About this bed and breakfast
Located at 2500 feet elevation, we offer our downstairs, two-bedroom, one-bathroom ohana. Our house is located on a quiet 7 acre Kona coffee farm at the end of a long gated driveway. We enjoy wonderful ocean views, and cool mountain mornings. There are trees everywhere and we border the state forest. Our house is a perfect place to make your base-camp and then head out each day for your adventures.
The rental is the entire downstairs (separated from our upstairs by an exterior stair case). The downstairs has two separate bedrooms with a large family room in the middle. The kitchen has a refrigerator, sink, microwave, cook top, and toaster oven (large enough for 12" pizza or lasagna) for cooking. We have a washer and dryer in our house upstairs and can take care of your laundry for a small fee if needed.
We are located in the quiet Kona highlands in Holualoa. Up here the air is crisp, the stars are bright, and we are often blessed with afternoon showers that water our coffee and tropical plants. We are a little under 20 minutes from downtown Kona, beaches, the airport, Walmart, Safeway, Target, and Costco.
Please note the following about our property: It is our downstairs, so you will hear us at times. We have two children so on weekdays you can hear us upstairs getting ready for school. Also, it is a working coffee farm, so sometimes you may hear us mowing or doing work around the property.
Finally, living up in the wild hills, we have many animal encounters. You may see wild pigs, wild cows, turkeys, goats, pheasants, geckos, chameleons, and many beautiful birds. We have a friendly outdoor cat that may walk up to you meowing and wanting some love.
We live here and are happy to give you recommendations for activities, adventures, or answer any questions you have. If you are staying multiple days, we are sometimes available to give you a quick coffee tour. Aloha and we look forward to meeting you.
Please Note:
Your daily rate includes the following two taxes: GET Tax 4.7120% & TAT Tax 10.25%. This means there is no extra charges upon your arrival.

We really enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle. It was hard to find, but the owners gave us great instructions on how to get there. Very clean and was set up for what we needed. They even had snorkel and beach stuff for us to use, which we did on one of our adventures. We were nestled up on the mountain and were pretty protected from the hurricane. It actually made for a neat experience hearing the creek nearby get large enough to hear it from the house. We definitely will stay here again when we go back to the big island!

The place is seclusive. Very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The place is a little old, but very comfortable. Love the peacefulness and the very friendly Miao Miao :) The only thing I think could do better is parking. Since it is a very long driveway and we happened to rent a big car, it is a little difficult for us to get in and out of the property.

We stayed here at the end of our 12 day trip to the big island. It was a great way to close out the trip. The property was just as described on the listing. Everything was clean. Our kids loved the scavenger hunt using the photos on the wall and feeding Meow Meow treats. Location was great for slow relaxing mornings. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of a resort or large city.

We’re sad we only had one night here! What a beautiful location, comfortable home, and great hosts. We’d love to come back and stay longer.

The property had everything we needed plus more.
The hosts were suoer friendly when we bumped into them and and took the time to tell us about their home and some of the great things about the area.
We saw toads, a gecko, meow meow and heard the amazing night chorus of the frogs.
All this and we were staying on an actual coffee farm! Happy guests all round.

After spending two nights inside Volcanoes national park and two nights in the touristy part of Kailua Kona, staying in this quiet and tranquil property for our last two nights was the perfect way to end our vacation! It is away from the main tourist hub and yet close enough to get to restaurants in Kailua Kona within 15 min. We enjoyed the resident cat Meow Meow, the sheep on the farm, the lush coffee trees and the mesmerizing morning clouds that enveloped the tree tops. The clouds clear by the afternoon and you can see the ocean in the distance! We found the space comfortable and spacious, and our host both friendly and attentive to our needs.

The house was clean and cozy feeling, on a beautiful property in a great location. They provided everything our family of 4 needed for our stay, and Kendall even came down to introduce himself and give us some great tips for exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend Kendall and his home.

The location was great, in the highlands above Kona with a partial ocean view. This is a downstairs unit with the property owners living upstairs. We are early risers and didn't mind the mild noise that comes from getting kids off to school. The cat was a riot trying to make us cave in and give her treats. If you stay here bring quarters - Meow Meow will be very happy!

