Welcome to the gated community of Charleston Oceanfront Villas! This 3-bedroom, 3-bath (Sleeps 8) condo offers direct private beach access and fantastic oceanfront views from a private covered balcony. Amenities include 2 oceanfront pools with lounge chairs, 2 elevators, and 4 public outdoor showers.
Directly facing the ocean, guests will enjoy the unobstructed panoramic views of the beach from the 27-foot private covered balcony. Featuring an open floor plan that includes the kitchen, dining room and living room areas, this villa is perfect for entertaining family and friends. The dining table has 8 comfortable seats with an additional 4 seats at the adjacent bar off the kitchen. The oceanfront main bedroom features a memory foam king bed and a full on suite bathroom with dual sinks, a tub, and a separate walk-in shower. Down the hall, the second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed attached to a full bathroom that is also accessible from the hallway. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds with access to the third full bathroom. This oceanfront getaway is the perfect place to put your feet up and enjoy the ocean breeze!!
Folly Beach, or as locals refer to it, The Edge of America, is a laid-back, golf-cart-friendly community with many great restaurants, a booming nightlife, plenty of shopping, water activities, and water tours. For more historic exploring, the famous Downtown Charleston is only a 25 - minute car ride, which offers endless fine dining, shopping, historical sites, and more. There is something for everyone here. We promise you will Folly in love with this beautiful island!

I have to admit that I was quite shocked to see the condition of this unit after reading so many 10/10 reviews. I specifically chose this unit over others and want to provide some detail so that others don’t feel the same.
Let’s first address what IS a 10 for this property:
- the location is phenomenal and there are several restaurants just feet away
- the views are amazing - you can watch the waves from the master bedroom while resting in bed and on the sofa
- the communication from the rental company was proactive, kind, and professional
- this unit has a great floorplan

The pictures are overly complimentary for what we experienced. It wasn’t quite up to 600/night, in my opinion. This unit is in need of many updates to floors, windows, doors, kitchen, bathrooms, furniture and better quality linens in order not to appear as more of a “motel” experience. Location is good, beachfront is of course nice. The door to the balcony was quite difficult to open and shut however and the handle broke the last day of our stay. Security on windows and doors is also remiss. I was told not to worry because “this isn’t New York City” but when I’m traveling, especially with a little one, security is of utmost importance, no matter where we are. There were some other hiccups as well but I won’t describe them all here. The property managers were nice and attentive to trying to get things fixed but the unit is just old.

Our family wanted an impromptu winter weekend at the beach and this was the perfect spot. We loved being right on the beach and in easy walking distance from restaurants, shops, and the pier. We didn’t need to drive anywhere all weekend.
The apartment was spacious and clean. And we loved the thoughtful, personal recommendations the owners left for guests.

The condo was right on the beach & very close to restaurants. We didn’t have to drive anywhere to get something to eat. It was fun watching the birds dive into the water and the surfers in the mornings. The pool water temps were chilly, so all that went in them was my big toe. Walked all along the beach, just loved it.
The only drawback was no laundry soap was to be found anywhere in the condo. I’ve never stayed at a place that didn’t have at least 4 loads worth.

The proximity to the beach, two pools, and walking distance to restaurants and Bert's market make this the ideal location, whether traveling as a family, couple, or group of friends. The condo itself is clean and well appointed and offers an oasis to relax in cool AC after a day in the sun, recharging for the next day's activities.

This condo was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and there was plenty of space and everyone had their own bathroom. The view from the deck and living room is amazing. The unit has some nice upgrades and everything was very clean. In walking distance to all of Folly's restaurants. We will definitely be coming back!

We love this property. Just perfect for our family, to include 4 adults and a 4 and 10 yo. Pool were perfect ending to a beach day. Kids loved it. Close local restaurants, good food choices. We will be back !!

We enjoyed our stay at COV. It was super clean upon arrival & had everything we needed for our stay. Loved hanging out on the balcony, listening to the waves & enjoying the amazing view. Location can’t be beat. Maybe 2 blocks from the main strip on Folly so we didn’t have to get in our car the entire stay & enjoyed walking to dinner every night. Room is right by the stairs so it was easy to use those when we didn’t need to use the elevator. The only negative was the master bed…wasn’t the most comfortable bed but it wasn’t the worst. Other than that, highly recommend & would definitely stay here again. Thanks for sharing your amazing condo with us!

The condo was spacious and had everything we needed.. except for the board games shown in pics of the property. Great layout with each kid having their own room and bathroom at the rear of the condo. Our room was facing the ocean with our own bathroom. We enjoyed the large lanai facing the ocean. The pools were nice but the lounge chairs were very uncomfortable and there were no umbrellas for a bit of shade. Only problem happened on our second day when our key fobs would not open the entrance gate. I called and was promptly given a code. Overall the condo was amazing and Folly Beach is the quintessential beach town!

You can’t find a better location to enjoy the ocean. We have stayed at this complex in the past and may again in the future. However, I won’t stay in this particular unit again. We were disappointed to find that although the unit is advertised to accommodate 6-8 people, there were only 4 worn out deck chairs. Since we are older and had family who could only enjoy the ocean from the deck we were forced to buy our own chairs to use on the deck. The bed in the master bedroom was also very uncomfortable. These units rent for a premium price. So the guests should not expect to not have enough setting for everyone.

The property was clean and comfortable. Very nicely decorated. Of course the views from the balcony were just beautiful. The location of the condo to restaurants and shops is great. We would definitely stay there again.
The only downside( and I do say this lightly) is more seating on the balcony would be nice. Also the faucet in the second bedroom was not working properly.

Overall, the Charleston Oceanfront Villas are excellent - good location and good views. For the amount of money demanded for a weekly oceanfront rental, however, portions of this specific condo were subpar, in my opinion. I can say this because I have stayed at other condos in the Charleston Oceanfront Villas. Most of the issues were in the master bedroom/master bath area. First, I was refunded the linen fee by the management company due to what appeared to be dirty sheets on the bed in the master bedroom when I arrived. Extra sheets were later delivered and we washed the sheets ourselves. Multiple walls in the master bedroom were covered with dust - dust easily visible to the eye. While the condo was generally clean when we arrived, these two issues reflect less than stellar cleaning services and a “get them out, get them in” mentality on transition days. There were also multiple locations in the master bathroom where paint was chipping off the ceiling, to include above the double sink area. The paint chipping off the ceiling in the master bathroom shower area was particularly bad, and it looked like most of the ceiling in the master bedroom shower was patched. When I arrived, there was also a long piece of black rubber hanging off the bottom of the shower door (assume it was some sort of water barrier gasket). Honestly, this set the tone for the week and I still wonder why I was left to deal with it upon arrival. The light fixture in the master bedroom closest was essentially just a circular hole in the ceiling with a visible light bulb - no finish. The curtains in both the master bedroom and by the sliding glass doors leading out to the balcony were stained with something that looked like barbecue sauce. I tried to clean one of them with no luck. The Amazon TV service in the main seating area stopped working two days into the stay. Thankfully, the management company was very responsive in solving that problem. There were a few light bulbs available but not much else (to include basic tools), so simple self help isn’t much of an option for renters. Bottom line: I don’t intend to stay at Go Fly a Kite again. I strongly encourage someone to give this place some love and pay attention to the details (especially in the master bedroom/master bath areas). People are being asked to pay an awful lot of money to stay in a condo near the beach. It should be the commitment of those making this condo available for rent to make it worth every single penny.
