La localisation très proche du parc.
La gentillesse des hôtes.
Les parties communes (humidité, odeurs de moisi).
Le petit déjeuner très limité.
4.2
Super convenient location if you’re venturing into Seoraksan National park - only a 20
-30 minute walk away or a 5 minute bus ride. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms. 7/11 just round the corner, very convenient for any snacks/water you want to pick up before hiking.
Bed wasn’t comfortable, didn’t sleep very well. But everything else made up for this and we only stayed one night so it was fine.

Juste merveilleux

The proprietor was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us on a couple of occasions. Very friendly and accommodating. The shower water pressure was good. The room was basic but fine.
The bed was not super comfortable but ok. The food service was basic but ok. Food options near The Red House are extremely limited.

The location is good when you want to be in the national park early. Which is a good idea on a hot day or in high season. We were in July , low season, and it was not crowded at all.
Its a short stroll from the busstop but uphill so with suitcases challenging.
1 Restaurant closes at 5pm, other at 7pm. Veggie hard to get. 7-11 has basic options and microwave, hot water to prepare your meal.
The area has a bit of a tropical climate.
Friendly couple that run the place. The room was basic but enough space for 2 suitcases and we slep well
The interior, as mentioned by other travellers, is very oudated. It has a of a shabby atmosphere.
The room was clean but there are spots here and there that give a ln unpleasant look.
There was an afwul smell in the hallway on the 1st floor, during the whole stay. Not in the room itself.
Breakfast good but simple.
The bed was hard and so was the pillow. We slept well though.

In a great location just 20 minutes walk to the national park entrance this hotel was very comfortable and convenient for our stay. The family that own it were incredibly friendly and helpful with everything. I loved the outside seating area which was so peaceful with stunning views! There is also a 7-11 and some restaurants close by. Would definitely stay here again!
Nothing it was great!

Location and owners were exceptional. The value of the rooms is exceptional. The hotel is a less than 5 minute bus ride to the entrance of Seoraksan National Park. The owner will give you exact details as to how to ride the bus in addition to anything else you need to know. Bus stop is very near the hotel. 7-11 is very close to the hotel. You can get most essentials here. The cost of the hotel is cheap in a good way!
It is old and cluttered but the pros outweigh the cons. Also, only one restaurant open for dinner within walking distance to the hotel. But the restaurant is Korean BBQ and the staff are so nice! You can eat dinner (BBQ) outside under the night sky. what an experience!
4.2
Very helpful and welcoming staff. The room was basic but had everything we needed. Nice outside area with beautiful view and picnic tables. 25mins walk to Seoraksan NP.
The owner explained all the routes we could walk in the park.
The hotel also has a small cafe which opens 7-10pm for dinner.
We found the mattress and pillows a bit too firm!
4.2
This is a backpackers motel with good value for money
We were out of season and the avliability of places to eat around was limited.
4.2
Location close to park, very friendly owner family, dinner restaurant with some retro decoration and good vibes. Hard but good quality mattress.
The place needs some refreshing as it looks a bit tired.

Stayed for one night while exploring Seoraksan National Park, and it is perfectly located for this, a 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus from the main entrance.
Quiet comfy room with everything you need. In particular the hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided us a map and recommendations for exploring Seoraksan, including suggested paths and how long they take (which was very accurate).
Restaurants nearby close early for dinner, but 7 Eleven nearby with plenty of simple meals and the hotel provides microwave and dining area.

Very friendly and helpfull host

Extremely warm welcome from the host !!
The situation is great for an early hike in seoraksan.
Some equipment might get a bit old, but they are still perfectly fine

The host was so amazing and gave me all the information I needed for hiking as soon as I arrived. He upgraded me to my own room as there was one available and he was very welcoming. It's very close to the National Park so it was very convenient in the morning. It had ample parking.
Everything was great

-Great location for poeple who plan to hike in Seoraksan National Park

Great location and very kind and hospitable hosts who did their best to help us and teach us about the park, despite language barrier.

