About this villa rental
The property sits in half an acre of mature olive, fig, walnut and orange trees with quiet sitting areas and a generous terrace enclosed by dry stone walls. A stunning swimming pool dramatically extends from one terrace level to the lower garden level. There is a shallow paddling area for children or those wishing to sit down and cool down, this is linked to the main swimming area by a gentle slope. The pool is filled from April to end of September and is not heated so may be a little chilly in April and September! The house has been stylishly renovated 50 square meters of living space with a wood burning fire for winter nights. Four french doors open the living space onto another 50 square meters of external terraced area for dining or sipping cocktails under the shade of the olive tree. The house is in a quiet location with mountain views all around. The property is a 5 min drive from Orgiva which is a lively small town with restaurants, markets and good food and wine shops.

My husband, son aged 14 and daughter aged 12 stayed at Sigi’s place for 14 nights. The setting is beautiful. The villa itself is simple and very stylish with everything you need. The pool is definitely the best pool we have ever had with the most amazing picture perfect backdrop. The children spent hours in it playing volleyball.
During our stay we did ‘El Caminito del Rey’ which was a great experience but it’s a bit of a drive (2 hours).
Closer by and definitely not to be missed, is the Alhambra and the Albaicín area of Granada.
We also went horse riding locally and did a sunset hike. Both great experiences.
Sigi’s place is a lovely to get away from it all. We didn’t really venture into Órgiva town centre much other than to get groceries as BBQing at the villa was so lovely. There are some picturesque little villages to visit which are only a 25 min drive away.
Sigi is a great host and responds quickly! Barney and his wife Sarah look after the pool and garden and Clara does the cleaning. All really great and lovely to chat to 😊

A truly wonderful property which while close to the town, is far enough to make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The house was so warm and inviting and Sigi was the perfect host, easy to contact and helpful. Would definitely book again.

Our 3 weeks in Sierra Nevada was perfect because of this cortijo. The house and garden were beautifully restored and maintained and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Sigi for sharing your house with us.

Lovely rural location, nice small pool, well-stocked kitchen and about 45 minutes from Granada and the beach. We had a lovely time.

We have stayed in this house twice. It is a stunning house. The inside and outside are really beautiful, set in a stunning olive grove, it is a beautifully restored house.
Cooking on the barbecue and eating outside, after a relaxed day - just wonderful.
The pool area is really beautiful.
The house is an easy reach to Granada, Malaga and the surrounding beaches.
Sigi is a warm and lovely host 🥰
If you want a relaxing hol, in a beautiful house, we would absolutely recommend booking.

Happy family time
We were grandparents with our family-2 adults and 2 little ones.
The property was generous and comfortable. We felt Sigi had thought of every thing to make our stay easy. The photos were very accurate . The garden really was as pretty and entrancing as shown.

Casa Luca - Fantastic Villa
This is a lovely villa, gardens and pool. We were two families with teenagers and the accommodation worked really well for us with enough space for everyone. Really well equipped kitchen and none of the usual chef's (me!) hassles with a rental property kitchen plus loads of fridge/freezer space for drinks/food and a top spec bbq.
Sigi was very accommodating and helpful; this holiday had been rearranged from 2020 due to covid.
Many thanks from us all
Ps. Big shout out to Barney and Clara too!

Peaceful getaway in beautiful setting
We had a really easy, peaceful and relaxing week at this beautifully furnished villa, set in a lush garden with stunning views of the mountains from the pool. Sigi, the owner has made Casa Luca feel like a home from home and was very helpful and responsive in communications.
The children were very happy playing in the pool and garden all day, with the odd trip to Orgiva for ice cream or lunch- there’s lots of choice. We had a couple of tasty meals at the campsite restaurant which is within walking distance, and enjoyed the nearby river which is a great little swimming spot. The kitchen was well equipped and there were numerous spots fir eating or drinking outside, we enjoyed some lovely alfresco meals in the shade of olive trees. There were 2 hammocks that we enjoyed having siestas or reading in, and the garden was not overlooked so felt very private.
We were there in the full heat of August with temperatures were in the high 30s; we would love to go back but would probably come when temperatures at night are cooler- the villa walls are lovely and thick so keep the warmth in very well but we found it too hot at night even with the fans on. Probably relating to the heat and nearby farm there were lots of flies around but the sprays provided helped a little. The kids would also have liked TV available in English but we loved getting away from the TV! I would have rated the property 5 stars if it wasn’t for these small issues.
Overall we had a great experience there, and found the villa comfortable and stylish, with everything in great working order, in a great location. Thanks so much Sigi!

