We really enjoyed the design of the houses and the dinner. The dinner offered us meat with crazy good quality. We asked also to change the time of our breakfast and we were accomodated with our request
Probably we spent too much for the value we received. For 800 euros for one night we could have got a proper luxury experience

The property was very elegant, beautiful, and clean. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The open air bath was amazing and the hotel amenities were +A. Would recommend to everybody who wants a nice relaxing time in an upscale hotel. Will come back soon.

The look of the alley leading to the rooms really felt as if it was an old town. The people working at the hotel were all very ! nice and welcoming. Special thank you to the lady who dispatched a gift box to my bedroom to help me getting over the cold I had ! I also took advantage of my private outside bath !
It is a bit far from the centre and the room are really small. There are two floors but the bottom one, where the bed is, is really small. No place to put the clothes away.

Hotel is pretty. Good location, imo (not too far from places I wanted to get to, and not too close to busy main streets)
That we didn’t stay there long enough.

The room was an oasis after a hectic week in Tokyo. While the facilities were beautiful, and smelled so wonderful we bought a diffuser, the real gem was Akiko. Akiko was our server at the hotel restaurant, but ended as a friend! She was so kind and friendly, offered suggestions for our stay in Kyoto, and made us feel at home. She went above and beyond and meeting her was a highlight of our trip.
Not applicable! Everything was wonderful.

Stepping into this renovated Machiya feels like stepping into a movie set and the nightly egg sando turn-down service—my first time instead of chocolates. The location was great, and the open-air bath was fabulous—special mention for Bungo, a newly opened restaurant on the property. The food was amazing! Definitely worth a stay! Added bonus, there is a great duck soba noodle shop(110 years history) that is 3 3-minute walk from the property as well as a great BBQ yakiniku restaurant further down!

The location was excellent! Just a skip away from Gion area and several shrines and gardens. The hotel and rooms themselves were so beautiful, luxurious, and comfortable as well! I also loved that I forwarded my luggage to the hotel and it arrived before my check-in time on the day of and I was so worried that they wouldn't know whose it was or reject it, but they still accepted it so it was already there by the time we got there for check-in at 3:00! They also helped us coordinate transportation to our next place and also offered to help us coordinate getting some of our luggage shipped all the way back to America! Their staff is truly so helpful!
We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed more! I definitely recommend staying at least 3 nights here in order to get the most out of your experience and to truly enjoy the premises and its amenities.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff who showed us to the lounge with complimentary snacks, sweets, and beverages. Then we entered the mini-village where the rooms are located and it was beautiful, secluded from the busy city outside. The room was exceptionally designed, with comfortable beds, pajamas, shower, free drinks in the refrigerator, and a semi-open air bath. Upon arrival, we noticed that our air conditioning unit in the bedroom was not functioning properly, so we notified the staff and they came to fix it within a few hours. They were so apologetic about it that they even came to us with free ice cream soon after. We had breakfast in the morning at the restaurant in the “village” and it was wonderful, with very friendly staff who were accommodating and attentive. It was an incredible experience overall, and I hope to return in the future.
I had no complaints about the property itself, however it was very expensive. I would have loved to have stayed longer than one night, but the price was simply too high. It would have also been nice if the snacks and drinks in the lounge were available later than 9:30pm!

Service was amazing, special shout out to Aki…such a nice and warm person who made our stay very special with her hospitality as well as Yuka. The hot tub in the suite with the bath salts was also exceptional. Very relaxing and homely vibe.
Breakfast was OK, not bad- and overall it is a tad bit expensive for what is offered, but quite happy with the experience.

The experience was amazing. Very close to the authentic traditional experience. The dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every bit of it.
The location could have been better. And the price was a little too much for the experience delivered.

The hotel was amazing and provided a closed and private stay for our time in Kyoto.
The hotel itself consists of multiple private traditional townhouses - you could consider it more like a "compound"
Each townhouse consists of two floors, a bed room/bathroom area, and a "living" space.
On arrival the staff were immediately friendly and helpful, they explained how the hotel works and what facilities were available.
The private bath in our townhouse's garden was the highlight of our stay! The photos don't do it justice!

Clean, well organised interior and nicely restored street as exterior. Kind and very helpful staff that make you feel very welcomed, good suggestions about Kyoto and above & beyond service.
Good location not too far from shopping district, train station and Kyoto central sight seeing but nice and calm neighborhood at the same time so the city is not distracting to enjoy amenities.
Each day we were presented with different style of Japanese breakfast that represented really tasty Kyoto food as well as explanation and recommendations how to better mix each element.
Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. is wonderful choice to stay in Kyoto to greatly expand your Japanese and Kyoto experience. Can’t wait to visit again.
There wasn’t anything to dislike.

Incredible Ryokan. The villas were magnificent. It’s literally what we want our future home to look like. It’s a perfect mix of contemporary interior with traditional Japanese. And the private bath is lovely and relaxing. The exterior of the townhouses looks absolute stunning to look at especially at night when it’s the most picturesque. I felt like I’m in an old Japanese movie. The staff were cute and sweet and provided excellent service. The breakfast introduced us to some wonderful traditional Kyoto dishes like Yuba leading us to eat at Yuba restaurants for dinner two nights in a row. Would definitely come back here and also try their other hotels.
The location was quite far from the main parts of Kyoto so there wasn’t much around to do around the area and very little restaurants nearby. But the location is very peaceful.

Clean and nice
No space for luggage on ground floor. Had to lug luggage upstairs. Dinner was 11-course meal of everything beef. Quite sick towards the end of meal. It was not real onsen outdoor. Just a bath that took 30 minutes to run. And water became cold quickly as it was outdoors. Not ryokan.
