Another wonderful family vacation spent at this location.
The home, grounds and pools are beautiful. So many activities to do: archery, basketball, ping-pong, bocce ball (a family favorite). We are a large family and nice, clean, large vacation homes with great amenities are hard to find!
But what really brings it all together is the host, Del.
He is so accommodating, he installed handrails in the master bedroom for my parents for this return trip. My dad will be turning 100 and my mom is 92. They are is great shape in mind and body but they both use a cane or walker from time to time especially at night time. So the handrails were a blessing and gave the rest of the family peace of mind when mom and dad or grandpa & grandma went to bed at night. He stopped by to make sure all was good and left a coupon for a pie shop in town, which the kids later went and got three homemade pies!!
Thank you so very much, Del

This ranch house and gardens are stunning! We arrived to ring the bell at the entryway with a party of nineteen for our parents’ 50th anniversary. Everything is setup so thoughtfully and welcomingly, with many pleasant areas to sit and chat. The garden has tons of shade trees and umbrellas for the hot summer afternoons around the pool or spa. There’s a great sound system outside for ambiance. There’s archery, bocce, ping pong, volleyball, and tons of activities for everyone to play together, from kids to adults. Our local host, Del, met us personally for a tour and was always charming, hospitable, and responsive to the questions and requests we had for our party. We cannot recommend Del and RedSmith Ranch too highly! We hope to be back.

It is hard to beat this property for large family trips. Plenty of space inside and out. Del is the ultimate host. Attentive and truly understands what hospitality is all about, providing above and beyond amenities and supplies. Hoping to make this our new annual destination.

Perfect week for our family of 17 ages from 87 to 18. Large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. So many spots to escape to for quiet times.
The variety of activities kept everyone occupied.
Grocery shopping was convenient and youngsters enjoyed
Lodi. The Biglieri Farm and Young Payless were particularly of note. We are an Italian family of great cooks. We prepared all of our meals on site. The kitchen was well stocked and enjoyed by all.
The family rated this one of the favorite rentals we have experienced.

The property is beautiful. The gardens, the views, the pool/hot tub, games and activities available along with several cozy sitting areas to relax and enjoy visiting with our family, were wonderful and memorable experiences for everyone. The host Del, provided us on our arrival a detailed overview of the property and home. The home has a very grand layout and was well stocked with all of the kitchen utensils, tools and dish ware you would need to prepare meals. Additionally, you are surrounded by restaurants, grocery stores and a multitude of activities in Lodi. The property is perfect for large family gatherings. Our entire family had a wonderful time, thank you Del for sharing this gorgeous home.

Had a great time at Red Smith Ranch! Stayed there for UOP graduation with a group of 14 family members.
Plenty of room for everyone in common areas. Bedrooms were comfortable & entire house was nicely decorated. Plenty of kitchen area for gathering when cooking breakfast (lots of essentials provided for cooking) & plenty of eating area too.
Grounds were beautiful & well maintained. Lots to do while outside. Swimming, hot tub, fire pit area to make s’mores & herb garden to use. Played bocci ball, a little archery & ping pong. There was so much outdoor space to just walk around & enjoy as a group or for alone time & soothing sounds of water fountains to make sitting outside relaxing. Farmland views were amazing!
Had a catered meal on sight by a Chef recommended by Del & the meal was delicious. Lots of table room & gorgeous weather to enjoy our after graduation meal.
Location is convenient to downtown Lockeford & Lodi & getting Stockton did not take long.
So much to see & do while staying at Red Smith Ranch that we wish we could have stayed longer!
Del was very accommodating with flexibility of checking in/checking out.
Definitely recommend Red Smith Ranch for your next big family gathering. You’ll have a fantastic time resting & having fun!

This has to be one of the best homes we have ever rented!
The house itself is so spacious, so many seating areas.
Outside areas are fantastic, we enjoyed playing all the games and using the hot tub.
Del was extremely welcoming and everything was explained well.
We will be back!

The country villa was so beautiful. The landscape was amazing with a vegetable and rose garden. Del and Jennifer thought of everything imaginable for a delightful stay. It was festive in fall colors with assorted pumpkin decor throughout the entire property. The amenities were unique and thoughtful. They were very helpful with a listing of local food vendors and caters for a smooth, carefree family gathering.
Until next time Del. Thank you!

