Merci

I am so sad i missed this place when first booking a trip to Cabuya. Jenny is an amazing person and especially cook, she was very attentive and we chatted for a while.
The room was very nice and comfortable, the place has a little outside gym which is amazing (feels very good to be doing something on vacation)
I highly recommend this place since you feel safe, welcome and the place has spirit.
One thing to note-there is no hot water at all. I like the concept since its really hot in cabuya, youre body needs to cool off rather than get hottter , however after a long day of ocean swimming, a warm shower is nice.

Jenny was super hospitable and able to help out with any questions we had. Wish we could’ve stayed longer! An excellent place for great value in an amazing town, would definitely recommend

Quiet place with lots of trees to relax, yet walking distance to most amenities (beach, restaurants, bakery)
I felt a little bit isolated without a car, but it was great to decompress.

The rooms and garden at Coyote rooms are very beautiful and well taken care off. Everything is clean and the owner is very helpfull.
Having your own means of transpor in Cabuya is very welcome. The rooms are not very sound proof, so you easily hear the neighbours, dogs or cars. Minor detail, the stay was excellent.

Beautiful place, quiet and surrounded by nature. Very big, comfortable, clean and nicely decorated room. Nice staff, and excellent value for money (the best we got in Costa Rica).
No hot water. Restaurant a bit pricy.

The setting was beautiful and a heaven away from the blistering heat. Jenny was lovely and sorted out laundry out immediately for $1 per kilo.
The kitchen area could be tidier with more cups provided.

A fantastic experience. Coyote Rooms is a beautiful place to stay, it’s outdoor area full of flowers and comfortable seating. The room we stayed in itself was very clean, with fresh towels everyday. The en-suite bathroom had a fresh water shower which was refreshing after a day in the sunshine. The kitchen is well-equipped and the location is brilliant. Cabuya is an authentic Costa-rican town, much less touristy than other locations in the pacific, whilst also being an easy cycle to montezuma and a hard but doable cycle to Santa Teresa (which makes for great day trips). Mountain bikes are available to rent from Jenny, the hotel owner. Jenny is just absolutely brilliant. So helpful and knowledgeable, she will go above and beyond to help her guests; reasonable price for laundry, booking shuttles and taxis, answering any questions and making delicious cocktails for a small fee, and so much more!! Could not recommend this hotel, or Cabuya, enough!

This place was truly amazing and beautiful! By far our favourite of the many places we travelled to in CR. The owner was amazing and so helpful! Highly recommend!!
Honestly I can’t think of anything! It was absolutely spectacular!

cozy room.
insects in the room like mosquitoes, small flies and spiders; only cold shower and bathroom was not so clean, the bathroom at the room had no proper doors.
We couldn’t find the right road to Cabuya as Google maps and also a sign in Montezuma were directing us up the hill. Instead we had to take the road right at the ocean. It would have been nice of the owner to tell us this before or at least when we were texting to her that we are lost… No credit card accepted, only cash and next ATM was 30 minutes by car. Again, would have been nice to know before arriving in Cabuya.

Amazing place, beautiful and functional
Well above and beyond expectations
Road was supposed to have been better to get to santa Teresa -- barely made it right after repairs in 2wd

Incredible find. One of the best pound-for-pound stays we had over a three week span in Costa Rica and Mexico. The owner designed and built bungalows in the canopy of her surrounding property; they are both modern and deliberately kept ultra affordable. The bed was really comfortable and the patios were great for sharing a cocktail and some trail stories after a long day.
Jenny was incredibly sweet, prepared her rooms on short notice, and even made us fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in the morning! She also pointed us in the direction of a fantastic soda for breakfast (the name escapes me). Muchas graçias, Jenny!
Pro tip: inquire around about the road to Mal Pais (west) before attempting during rainy season. We made it through (in a Land Cruiser) but it was certainly sketchy.

Location requires a 4x4 in rainy season for sure.

room was soo nice with a tv that had Netflix. The owner is lovely and very helpful. opposite a great restaurant we went there many times. air conditioning was great. We extended our stay because we loved it. very close to a nice beach.
quite pricey but all hotels in the area are so can’t complain.
difficult to get the bus to montezuma as they sometimes just don’t come but that’s not the owners fault of course. no taxis that pass by either. just fyi about the location

Beautiful place in a peacefull neighbourhood. Nice room with comfortable bed. Nice forest climate.

Place is as described and show in the pictures, cozy room, clean, and there are some restaurants near the hotel. if you have an appropriate car Mal País beach is 7km from the hotel and then just continue to Santa Teresa if that is the place you want to stay. kitchen is well equipped, so you can prepare your own food. Jenny (the owner) is so kind. don’t forget cards are not accepted. if you want to get relaxed and don’t be surrounded by a lot of people, that the correct place.
I would recommend to add an additional fee for the A/C. There is no pool, in case you want to cooldown. If your car is not an 4X4 you will need to drive to Montezuma and then take the route to mal país and santa Teresa. Be aware that there is a hill that if you have no experience it could be challenging.

Jenny is really nice and was allways there for us. The beds were amazing and we are super picky about beds!! ☝️
Coyote Rooms is a lovely place to stay. We really enjoyed it and would come back again.

Lovely host. Most comfortable bed we slept in. The light in the room was really good. Usually you end up with cold led which gives you an aweful feeling but our room had halogen which made it really comfortable.

First off, Jenny was as warm and welcoming as the beach, which was a short walk down the road. The room was cozy in all the best ways. The treehouse vibes were worth twice what we paid. In fact, Jenny told us she has made it a point to maintain humble prices despite the growth and demand of the area. We loved our stay and the town and wanted to bokk another night but she was full for quite some time. It was serendipitous to find a vacancy and get the chance to experience Coyote Rooms on our first night ever in Costa Rica, setting the tone for our newfound love of Montezuma/Cabuya. The food across the street was fantastic. Waking up to the smells and sounds of the jungle outside our french doors was even better.

the plants and birds, including hummingbirds, and the swings in the courtyard, and a quiet location with not far to walk into town for food and beach. all the amenities were there and functional, including a sparse communal kitchen area, toilet houses, sinks, hammocks and lounge areas, fitness room, bunks, and fan in the room. the pathways were lined with little garden vignettes which was very sweet.
however the design and layout of the place just felt kind of random and not harmonious. things that were not being used like a random extra mattress and other supplies and sinks were just kind of left around rather than stored neatly away. the restaurant was only kind of open (one evening for limited hours and then not the other evening with no signage or verbal guidance about it) and the hosts were only kind of available..she said ask us your questions but when I could find her and did ask she seemed not to be that interested in answering unless it involved us reserving additional nights. I had to go across the street to get morning coffee as no one was ever in sight at the cafe at coyote even as late as nine o’clock. I would say this place is fine and a good value for the price if you just want to be on your own and have things functional and inexpensive.

it is calm, spacious, a lot of green.

Nice place and good beds. Nice people. Family/hostel vibe.
Good shower. Great price
The kitchen for guests was a little strange with the cooking under the stairs. I would rearrange the stuff there.

Quite and nicely integrated with the environment. Also Jenny was super nice and warm
All was good.
