Welcome to Sommarstuga! (The name means Summer House in Swedish). It's a private 3000 sq. ft. beachfront house on Great Herring Pond. Each bedroom boasts gorgeous water views. It's a perfect place to getaway without having to fight the traffic over the Cape Cod bridges.
Sommarstuga has central air and a fireplace with a big open floor plan, 2 full baths and 2 half baths, a walkout finished basement with oversized sliders on both decks. One with glass railings for an unobstructed view of the pond on the first floor and then on the lower deck, walk down the 3 steps onto your very own private beach. *The 80ft dock is only out between June and August.**
The Primary (Master) Suite is on the first floor and has a king size bed and double sinks in bathroom. There are two additional big bedrooms upstairs. One has a king size bed, the other has a full bed and a twin bed. All have beautiful views of the lake. The finished basement has a sleeping nook that sleeps 4, with a bunk bed and a trundle bed (all 4 are twin sized). Please note there are absolutely NO PETS ALLOWED. The owners are highly allergic to all pet fur/hair dander. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Enjoy your stay in this perfect beach house in close proximity to great restaurants, shopping and outdoor adventures! Bring your fishing rods to catch fish such as Smallmouth bass or White Perch. Rent a boat from allcapeboatrentals and tie it up to the 80 foot private dock. **The dock is ONLY IN THE WATER BETWEEN JUNE TO AUGUST.** Or bring your own kayaks to explore the 376-acre fresh water of the Great Herring Pond. The pond has an average depth of 20 feet and a maximum dept of 42 feet. It is beautiful in all seasons! You will never tire of the views.
You are 2 miles from a great golf course called, Atlantic Country Club. And you are also 5 minutes from Sagamore Beach and the Cape Cod Bike Trail. Visit capecodbikeguide for more information for outdoor adventure.
A short 7 minute drive gets you to the Sagamore Bridge to go to Cape Cod and the Islands where you can go to the town of Sandwich and dine at the fabulous Fisherman's View Restaurant or go to Hyannis to grab a ferry over to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.
Or you could stay on the mainland side of the bridge and go to Buzzard's Bay which is 15 minutes away from Sommarstuga with great restaurants like Eastwinds Seafood, Captain Al's Tiki Bar which has great views of the Bay,Mezza Luna for some good italian food or visiti our favorite called The Towne Tavern.
Maybe go north to the fabulous Plymouth Waterfront where you will find the historic Plymouth Rock and plenty of interesting museums and walking tours. There is great shopping on Court Street where you must go to Setting the Space. Dine at awesome restaurants on the waterfront like East Bay Grill, Tavern on the Warf or 71 West Atlantic Steakhouse and The Terrace Rooftop Dining all located on Water Street.
Or even stay very close to the house and visit the best breakfast place around called The Blueberry Muffin a mile and a half away in Cedarville.
And last but not least, if you feel like being pampered, The Mirabeau Spa is one exit north at Pine Hills.
We doubt you will want to leave the beautiful Sommarstuga, but if you do, there is plenty to see and do!

BOOKED THIS HOUSE FOR A FAMILY GIRLS TRIP. WALKED THROUGH THE DOOR AND WAS PRESENTED WITH AN AMAZING VIEW. THE INSIDE WAS SPOTLESS AND SPACIOUS YET EXTREMELY COZY AND WAS STOCKED WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. IT IS VERY SPECIAL TO BE WATERFRONT ON A POND SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN. LYNN AND BRIAN WERE EASY TO WORK WITH AND VERY RESPONSIVE. WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT SO MUCH WE BOOKED FOR NEXT YEAR THE SAME DAY WE LEFT. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

First, this home is gorgeous! It sits on a beautiful lake and no matter which room you are in all you see is water. Very relaxing. We enjoyed great restaurants and bars downtown. Great and needed weekend for a group of teachers. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Property is in a great location, perfectly situated at the north end of the pond. Very tranquil and peaceful. The house is gorgeous and was well equipped to suit our needs. Two full bathrooms with enough towels for us. 3rd bathroom downstairs is essentially a 1/2 bath because you can't use claw-foot tub (reasonable!). Owner provides toiletries such as hand soap at sinks, dish soap, etc.; bring your own shampoo, etc.. Paper products: TP, paper towells, kleenex supplied. Kitchen had dish coverings, S&P and sufficient cooking utensils, includes laundry soap too. The only item I found that would be helpful to have had: home instructions or information, such as the curtains on the 1st floor are automated by remote, furnace/AC is controlled by remote as well, etc.. I would definitely recommend this home! The owners are very attentive and approachable. We'd stay again for sure. Sue & Ken from Ohio

Wow ! By far the nicest vacation rental we ever stayed at. This place is spectacular . Brian and Lynn are great hosts and they have provided everything you would ever need. The view, furnishings, location , etc. are nothing short of awesome. We will definitely be back . Thank you Brian and Lynn for making our stay in Plymouth for our son’s wedding at Pinehills Country Club such a memorable one. Go Bryant Bulldogs !!!

This was our 4th annual mom's getaway weekend. By far it is the best house we have stayed in. so much so we want to come back next year! The view as you walk in, is so nice. The decor of the house is very pretty, beds were comfortable it was very clean. It's just a great place to stay at. great all around. If I had to add something I would have liked a pool table on the ground floor and maybe a hot tub for those chilly nights and this place would be absolutely amazing. Thank you so much to the Pearson's for letting us enjoy your beautiful home!

This house was pristine! Well stocked kitchen. Perfect location. The owners were nothing less then amazing. Would definitely rent again just for the views and comfy beds alone! Not to mention the master shower, huge kitchen table for games and family time, and the deck that got the perfect amount of sunshine.

We chose this property to have a "girls" weekend with my mom, sister and niece. The home is absolutely stunning and extremely well-appointed. Having rented many properties before, there is always a risk of the photos being better than the actual house - not the case on this one. The home was immaculate upon arrival, stunningly decorated, had everything we needed (and more), and was perfect for our long weekend. The views of the lake are expansive and wonderful. The location is also perfect as we didn't need to travel far for anything we wanted/needed. Lynn was very helpful and responsive with any of our questions. Thank you so much for a magical weekend!

Exquisite and very clean home with an incredible view of the water and cove, with your own little "beach", ducks and birds! Very peaceful setting and spacious comfortable home that feels extremely inviting with gracious and friendly hosts. Loved the fireplace and deck firepit, and enjoyed exploring the area and the Cape!

If you're looking for a beautiful getaway close to the Cape, look no further! Sommarstuga is absolutely breathtaking and a real escape. The house is wonderfully equipped with everything you need. Southern exposure gives the house sunshine all day, and the lake makes the property feels so expansive. Lynn and Brian are amazing hosts - nothing to improve upon, they are both so gracious and lovely! The house is a 5-7 minute drive to nearby beaches and super close to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. All in all, a perfect vacation experience!

Best vacation home ever!

My family had a great time at Sommarstuga. It is by far the nicest vacation home we ever rented! The house is cozy and sparkling clean, the beds are comfortable and the view is superb. We had three little children ages 5 and under with us and the shallow beach was perfect for them to splash around. We also had a blast paddling using the two kayaks provided by the hosts. At night we enjoyed roasting marshmallows outside on the deck at the outdoor fireplace (now I want one for my backyard!). The host, Lynn, was always available for all the questions I had.

Our family stayed in this beautiful lake home for the Thanksgiving holiday, and we had a wonderful time. Lynn was very welcoming - leaving coffee and chocolates for us - and the home was warm and comfortable. Just what you want for a relaxing famiky getaway. I can only imagine how marvelous the place must be in the summer months. We would absolutely return!
