Great location as long as you don’t mind climbing stairs from the town centre. Great views to wake up to!

The views from Out To Sea are breathtaking. The steps up to the house and from Lower Town to Above Town can be challenging (!) so pace yourself. The house itself is comfortable and light.
Obviously, you don’t go on holiday for the TV but some guidance on how to use the lounge TV would be useful. Not everyone will be used to the Amazon Fire Stick.

Overall we enjoyed our short stay at this delighted cottage. Lovely efficient company to rent from. It would have been good to have been warned how steep the roads to were with a 1 in 3 gradient on extremely narrow roads. It was very unfortunate that the people next door had a massive loud party in the evening making it impossible to sleep until midnight when they finally turned the music down. We had come to attend a funeral so it didn’t help our mood. But beautiful views from most of the windows. Also it was a bit cold in the evenings, the heating was either too low or not on for long enough a time.

Postman jumping over the wall and walking thro your table and chairs seems very rude and not ideal when your having breakfast outside ,the noise from the ensuit taps is quite noisy because of the pump and does disturb the other people in the house ,saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay the house was spotlessly clean ,the views speak for themselves we would definitely return

the view is really very nice, unfortunately there where noisily and dusty constructions at the neighbourhood going on. It was absolutely not possible to sit outside to enjoy the view. A friendly demand for a reduction of the rental price was completely ignored.
Is that the way customers should be treated?
The beds are under 2 meters long and more suitable for smaller people.

We had an enjoyable relaxing holiday at Out to Sea, Dartmouth. The information, communication and guidance by Dart Valley Cottages was excellent making the booking process and getting there easy and hassle free. The accommodation was clean and well maintained and matched our expectations. The view over the river Dart is stunning and we enjoyed dining on the outside terrace . We liked the location on the edge of town, it was quiet but only a short distance from a wide variety of pubs and restaurants. The road outside and parking is tight but we managed with an SMax people carrier and it got easier as the week went on.

The view is even better than the photos aboslutely breath taking and we'd return just for that! The master bedroom with the double doors opening up also was another treat.. seen some amazing sunrise's
A few minor things:
*It was a shame that the back garden is unusable as the sun does go from the front quite early. We did walk up there and its quite dangerous
*The dishwasher was left full on our arrival
*There is a smell of damp in the house especially downstairs
The building work and scaffolding made aboslutely no difference to our trip at all. There was no noise and it didnt ruin our view to the right.
Overall we had a brilliant time and were totally blown away by the view.
Thank you.

My fiance and I bought both our parents for a little get together in Dartmouth and we had such a fabulous time in the Out to Sea cottage. The interior is cozy and homey and the patio has the most stunning views.

Lovely location and view. House needs updating but was comfortable
Same as above lovely view could do with a bit more updating but still lovely. At the back shame we could not go up but all in all good holiday.

Out to Sea
The view is amazing! Perfect to see the key beauty of the Dart and neighbours were great and friendly. The location is also great but I have an Audi A1 and only just fitted down the very tight lane and into the parking bay. It’s extremely steep on and out of the lane.
The house itself was ok but damp in the lounge ceiling, basic stuff like cutlery set not enough forks for a family of 6 and the en-suite had a lot of mildew in and compared with some cottages my family have rented in Dartmouth this one didn’t feel as clean, as cared for or as well equipped.

Out to Sea
We had a wonderful stay at Out to Sea. The house is brilliantly located for the best views in Dartmouth, and the walk up and down to town was just enough to keep us fit after sampling some of the great local restaurants.
A couple of additions would have made it perfect - some more comfortable seating on the bbq terrace and it would be nice if the rear garden terrace was usable. Given the high rental cost some of the furniture really needs updating, but overall it is a lovely place to stay and well looked after.

Can't wait to return!
Out to sea is a lovely house with incredible river and sea views. The housekeeper is doing a great job. The house was clean and the towels and bed linen fresh. It is well equipped and there was ample room for our family of 5. Ideally located the walk into town is steep but short and we walked back and forth with ease. Having a parking space is a real bonus although the space is tight. A small to medium car is fine but anything larger would struggle.
The steps at the back of the house are very steep and not safe for children. The rear terrace was out of use during our stay which was disappointing as the front terrace loses the afternoon sun. If we were to visit in the colder months we would like to be able to use the log burner, we are not sure why it is for decoration only?
There also appears to be a problem with the ensuite shower which is leaking and the stains on the lounge ceiling and wall are apparent.
Overall we loved Out to Sea and would love to return. Dart Valley Cottages are always easily contactable and a pleasure to book with.

Out to sea
I would recommend Dart Valley cottages choice of property very comfortable and the views say it all. And parking space for one car is a real bonus, would come back again.

The most amazing views
We always stay with Dart Valley Cottages. Christine and Tom are so friendly and helpful. They have some lovely properties.
As we’re not that young and fit, we did find walking up to the property hard going, and didn’t move the car much as the roads to the property are very narrow. But this absolutely didn’t stop us having a lovely time. A big Thank you once again

1 week holiday
We had an enjoyable stay but with a few issues. Primarily parking is very tight, advertised as shared parking suitable for a medium to large car. My car is a Vauxhall Grandland and it would be impossible to easily park 2 similar size cars in the space provided. Fortunately, the neighbour we shared the space with only had a motorbike whilst we were staying. Also, on arrival we discovered a sign on the back door advising we could not use the steps in the back garden to the sun deck as it was unsafe and awaiting repair. This was very unfortunate because on returning each afternoon after sightseeing, the front patio was completely shaded and cool, whereas the decked area we were told we couldn't use was sunny! This was a disappointment as when choosing this accommodation, we felt having seating areas at the front and rear of the property, we would be guaranteed a place to enjoy some late afternoon/early evening sunshine. It was disappointing that nobody advised us in advance that the back garden was out of bounds, as we probably wouldn't have booked this property. On a positive note, the views of the bay from the property are exceptional and it's only a short 5 minute walk to steep steps leading to delightful Dartmouth and it's many amenities.

Fabulous
Out to Sea is a wonderful place to stay - this was our second visit and I hope we’ll be back next year. The cottage itself is lovely - spacious and with all the facilities you’d want - but it’s the view that really makes it so special. We were lucky with the weather so we really made the most of the terrace. The steep road can be a bit of a nail-biting drive but you quickly get used to it!

Another great stay at Out To Sea
We have stayed in this house many times. The views out to sea and over the river are fabulous. Out To Sea is a very comfortable house in a narrow lane aptly called Above Town. There are lots of steps up and down into Dartmouth town, but well worth it for the location. Already looking forward to our next stay.

Idyllic
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location with amazing views over Dartmouth. We had a wonderful stay in April 2021.
Visitors do need to be aware that it is a very narrow road and the shared parking is really only suitable for a medium sized car..

Fabulous stay
We had a wonderful stay at Out to Sea. The location is just amazing, with panoramic views of the whole Dart estuary from the living room and bedroom and lots of outside space. We found it a very comfortable and cosy house, with a well-equipped kitchen.
Quite a steep walk up from the town but totally worth if for the views! We definitely hope to go back soon

Great views
Great location in a clean and comfortable property. Unfortunately we had an issue with a constant leak from the shower in the ensuite to the main bedroom which was very noise and caused us disturbed sleep. Despite the best effort of the agent the issue was unresolved although we did manage a makeshift device to reduce the noise.

Excellent views
Excellent location and views. The property is well equipped and spacious.
Note the access road is only 6ft wide and the parking is only for shorter cars.