We liked the manager he was really lovely and explained the park and gave us maps at checkin, this was very valuable to us. Location was great, easy to walk to the park or the bus stop is very close just on the main road. clean and comfortable. Our experience here was 10/10.

Very welcoming host even on such a busy weekend. Helped us with planning our trip to the park and back to the city and had very nice recommendations. Room was big and clean.

Lovely place. Old building but everything worked great. Very clean. Amazing husband and wife innkeepers. So kind, great service. Helpful with hikes and restaurants. Enjoyed the breakfast a lot, even as Americans
Hard bed

Really lovely, friendly staff. Husband and wife team would do anything to help. Assisted us with best trails in the park, how to use public transport and how to shop for food or dinner.
Loved the close proximity to Seoraksan NP and the hikes near the cable car section of the park.
3 minutes from the bus stops to the park and to Sokcho. All round value for money.
Hearty American breakfast.
We walked the 20 minutes to the park every day which was as quick as the bus, but it did make a longer day after 5 hour hikes.
Room was OK but showing its age. Fine for overnight hikers, but needed some chairs and a table and wardrobe.
Very noisy late into the night and even at 5.30 in the morning from coach tourists that thumped around a lot and were shouting at each other. So not peaceful for other guests.
4.2
Super close to the bus stop and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was just what was needed after a long day hiking.
Nothing to do with the property but some of the other guests were really loud late at night and early morning.
4.2
The location is fantastic. Just a 20 minute walk to the entrance of the national park, so no need to wait for a bus, or sit in the inevitable queue of traffic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and the shower was great.
Expensive for the standard of accomodation, quite basic and tired, compared to the rest of SK. But this is a very touristy area, and such a great location, so you do expect to pay a premium for that.
4.2
Owners were extremely friendly and very very helpful
The room was ok but more pictures, glasses color could improve the atmosphere
4.2
Excellent location for the national park. I was able to get up early and walk 25 minutes to the park gate, before the crowds arrived at mid morning. There is also a bus that comes quite regularly. To get to the hotel from sokcho you can get a local bus which is quite regular- the same one as goes to the park entrance. The room was huge with just two bunk beds in. Everything was plain and simple, but clean and quiet. Helpful staff who let me store my bag until the afternoon while I was hiking in the park.
It’s not a luxury hotel by any means but it has everything you need. There is a 7-eleven around the corner but it isn’t open early in the morning so if you’re planning to set off early, buy your snacks the night before!
4.2
The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, he explained me the different hiking path and options nearby. The room was very spacious and the bed comfortable. The location is also very good, close to the entrance of the national park.
Some people write that the house is old. It looks and feel like many houses e.g. in Austria with lots of wood. Yes, the red house is old, but it is very clean, well maintained and everything worked very well. So no worries.
A hint for European/SouthAmerican/African alpine hikers: the popular hiking paths which you find in the national park map are extremely well build by alpine standards (T1/T2) and the altitude is quite low, so generally a very relaxing hike. There are some sleep passages though, but they are build as stairs. If you are used to longer alpine T4/T5/+ hikes, you can pack two or all three of the popular hikes into one day.
The bus to the hotel and park and hotel can be a bit unpredictable, so it's worth to take a taxi.
4.2
Staff was very helpful and breakfast nice.
Could wash our clothes, thanks!
The Area around, especially the small village to the east is a ghost town, crazy how many dead hotels/resorts there are.
Location is good as starting point to the national park / hiking.
4.2
Convenient to the National Park - 2 km to the ticket office. A simple hotel, a bit old-fashioned but very clean and comfortable. I was upgraded from dorm to a private room. There's a microwave and hot/cold water dispenser and instant coffee powder mix free in the lobby. My room had a fridge and water cooker, and the manager Mr An was gracious and helpful, supplying a good hiking map and answering questions. He also sent detailed information on getting from town by bus.
Do keep in mind the distance to the ticket office- add 30 minutes to your hiking day. I didn't find English channels on TV, but it was not important after the full-day hikes!
4.2
The location was perfect. It was very close to the park. The owners of the hotel are very nice and friendly. They gave me an opportunite to stay in a seperate room to rest before my journey! The room was clean and it was very quiet./
