really sweet place.

This was a very sweet place, very dog friendly! Not too far from Acadia and great views along the way.
Would stay here again in a minute .

Classic New England coziness where the Maine Coast's beauty is the star of the experience. Dog-friendly property and neighborhood that was a perfect location near Bar Harbor and Acadia, but not busy and loud. Cora is a responsive host, who ensures a sustainable and comfortable experience. The local flowers in every room were a sweet touch!

Could not have been more pleased with my time spent at this charming cottage. The listing was just as represented if not better! Cora and Jamie were amazing hosts and felt like friends/family! I HOPE to get to stay here again someday ❤️

Even Better than we expected . . .
This property does not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, we relaxed. The location and beauty flipped a switch that said: "you're on vacation!" The house is welcoming and charming with an old time feel that also offers contemporary stuff we tend to need. The neighborhood is quiet. Yet there is lots to do nearby - Acadia just a 35 minute drive - as well as restaurants and local treasures like the Tidal Falls, walks, bird sightings - osprey, eagles, cormorants, herons - and glimpses of playful red foxes. We will definitely be back if we can. We loved this place!
Thanks to Cora and Jamie for being great hosts!