We had the absolute best time staying at this property on the Big Island! The hosts were so friendly, responsive, and accommodating during our stay, and roast some darn good Kona coffee. They were kind enough to give us some samples at the start of our stay! The house had plenty of amenities for our week stay, some basic condiments, plenty of cookware, snorkel/beach gear, and even some toiletries. It was very clean and well taken care-of, and they included extra towels already in our room which was great, as we stayed for 6 nights. The roaming cat Meow-Meow was a highlight, as she greeted us in the mornings and evenings when we returned and kindly begged us for some treats, which we were happy to oblige! The location was perfect for us - we had a rental car, and were able to reach all parts of the island with this as our home base. Very close to downtown Kona, and in a beautiful, scenic location up on the mountain side where you can see the ocean from the lanai :) My friends and I said we would stay here again in a heartbeat should we ever get to come back to this beautiful island! 10/10 highly recommend this spot!

The property was very clean and comfortable. It was surrounded by coffee plants up on a hill in a very nice and quiet area. We enjoyed the photos on the wall and the trivial questions. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the property. I would definitely recommend it to travelers.

We really enjoyed our stay here high above the Kailua-Kona coast! The place was very comfortable, as described, and the hosts had clearly thought of everything a guest might need. We especially appreciated seeing coffee bushes just steps away from the front porch, and great sunset views over the sea. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Kendall was a very welcoming host and made sure we had a good time on our vacation. The property was off the beaten path - not a ton to do nearby, but no complaints because we enjoyed the quiet and nature sounds. The rental was set up nicely and well-stocked, plus we got to learn more about growing coffee. I did have a hard time sleeping on the bed because it was on the softer side (just fair warning for folks like me who need a firm mattress). Otherwise, kitchen was great to have and Meow-Meow (the family cat) frequently petitioned us for treats and attention. We purchased some Kona Wild coffee to take home and would definitely like to come back in the future.

The location is of the beaten path which we enjoyed! Very peaceful at night. Host was great - quick responses to any inquiry I made! Everything was clean and kitchen had everything you could need - including two sample packs of coffee from the owners coffee farm. Laundry service by the host is a bonus. Will stay here next time we are in Kona!

20 minutes from just about everything. Never heard the family in the main house. Wonderful location to decompress from any touristy activities. Notably colder and less humid than down on the beach. The evenings are serenaded by lovely frogs and wildlife noises. Highly recommended.

We stayed three nights down in Volcanoes but wanted a closer spot to the Kona airport for our last night on Big Island. This worked well for getting in final beach time and it was so close to the airport! Views were beautiful. Wish we had more time to enjoy the coffee farm!

This rental is located a close drive to kona and the beaches but high up the mountain in the cool refreshing air and large homesteads. The beds were super comfortable and there is a spacious living room and outside lanai area. The hosts were easy and prompt to communicate with kind and our children enjoyed playing together in the morning. The views of the ocean down the hill were stunning. We would definitely stay here again when the opportunity arises!

Had a wonderful stay at Kendall’s basement house at Kona Wild. The house was cool, we had plenty of fresh towels and we had good coffee! Would absolutely book again. Loved being in the midst of nature not too far from Kona. Loved how much space there was for dive gear and that Kendall had snorkeling equipment and beach chairs. Very nice touch.

The unit was better than advertised, extremely clean, well maintained, and provided a peaceful up country rural experience close to a charming small art town. Next time we're on the big island we plan to stay longer. The host was very friendly and he sells fresh eggs and coffee. A definite do over.

Everything about the place is just even better in person. Peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful. It is a perfect little base camp for exploring as well as a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view. Gracious hosts and wonderful atmosphere. We were able to grab foods to prepare at Costco and then head up the “hill”, about a 20 minute drive. The coffee and photography is an added bonus. When we next go back to Kona-this is where we will stay!

Unfortunately we didn't get to spend so much time here on the 1 day we stayed here. We got to the property a little late after adventuring on the other side of the Island before we arrived.
But I really wish we could have had a full day to relax in it. The property grounds are beautiful, with coffee trees all in your view from the lanai. The sunset was beautiful to watch here and even the drive up to the property is gorgeous.
There's a full kitchen for cooking if you like, beds were comfortable, there is pictures on the living room wall that were for sale that unfortunately I didn't have room for in our luggage to purchase.
We also enjoyed the visit and gift from sweet meow, meow. We love animals and we always enjoy the visits from these little fur babies. So that's always a plus with our stays
Kendall was a very nice and responsive host.
Thank you for our stay, can't wait to make another trip and stay a little longer next time.
