This was our second trip to the island. Last one was with extended family for our vow renewal. This time it was just the 2 of us and lemon drop was perfect. Comfortable, private, and close to the beach. The hottub was so relaxing. The house had everything we could need. I absolutely loved the rain shower head in the main bathroom. Wonderful. The island is slowly coming back. We'll be back for sure.

The lemon drop property had everything we needed. This was our second trip to Captiva. Having the pool and hot tub with the kids was wonderful. This property is a short walk or a quick cart ride to one of the most beautiful beaches on the Island. We had a wonderful stay. Can’t wait to go back again!

The house was absolutely perfect! Everything you would want or need was provided. Located just down from the beech. Shelled every morning with our dog for hours. We will be back next year. BEST HOUSE ON THE ISLAND!

We were fortunate to enjoy three weeks on North Captiva. We sure didn’t miss the cold weather and snow back home. The island is pure relaxation. You unplug and wander the sandy beaches (and roads) to your heart’s content. Followed, of course, by a nap on one of the comfy beds at the Lemon Drop. We are already booked for next year! Be sure to enjoy many drinks and meals at Mangos. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic house and location. Our three kids aged 7, 9 & 12 loved the heated pool and hot tub. The included golf carts were great and we had so much fun exploring the island. What an incredible island! The house had everything we could have possibly needed and Genny the owner and Tortuga Properties were excellent to deal with. Would highly recommend staying here and we can't wait to go back to North Captiva. What a great family vacation spot.

My family of 5 had a wonderful stay at the Lemon Drop. The home was spotless and well-stocked. Both bathrooms were beautifully updated and a new fold out couch was also there, which was very comfortable.
Genny was very communicative and easy to reach with any questions. Tortuga was extremely helpful, picking us up at the ferry, responding to questions, and dropping us at the ferry for our very early departure.
We loved our trip and hope to be back again next year.

We had an incredible stay at the Lemon Drop. While we knew Hurricane Ian had caused extensive damage to the island, Genny and Paul could not have been more welcoming and grateful for our visit and went out of their way to make our vacation incredible. The beaches were amazing and the home was so comfortable. The pool and hot tub were so fun! The newly renovated master bath was beautiful. The home is well stocked for cooking and grilling. The location of the home is perfect for walking to the beach and with the supplied golf cart we could tour the island and visit the two open restaurants. One of our favorite moments was our boat tour with Captain Deb and watching the dolphins play behind the boat! Experience of a lifetime! Thank you again Genny and Paul for everything!

We loved the Lemon Drop!
We really enjoyed our time on North Captiva! The house was cozy but the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. They even had a pancake griddle! With three small children, we enjoyed the pool (with plenty of beach towels provided) and collecting shells at the beach. The outdoor shower and “shell washing station” was my 3 y/o’s favorite thing. We enjoyed the stress free island life where everything is just a golf cart ride away. The washer/dryer were also a plus and plenty of soap, etc was provided. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! Genny has done a wonderful job making sure you have all you need.

Absolute Paradise
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trip. The Lemon Drop vacation home left us wanting for nothing. It was immaculate, well furnished, close to the beach, had a heated pool and hot tub, golf carts to navigate the island, wildlife was abundant (dolphins, manatee, gopher tortoise, bald eagle, osprey) the list goes on.
The owners were amazing to work with and helped navigate the whole process of living on an island for a week. Communication was fantastic and they put so much thought and love into their vacation home.
When you need to escape from the noise of the world… we highly recommend renting The Lemon Drop. We can’t wait to book again!!

Amazing experience
We loved staying at the Lemon Drop. Such a cozy cottage atmosphere. Decor felt like home. Walk to the beach was so close. Spent most of our down time in the pool. Alot of sunshine on the pool area! Ginny and Paul are awesome. Tortuga Properties were so efficient handling our "in" and "out" moving. Love this island!

Lemon drop didn’t disappoint!!!
Hurricane Elsa was the highlight of the vacay but we made the best of our stay after it passed. The house is very cute, clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway! Thanks lemon drop!

Little Slice of Paradise
The location of the home on the island is outstanding - Gulf and Bay views from the rooftop, about a minute golf cart ride to the beach, and a few minutes to island store and boat rental. The home was incredibly clean. Full kitchen was completely stocked and had all necessary tableware, silverware, cookware, bakeware, etc. Appliances are new. Washer and dryer was very convenient. Two golf carts provided for use which was great when loading beach gear, chairs, etc., which is also provided for use. Kids really enjoyed the pool and my wife and I enjoyed the jacuzzi. The outdoor shower was also used daily. Would highly recommend, and will most definitely be back!

