Property was very nice. We rented the pontoon also, which was nice. There was a small beach area but weather wasnt in our favor during our stay.

Very remote, very woodsy. SO glad we were able to use the pontoon; puttering around the lake was so great. Hearing the loons at night did my heart good. We had 4 adults staying, and another couple from Cable day-visited. Plenty of room for conversation, hanging out, etc. One caution: this particular unit was second-story, over a garage, with lots of exterior stairs. This was not mentioned in the description, and anyone who has difficulty with stairs should not rent this unit. That said, our whole group did have a lovely time.

Great cabin and Scott was wonderful!

Description was as listed. Very clean property. Perfect for our 5 day stay. Remote from town but we didn’t mind! We also rented the pontoon boat. Scott was wonderful to work with and quick with responses to questions. Perfect northwoods experience and we enjoyed our stay very much!

Great place, as described...very cozy.

Very nice place. All the amenities and extras were nice. Just wish I knew it was up stairs over the garage. Bad knees and all. But made due. Everything was great! Thanks

We enjoyed every minute of our time at the Mohawk!
Everything was perfect!

The cabin was very clean and nicely furnished. Super cute. There are comfortable beds and a cozy couch and big chair to watch T.V. We saw a lot of does and fawns. We rented the Pontoon which was great! We explored the lakes and loved the boat. We caught, 1 Musky, several large and small mouth bass ,perch and panfish. Catch and release (for us). Hayward has a nice main street with many shops and we ate at the Steakhouse and Lodge ...good food. Scott was very responsive to questions. Overall, we loved our stay and it was too short!

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay very much. We had the whole place to ourselves which was very nice. We saw plenty of deer, rabbits and ducks. Our kids also loved the beach area! We highly recommend renting Scott's boat too. We spent so much time out on the water catching a lot of (smaller) fish.

After a rough year, we were ready for a family getaway and Scott's cabin on spider lake for the bill perfectly. The welcome basket of goodies was a nice touch. We took our vacation earlier this year and everything was wonderful. Cabin was perfect for our family. The lake was nice and fishing was good for us. Golf down the road at spider lake resort was a bonus. Kitchen was fully stocked. Comfortable beds, slept great. What's not to love? Thanks for everything!

Beautiful interior! A longer walk to the lake than I thought it would be.

We had a very good experience. Scott was very responsive when we reached out. The place is very nice and totally met our needs.

The cabin was clean. The owner was very helpfull on the questions we had and the stay was great!

The cabin was very clean, all necessities we needed were available and in good condition, and had a nice modern updated interior. Very nice little cabin! Instructions provided were clear, and the gift basket of miscellaneous items for guests is a nice touch! The part of the lake this cabin is on is just lovely, very quiet, calm and serene.

The unit was very clean and the interior was very nice. Nothing about the interior was in any way lacking except for the water pressure, which was pretty light. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, crisp and hearty. This is obviously a well cared for property. I am incredibly particular where cleanliness is concerned and on my visit, it gets a 10 of 10.
If you are looking for charm, this is not it. The unit is above a garage overlooking a giant gravel (unkempt north woods style) parking lot. I don’t think this was well articulated in the listing. Given the awkward location/style of the unit—NOT cabin—I think it was a little pricey. You get the feeling Thst you are kind of robbed of the north woods experience. Also…no dishwasher or laundry on premises which was a bummer.

Comfortable and all the latest amenities you have at home are included with this property. Direct access to this chain of lakes is a big plus.

We had a very nice stay. The property was recently remodeled and well taken car of. The kitchen has everything needed to cook or bake. The porch is large and was nice to have during inclement weather. The old school resort setting was exactly what we were looking for and we had the whole property to ourselves. The only down side, you have no (zero) view of the lake from the condo. Plus the building is a duplex, not an issue for us due to the fact we were the only ones there at the time. We felt the price was fair for what you’re renting.

The unit was very, very nice. We had three adults and plenty of elbow room. The unit is decorated perfectly for the north woods. The owner provided all the essentials. Scott, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. We had the BEST stay! The pontoon boat was a must. So much fun! We caught a lot of fish.

Great stay on Fawn/Spider Lake
The unit is clean and has everything we needed. Scott is helpful, responsive and easy to work with. Definitely rent the boat, if you don't have your own. The lakes are beautiful, but Fawn Lake (where the condo is) is quite small. Saw lots of wildlife, used the fire pit, swam and had a relaxing time. A few tips: bring your own beach towels, outdoor chairs and swim floats. Enjoy!

So much wildlife ...
Let me start by saying how cozy and clean this property was. Our group had five adults and never felt cramped. We spent a lot of time on the water and going from one lake to the other. There was so much wildlife in this area - deer, loons, geese, eagles, hawks, two black bear cubs (never saw momma but we know she wasn't far away), and cranes. Traveling into Hayward wasn't far from the cabin either and there are a few really good restaurants in the area. The cabin had everything you needed - we especially loved the screened in porch.

We had a great stay at the Spider Lake cabin. It was super clean and tastefully decorated and outfitted. Our family of four had lots of room and especially enjoyed the living room with the gas fireplace and the well-appointed kitchen. In warmer weather the porch and boat would be wonderful. The owner was responsive and accommodating. We were in the area for Nordic ski races at the Birkie trailhead in Cable, WI. The cabin was a bit further from the trailhead than we had hoped, but it was manageable (with some planning).

Over all it was a good experience. The address provided when using my GPS was way off. It took over an hour to actually find the cabin. Without the help of a local I'm not sure if I would have ever found the cabin.

My wife and two kids ages 4 and 6 spent MEA weekend at Scott's unit on Spider Lake this fall. This was our first experience with VRBO, although we've stayed at numerous properties via a competitor's site. Locating the exact property would have been an issue with just the GPS, but fortunately we inquired ahead and got directions. Once we arrived check in was simple and easy. The rental unit is located above a garage so be aware that climbing a short flight of steps is necessary. There is an adjoining unit but it was not in use during our stay, so there were no noise concerns. The unit was clean, welcoming and tidy when we arrived. The cabin theme was really cozy. We especially enjoyed the gas fireplace and the well stocked kitchen. The unit also seemed to have been recently updated with new appliances, carpet, furniture, countertops and cabinets, and woodwork throughout. The two bedrooms comfortably slept two adults and two kids, and there was plenty of space to relax. We were there late in the season so we missed being able to use the pontoon, but the lake was beautiful with a small beach and even a play area for the kids. Interaction with Scott was convenient, he was professional and accommodating. Overall a very pleasant stay at a great location.

Good experience. Nice, clean and comfortable property. Located on 2nd level of building. Included everything you needed as far as a stay away from home.

Nice place
I should have asked more questions before renting. I thought this was located on the lake but it was NEAR the lake which was a short walk. Overall it was nice but not what we expected.

Pictures don't show how nice it really is. Had one of our best vacations ever. Beautiful chain of lakes. Fishing was slow with the very hot weather which made the air conditioning a great extra. Lots of stairs to get to the cabin, but would highly recommend
