A rare property right on 6th Street in the heart of the West End! 2 bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, plus a twin daybed in the living area. The front patio is private, overlooking 6th Street with seating and lighting. A fully stocked kitchen and breakfast area make it easy to entertain and cook your own meals. The laundry room has a full size washer and dryer and everything is provided to do laundry. Easy parking. Bathrooms and kitchen are newly updated, beautiful hardwood floors, lots of light and located in the coolest neighborhood in the Live Music Capitol. Walk to bars and restauarants, Whole Foods, Waterloo Records, boutique shopping, Auditorium Shores (ACL), Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail and Zilker Park.

We can’t say enough positive things about this property. Located nearly in the geographic middle of Austin, it is charming old house, very nicely furnished and decorated. Check-in was a breeze and the owner was available for any questions. We are looking forward to our next stay here.

We had a wonderful time in our little purple house. Kay was very hospitable. She left a cup full of candy for us which we appreciated and was a nice touch. The house was so cute and beds were very comfortable. The location was wonderful with a couple of cute restaurants across the street. We went to Donn's Depot one night and had a great time!! Definitely would recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Austin!

The Happy House really felt like a home. From the time we unlocked the door to the time we checked out, everything felt like we lived there. Our host made sure we were comfortable with everything. We had access to an ironing board, wine opener, and even extra blankets for a movie night. I could not recommend The Happy House more when visiting Austin, Texas.

What a wonderful find! Happy House is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated to reflect Austin culture, and thoughtfully appointed. Kay is a model host - responsive and friendly. We were so taken with the property that we booked a second stay as we were leaving.

This Bungalow is beautiful. Four of my friends and I enjoyed the 4 nights and ease of Uber was awesome as well. Walking distance to many places if you like the Heat of TX. Kay and her daughter Natalie are so kind and helpful and booking and communication and instructions were easy. If I come back to Austin?, I will definitely stay there again😊 5 stars all the way‼️

Great location! Great host, we had everything we needed. Bungalow was bright, colorful and spacious. A bit of issues initially receiving the access instructions via email, but it could have been on Vbro. We had a few visitors to meet up before our day on the late and they all loved the location and just how cozy our Vbro was. I will add, a deep cleaning (such as dusting) is needed.

My daughter and I came to Austin early the week of her wedding to finish last minute details. We have stayed in the house before and were so happy to find it available again!! The location is perfect in one of our favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Kay provides everything to make the stay easy and comfortable. We will stay here anytime we find it available!!

We stayed here for a long weekend in Austin. The house was delightful! The location is great and the house was cute and comfy. It has everything you could want and it was the perfect place to relax. I liked the decor, comfortable beds, kitchen was well stocked, great shampoo and conditioners (it's the little things that feel like the owner "goes the extra mile"), and overall vibe of the house. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Austin.

We chose Austin as a halfway place to meet our Montana daughter. I am a frequent VRBOer, and always try to find a unique property that will enhance our trip. The bungalow on West 6th was just as pictured--smartly decorated with a well-stocked kitchen and two bedrooms/baths that were conveniently located at different ends of the house, allowing for great privacy. The neighborhood offers several great restaurants and bars (one literally across the street) also housed in restored bungalows. Totally charming. Further down the street is a Whole Foods--we walked to retrieve our groceries. Kay, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart! Communication was excellent and her business is next store, so we knew we could easily reach her if we had questions. If you are looking for a sophisticated house, in a hip neighborhood, close to many amenities, this is the place for you. My only caveat is that the road out front, although residential, has a steady stream of traffic. If you are a light sleeper, you should grab the back bedroom.

The home was just as it was described. Plenty of room for my family! The outdoor space was nice to relax at night! Walking distance to many nice restaurants. Kay was very responsive and very nice! This is a little gem in Clarksville! We will definitely stay here again soon!

Was a very comfortable and well appointed house. The neighborhood felt safe and was convenient to a lot of activities that we did. Traffic noise was certainly there but did not affect our stay. Beds were very comfortable and Kay was very responsive to our needs. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a small family reunion with 4 of us and met in Austin from California and Macallen, TX. When I saw this home on VRBO, it looked cute. It was even better in reality. The floor plan was perfect, with bedrooms and bathrooms on opposite ends. The family room was decorated so cute and comfortable. We enjoyed everything, even the record player. :) There were plenty of supplies and extra blankets/towels, which were helpful as it was an abnormally cold weekend. The host, Kay, was amazing! She was so responsive. She was very flexible with the check in timing. You can see that she takes great pride in her home and it's important to her that her guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. The location was in walking distance to some great venues on Sixth Street so there was plenty to do, even if you didn't want to Uber. Despite the cold weather, we had a wonderful stay, and I will definitely contact Kay if we're ever back in Austin.

Very charming and well thought out property with excellent walkable access to great restaurants, bars and shops. Will definitely return when in Austin again. Two bedrooms each with separate baths made it especially convenient for family or two couples.

Probably one of the most comfortable and well appointed VRBOs I have ever stayed at. Our host, Kay has thought of everything. The home with two en-suite bedrooms was perfect for our group (two couples) and it is conveniently located to take in the sights, sounds, and food of Austin.

Located close to city center in a quiet neighborhood. We walked everywhere and had a great time exploring the downtown and UT campus. Close to a nice nature trail that goes along both sides of the river.

Wonderful trip for 60th birthday celebration. The house was spotless and very well represented by the listing and photos. Great location. Everything we could need was in the home including bath wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, plenty of very nice bath and hand towels, full kitchen utensils and cookware - comfortable beds - washer and dryer. Kay was responsive and friendly with great recommendations. Our whole group highly recommends this rental.

This property was adorably furnished, very clean, well stocked in the kitchen, and had very comfortable beds. The little house provided ample space for the three of us (all adult) who stayed there, having two bedrooms and two bath. The house was in a neighborhood with many things within walking distance (great Mexican restaurant, great bar across the street, dueling piano bar on next block to name just a few that we enjoyed). Kay was a gracious host who allowed us to check in an hour early so that my brother could get on a Zoom call for work. She also provided excellent communication throughout the whole booking and arrival, as well as during our stay. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short by one day due to flight cancellations because of a hurricane, and Kay was extremely gracious about refunding our money for this last night due to the circumstances. It is this kind of customer service that keeps me coming back to VRBO. I would highly recommend this location and this property!

We loved this house! The location was perfect, close to shopping, downtown, coffee shops and the bike trail. The house was immaculate, and super comfortable. The kitchen was very organized and had everything we needed. It was nice and cool to come back to after walking and biking around in the July heat. Kay was super helpful and even texted me to let me know I could check in a bit early, which was much appreciated. We hope to be back soon! Thanks Kay!!

I stayed for four nights with my two kids (one teen and one tween), and we were all very comfortable there. It's an older house so it's got character! Small but fully stocked kitchen, two roomy bedrooms, two full and updated bathrooms, and I got to play Eagles records on the turntable! Kay was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when the power went out for about an hour. She was in touch immediately with us and with the city, letting us know when it would be back. (The whole block went out, it was like 105 degrees out!) She even offered to help us find a hotel if it didn't come back, but thank goodness we got to stay in our cute purple house! Great owner, cute house, highly recommended!