We recently held an intimate wedding here and when we arrived at the property, our immediate thought was “this is EVEN BETTER than the photos online.”
Del was so helpful during booking & planning, and when we arrived, Del’s partner Marne became our contact throughout our stay and was quick to respond and help us with anything that we needed.
As our stay was at the end of October, we missed a lot of the flowers on the property, but that didn’t detract from the beauty of the grounds. Unfortunately, it was a little too cold to use the pool, but the hot tub was a highlight. Also, the house comes with so many fun outdoor games and activities!
The house was a homey space that felt lived in and we felt so comfortable just being there and using it as a home is meant to be used. It was clear that comfort and fun were priorities in designing and decorating the house.
The kitchen was very well appointed, and there was plenty of seating for our large family.
The bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and roomy. And despite the number of people staying in the house, they were quiet – guests could sleep even if people were still enjoying themselves.
We would 100% recommend Red Smith Ranch to anyone looking to host a family gathering, wedding, or event. We couldn’t be happier to have made some really important memories there.
Thank you Del & Marne for making our wedding and stay so magical!

This was our first time staying in the Central Valley after staying at the coast for multiple years. We loved the warm weather and spent most of our time in the pool. We had a amazing time, and can't wait to spend time again there next year.

We thirteen go on a biennial family vacation and this was the best yet. We stayed a week, and didn't come close to exhausting its spaces and amenities. Great pool and spa,
fresh produce from the garden, pickle ball, corn hole, croquet, archery--wow. Deluxe kitchen, fully appointed, and big tables for family meals. A few glitches that Del took care of right away. Shade trees, pool, and air conditioning mitigated oppressive heat. Several excursions possible, but apart from wine tasting, we were happy to stay at home.

Del is a gracious host who was very communicative and always there to help. We had a few hiccups with the internet and fridge and he was prompt to problem solve and get things in working order. The property is just gorgeous with lots of citrus trees and a fig tree and a vegetable garden we utilized during our stay. We made fresh salsa and it was so delicious! Outdoor cinema and pool were the best. House stayed nice and cool during a hot spell. Winery down the street you can walk to. Patio boat rental with waterslide at nearby Camanche Lake. We.ll be back next year for sure!!

We rent a home every summer and our 4 children, spouses, 6 grandchildren, & 1 dog, spend the time together. This house was perfect for our family of 16 people, as were the grounds which included a wonderful pool and many fun things to do around the property!

This is my 2nd stay at the Ranch. Del is such a gracious host and takes the extra time to personally dial the house in for a perfect stay; he was flexible and accommodating to all my requests. My friends and family gathered to celebrate a birthday and father’s day, they enjoyed every nook and activity available at the house. The beds are super comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed from a big pot to boil lobster to a built in griddle for pancakes. But the expansive yard was where we spent most of our time…the fully fenced in yard was great for our pups, the pool was perfect temp and the hot tub was clean and freshly filled. Thank you AGAIN, for a great experience. Can’t wait to stay in your other property in October!

My brother, sister, and myself (ages 72-80) brought our children and our grandchildren for an annual getaway of sun, fun, and food.
There was something for everyone at this expansive house set in the vineyards of Lodi. We didn't leave the whole long weekend, but were never bored. Two nights at the poker table were full of laughs for the old folks. Rousing games of CornHole for all ages.
Amazing kitchen supplies and space for the cooks.
Two dishwashers were a huge help.
Losers in the timed scavenger hunt (for finding the multiple ceramic and metal birds and animals) had to do the dishes that night. Fun for all.
Highly recommend this house with the A+++ host.

Stayed the weekend with 12 women for a 40th birthday and had a fantastic time! Clean, easy, comfortable. Went out wine tasting, brought in a chef for a dinner, made fancy cocktails at the beautiful bar, and relaxed in the hot tub. We caught very cold weather and STILL the house feels like a resort and we didn't want to leave.

This house was perfect for our purposes—lots of large communal space in which to gather, but also many nooks in which to find privacy and quiet. Even better, Del was a responsive and generous host. It's always so much better to hand over the check to a really nice guy.

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. We never ran out of things to do. From exploring the fruit trees and jacuzzi time to games of archery, everyone had something to do. Del (host) was super communicative and gracious. We would to come back for another sweet adventure at this wonderful home.