The perfect holiday place!
Incredibly Casa Luca really is even better than it looks on the website! That’s true of the house - which has everything, all done to perfection - and of the peaceful, secluded and beautiful garden. And of course this perfect holiday house and garden has what has to be the best pool I’ve encountered in a rental to date. Add the ideal location and it has to be said this place can’t really be beaten!

Really nice contemporary rustic villa.
It was very hot when we here but cool areas in the house and perfect for our daughters by the pool. Great pool with the kids pool perfect for our grandson. Villa suits a family like ours really well and liked being able to get into town so easily for eating out. Well supplied house with all we needed.

Best of both worlds
What a lovely, relaxing place! We felt Casa Luca was the best of both worlds: it is on the edge of Orgiva, so still close to town, but far enough out that it is quiet and rural. The area attracts more tourists than it did the last time we visited 20 years ago, but it retains a sense of being 'real' and there are plenty of walks on which you will meet no one but ibex and birds. On the local 'route of centenarian olive trees', Casa Luca retains a sense of being amongst working smallholdings with its own olive and orange trees. The pool was gorgeous, we loved the way the house is decorated and it is well appointed for a rental villa. The two bathrooms also made a big difference to our party of 8. The villa has good sized bedrooms with comfy beds. We used the fireplace and wood stove for chilly evenings, which were lovely. The kitchen is small, but had everything we needed. We visited for Semana Santa and enjoyed the processions in town as well as the white villages, and of course the sunshine and relaxation. The local feria 'Hecho en la Alpujarra' was on and was a good source of handicraft finds (lovely local pottery). We even managed to get one day of skiing in the Sierra Nevadas. We didn't want to leave!

For a great holiday...
A magnificent house, luxury enough and great views. Very cosy with a great open fire. A four-bedroom house that is perfectly comfortable and pleasant for even a five-person family. A lot of beautiful mountainwalks within short range, even next to the house. Beaches within half an hour (the new highway is ready now); restaurants and shopping all in close range. So you're in the centre of everything. Sure we can recommend this house for a perfect stay...!

Casa Luca proved to be a very comfortable holiday home and worked very well for our family of two adults and three children aged, 9, 7 and 4. There was way more space than we needed but the children enjoyed have a big room each and the two bathrooms worked well. Our holiday plan was to cook and eat at the house, enjoy a few meals out, and spend lots of time in the pool. This we did and in both respects we had what we needed. The pool is great for splashing around in, and big enough for very casual adult swimmers to get a little exercise. The separate but connected shallow end was perfect for our non-swimmer. Cooking on olive branches in a bbq was a new skill and achieved with mixed results. Cooking inside, the kitchen was more than adequate and we enjoy cooking. The living area provided plenty of space and it was a great pleasure to be able to move between the paved area outside and the indoor space - it works really well. It was so easy to take food to eat at the outside table - a great place for family breakfasts and evening meals. (Too hot for us at lunchtime.)Orgiva, some 5 minutes away in the car, did not capture our hearts but provided everything we needed and the nearby mountain villages were interesting, friendly and a mixture of more and less touristy. The Alhambra palace was close enough for a couple of visits and well worth the 45-60 minute journey. The garden and house support people were really friendly and a pleasure to have around for pool maintenance and house cleaning. An excellent Spanish teacher was procured for a few lessons. We would happily go back for the summer months and also like the idea of seeing Las Alpujarras in a different season. We will certainly recommend to friends.

The house was really beautiful. It was well equipped and it looked even better than it already looked on the photographs. Very comfortable. Nice bedrooms, good beds.Great garden with orange-, olive-, fig- and walnut-trees. Big terrace with a BBQ and a family-table in the shadow of a big and very old olivetree. Very nice pool, that is being cleaned twice a week. The nearby village (5 minutes by car, a 25 minutes walk) has a proper supermarket, butcher, bakery, restaurant etc. There is a lovely restaurant at a 5 minutes walk from the house (nice terrace, romantic garden, good food and wines and when we were there live music). We made beautiful walks along the riverside and in the mountains. Also visited the villages and bodega's in the mountains. We were with 8 persons (age 18-65), all were very enthousiastic about the house and environment!Small point of improvement: a little bit more tableware would be nice (there were 8 of each item, so we had to wash a halffull dishwasher after every meal).Very kind and helpful owner. We all had a perfect holiday in Orgiva!
