About this house rental
Located near the tip of the Thunderbird Mountain peninsula, the views from our lakefront house are hard to beat. Watch the sunrise every morning from one of the 4 east facing decks, the comfort of the master bedroom, or the spacious living room. We have over 2200 sq ft of outdoor living deck space overlooking both the lake and National Forest, giving you plenty of options to gather with your group or relax alone. Adjacent to the dining room is a screened in porch with a dining table and propane grill. There is also an additional dining table outside on the top deck and inside at a bar with stools, overlooking the kitchen.
Inside you will find three levels of living space including a Master suite with King Size TempurPedic bed, two bedrooms with Queen size beds plus one day bed, and a bunk room with two sets of custom-made bunk beds. The Master Suite is on the main, top level, with a spacious bathroom and walk in closet. Both bedrooms on the middle floor have an ensuite bathroom and are adjacent to the media room. One bedroom has a private outdoor deck with a sectional sofa and also connects to the main deck. The third, bottom, floor has the bunk room and game room with a pool table, arcade game, mini fridge and full bath. The covered deck on this level has a gorgeous view, propane fire pit and lots of seating.
The beauty of Lake Santeetlah can be enjoyed inside from each room, as there are gorgeous windows throughout, but the real fun can be had on the huge decks, lakefront dock and exploring the lake via boat (rentals available at the Marina with advanced notice) or one of the SUP/kayaks that we provide.

There is a lot of good and bad here. The location and view here is why you rent this house. The layout was good in terms of giving you some separation when needed from kids, or couples.
Rooms are a great sizes with very small but functional bathrooms. The dock is great and was great that it came with a couple of paddle boards and a kayak.
Biggest safety concern was the top deck is about 30+ feet drop to the ground and the wire railings were over 6 inches apart. If you don't have any small children with you then it isn't a concern but if you do it is a major concern. They really need to add another wire in the middle up there as that is definitely not to code. Second thing is the fire place hearth jets out right where you walk out of the primary bedroom. It is only a problem because it sticks up about 1.5-2 inches above the floor. Really bad design and caused several hurt toes. There is a buckle in the flooring in the kitchen that everyone constantly tripped and stubbed there toe on that needs to be fixed.
Now for some maintenance issues. Some of the screens on the screened in porch are not there. About 30% of the lightbulbs are out. There was no starter soap or shampoo and the toilet paper was minimal to start and the house felt unclean to be honest. Coffee pot and several dishes were dirty, so we washed everything.
Still had a great time just needs to put a little effort into this to make the guest experience a great one. You can tell the bare minimum is done here.

This place is serene and relaxing. We had wonderful time around the fire pit and playing games as a family. The lake was refreshing. Loved the location

This home is lovely, spacious, and equipped with everything for all kinds of weather. Paddle boards and kayaks, perfect water, and the marina just around the bend while inside you can play pool, video games, puzzles/board games or just hang out on the deck. Let me tell you about the views!!!!!! Gorgeous from every angle, deck, and time of day. It was breathtaking. We met here for my 50th birthday and it was perfect in every way. The owners, Paige and June, were very responsive as we did have one hiccup that comes with owning any home and they got it fixed right away. It was wonderful!!

We had a great time at this cabin. It is very roomy and I liked the vertical layout giving everyone privacy when they wanted it. We had a group of 9 total. It is a 4 bedroom unit but one of the rooms is bunkbeds so remember that if you have 4 adult couples. We had 2 sports cars and a SUV. Be careful parking in the gravel. My rear tires on the Porsche got stuck for a few mins since it was on an incline and there were loose rocks. The lake and view is really beautiful. Very close to Tail of the Dragon and some of the best roads in North America. Thanks!

Great house for a week on Lake Santeetlah! Amazing decks with views of the mountains. Love the dock for swimming and boats. Great fun for our three families (14 people).

Phenomenal family vacation house
We loved our stay! There were 9 of us total who came, and we couldn't be happier with the house. With three separate levels, there was plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were always on top of each other, but the space was also very accommodating for all of us to spend time together. Great stay in the mountains
Paige's was beautiful and spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The lake and location were wonderful and our family enjoyed the paddle boards on the lake. We were a family of 12 and had plenty of space to gather together and get away in smaller groups on the property.

Paige is wonderful! She’s very responsive and accommodating. Owning a vacation rental is challenging in the summer because things just happen. The HVAC went out right before we arrived, but Paige and her family made sure each effected room was cool and comfortable with window units that had thermostats. Summer Fun
We had a a wonderful stay at your mt lake house. What a beautiful spot it is! Time on the lake, swimming at the dock and evenings on the deck were some of our favorites. There was lots of pollen on the patio furniture which made it hard to use. Also the central AC on the top two floors seem to not be working completely but overall we had a great time at your mt retreat. We plan to come again next summer!

Beautiful views of Lake Santeetlah!
We enjoyed this roomy well equipped house with fantastic views of Lake Santeetlah. We were using this as a home base for motorcycling in the area. It was a perfect location. On our “”down days” we enjoyed playing games of pool and kayaking on the lake.

Pleasurable experience at the cabin. Have rented this cabin multiple times and the size, location, and amenities all fit the need. Owners are very easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Fabulous setting on beautiful lake which we practically had to ourselves!
Owners helped us find boat to rent. We along with Our adult children and spouses Thoroughly enjoyed every inch of this spacious property and the views from all 3 levels as well as the dock. Highly recommend!

Remote and Relaxing
The town of Lake Santeetlah is comprised of beautiful lake homes built directly into the mountain. The house is actually four separate stories with gorgeous views from different decks. My favorite was swinging in the wooden swing on the third floor while enjoying my coffee and gazing at the stars with an after dinner drink. The is not a lot of traffic on the lake which was a welcome surprise. Highly recommend renting a pontoon boat and cruising the lake - there are all these wonderful fingers on the lake you can pull off and have a private swim.

Great family getaway!
We rented Alpenhaus because we were unable to get to our cottage in Canada. The location was fantastic, and the house had everything we needed. Two families spread out offer the three floors, and the game room was awesome for the kiddos to go play. We spent many lazy mornings reading on the decks. We loved our vacation!

Masterpiece views, Along with the great Boat dock, grill, Pool table was great fun, and the Pac-Man machine was a disappointment only because I did not win a tournament. Beautiful house beautiful lake hopefully we will return, very comfortable beds also

Great Vacation
For my family of 10, (6 adults, 4 children), this property was great. The top floor kitchen and great room were perfect size for our group. We ate our meals on the outdoor deck and at the kitchen dinning table. We had ample room. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, griddles, cookie sheets, etc. The bedrooms were spacious and well appointed. We had plenty of privacy space. The dock was super. We tied up two boats, and enjoyed the water craft supplied from the house. We all thought the house was perfect.

Wonderful escape
Lake Santeetlah is the best, summer, mountain getaway! We love having a property with a boat dock. This property has a lot of stairs but it ensures you get your steps in while on vacation. The multiple decks, which makes for a great house to share with a big group and still have some quiet spaces to getaway to. The kitchen is a little dated and is ready for an upgrade to the stove and counters, but they are serviceable.
Also, the house is due for a deep clean. All visible surfaces were clean but we had to dig behind the bunk beds for my sons toy and the dust/dirt has really piled up in the unseen corners.
