When we arrived there had clearly been a mix up with accomadstion. This was quickly sorted by the owner who showed us to a bigger cabin. The location is stunning. Quiet and peaceful.
Nothing.
3.5
the kindness of the owner and his wife, and the nice diner at their place.
unfortunately we arrived late due to heavy rains and the 5 last km of track ( no road ) where touchy again due to muddy conditions
it was a bit cold 11 degrees celsius
quality of the beds and mattress bad as you could feel the springs

The lodge is a charming little house on a beautiful location. The owners were so gentle to receive is with coffee and cake and helped is later on to put the fire on to warm us up.
Breakfast outside with the sun rising and warming us up
The temperature was so low that we needed extra blankets. Luckily we find them nicely stored in the chest

Kind of remote to get disconnected from the world, amazing views and the property has beautiful landscapes. The owners are super friendly and such a good people.

Though we hardly speak any Spanish, the man of the house (who built the cabin himself) was incredibly welcoming and helpful; he even started a fire for us which we were unable to do ourselves in the Tico oven (spoiler alert: the trick is to use burning plastic). The location is fantastic; you're in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by pastures and the sounds of nature. No cell reception except on a hill somewhat nearby, so it feels worlds away. The place was very clean and the kitchen had everything you need (bring your own food and towels). All in all a very special experience.
Word of warning: do not attempt to get here with a 2WD! The route to the cabin soon turns from an okay gravel road into a horribly steep and rocky path. Glad we made it there and back in our Terios (to be fair though, a Tico would probably laugh about this :)). It gets pretty cold at night and if you light a fire in the oven, the house will smell like smoke. The matresses are pretty horrible.