We had a lovely long weekend here. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, the house is beautiful but also feels like it's meant to be lived in. The many amenities kept everyone content and the kitchen had all we needed to cook large meals. A+++

Property is very nice, surrounded by vineyards. There was a problem with air conditioning not being turned on soon enough before we got there. It was 116 that day, but Del took care of it. We were 9 ladies that play Mah Jongg and we played many games, fixed meals and ate together on the big dining room table. Lots of wineries nearby to go wine tasting.

Our close group of friends who are like family stayed here during some very hot days and had a wonderful time. Del is a gracious host and was very available for questions that arose. The ranch has a surprising number of hangout spots and like 3(?!) fountains. I almost don’t want to submit this review, so we can keep this gem more to ourselves….

Beautiful house, lush gardens, lots to do on site, enough to do nearby (especially if you like wine and beer), very gracious host, nice kitchen with multiple dishwashers, great outdoor dining, good sound system. We stayed a wonderful week and it went by too fast. Only small issue was that communication with host was good, but sometimes not as responsive as I would've liked when we were there.

This is our 2nd stay at Redsmith Ranch. I stayed in January for my 60th birthday and loved the property so much we decided to come back for a family trip during the summer to experience the pool life! We had 16 people and everyone LOVED it! There is ample space for everyone to hang out and be together or have some quiet time! Thanks so much to Del for being a great host!! I have no doubt we will be back again for another amazing trip!

Our annual family vacation was made even better because we chose this home surrounded by vineyards. The property was beautiful inside and out. It was immaculate and had every amenity we could think of and even some we hadn't had available in other rental homes.
The check in process was made special with Del greeting us and showing us around the house and the grounds. He showed us the rose garden and the vegetable garden. He told us we were welcome to use whatever vegetables we wanted and we definitely did that. What a treat the home grown veggies made in our pasta dish one night.
Communication with Del was so easy and he was extremely quick in his responses. He would text us several times over the course of our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.
There was plenty of room for all of us, ranging in age from 70 to 2 months. There were also spots to get away to for a couple of minutes of quiet. The pool area was great with plenty of seating for those who weren't in the pool. Our kids love the swing.
I could go on and on but bottom line is don't hesitate to rent this property.

Amazing and the pictures don't do it justices
We were a party of 12 for a family reunion. Del has an amazing space and a fabulous host. The house was amazing all 5 couples had their own room and the 2 singles too. The outdoor space left us speechless. SO many nice areas to sit and enjoy the quiet surroundings. The pool was prefect - thoroughly used and enjoyed daily. There was lots of activities - ping pong, basketball, bocce, archery were enjoyed but didn't get to volleyball or darts :). We ate outside at a prefect table for 12 or more every evening. The house has an amazing bar that the 2 bartenders of the family enjoyed using. The indoor space was impressive, but to be honest we spent most of it outdoors on the property. Pet friendly - our 2 dogs had as much fun as we did. We left very blessed for our experience together as a family in such an incredible place. Last night we used the outdoor projector for the celebration of an 85th birthday. Our stay was perfection. Thank you Del and hope to be back.

Moms' weekend away
Del was really communicative, flexible, and easy to interact with. The entire property was clean, well stocked and well appointed, but unfortunately this time of year we were not able to enjoy much from the garden, or the beautiful outdoor spaces much as if we were to have in the warmer months. It definitely was a comfortable space for our group of 16 moms looking for a quick trip away from home and work life, and afforded us the ability to reset ourselves. The bar area was fantastic and we're looking forward to return when there are warmer days. Thank you Del!

Gorgeous property in peaceful location
Came with friends for our annual reunion get-together. Del was very pleasant to rent from, and was very communicative, flexible, and on top of making sure our needs were met. The property was enormous, beautiful, and very well kept. We will probably be looking to come visit again in the summer!

Wonderful place to gather with friends
The property and surrounding vineyards are absolutely stunning. You feel like you've been transported to a spanish villa as soon as you step out of your car. The house has everything you need and feels cozy and welcoming while still being grand and spacious. Del is super sweet and beyond helpful. He and his helper Susan made us all feel right at home. Everyone in my group of 16 fell in love with the ranch and can't wait to come back :)

Gorgeous destination wedding location
We stayed at RedSmith Ranch for 5 nights in December for my daughters intimate destination wedding. This property is absolutely beautiful! Rehearsal dinner was held at the property as well as the wedding. Del is a great host who was very accommodating to our requests to help make the rehearsal and ceremony everything my daughter had envisioned! The grounds are immaculate! We would definitely stay here again!