Great first trip to North Captiva
We loved every minute of our stay at the Lemon Drop. The house was the perfect size for our family of five and we had everything we needed for a perfect week in North Captiva. Genny was very accommodating and even sent new beach umbrellas during our stay because the existing one was broken when we arrived. The pool was fabulous and greatly enjoyed by our kids. I look forward to our next trip to North Captiva and will definitely return to the Lemon Drop for our stay!

Awesome place to stay!
Lemon Drop is a wonderful place to stay on the Island. The house is so clean and wonderfully furnished and stocked. We had everything we needed to enjoy a week here. The pool area is wonderful and the chairs so comfortable to lay in the sun (loved the bright blue pillows too). We didn't use the hot tub so can't comment on that but I'm sure it's great as everything else was. Beds were comfy too. We had our groceries shopped and stocked which in my opinion is the only way to go. Duncan @Tortuga was very responsive if we needed anything and Genny the owner is totally responsive and caring for your needs, even texting me with little hints for staying on the Island. You won't go wrong staying here. Thank you Genny for sharing your wonderful home!!

The Lemon Drop location on the island is ideal- just steps from the main beach & the nature trail into the state land, both places you will find yourself revisiting over and over on this idyllic island. The fact that the house is pet friendly is a plus as this is a very dog friendly island and a place your pet will love if you are considering bringing them. The house is very clean, with some new appliances & a very large washer/dryer. The few questions we had were answered immediately by the management company and the owners themselves. Do yourself a favor and order all your groceries via the management company. It's worth the fee not to try and manage the groceries(and keep everything frozen/cold) on a ferry. Because of Covid concerns, we ate every meal at the house, opting not to frequent the island's 3 restaurants. The house was well equipped for handling all of our cooking needs, including grilling. Linens, pillows, beds were good for what you would expect in a rental. Wi-fi, the Tv's, golf carts, grill...all worked well with no issues. One thing I would note is that the living/sleeping areas are on the same level, something I missed in the rental listing. If you have late sleeper and early risers in your group (as we did), bring noise cancelling headphones. Actually, it's probably a good item to bring regardless as the island does have construction on new houses going on sporadically all over the island. The best advice I can give in general is be realistic about your vacation. Staying on NC isn't like a vacation at the Ritz, but what it does provide is an honest connection with your family (or whomever you are traveling with) that starts with coffee and sunrises and ends with cocktails watching the sun set. It allowed for games and laughs around a table at night, and feeble attempts at recreate the best pancakes in the mornings. It's peaceful place...honest and low-key in a world needs more of that.

Piece of Paradise
My wife and I LOVE North Captiva Island and this home made it all the sweeter. It was clean, management was extremely responsive, just a short walk to the beach, and the private pool/hot tub where great! It was also nice to bring our dog along - as he was a huge fan!
We would recommend this property to anyone and look forward to coming back to this home - hopefully very soon!!

House shows 2 Golf Carts - But they do not work! Get Ready To Walk!!
I picked this house because it came with 2 nice looking golf carts. The Black golf cart NEVER worked and the Red golf cart axle broke on the 3rd day. I have pictures of the Red golf cart that shows the lack of concern from the home owner to provide a safe operating golf cart. The home owner (Paul) texted the price to fix the golf cart, which is more than what his golf cart is worth! TOTAL EXTORTION FROM HOME OWNER!!!!
The property is managed by Tortuga and they are impossible to deal with. They told us it was their day off and they were short handed!
CHECK WITH TORTUGA'S WORK SCHEDULE BEFORE YOU PLAN YOUR FAMILY VACATION.

Loved it here!!
We had a wonderful stay! Ginny is a wonderful host! The home was beautiful, the island was beautiful, the experience was beautiful. We found a ton of seashells and Sand dollars. We saw a shark. We saw manatees at Mangos restaurant and at various docks. We saw a bald eagle and Osprey fighting over a speckled trout that they dropped on the deck. So cool! The view early morning and night from the top deck is spectacular. The beaches were nice and clean and the water is beautiful like only Florida water can be. Having the golf carts to move around the island was very nice. We had wonderful weather we slept with the windows and doors open most nights. It was nice having the hot tub on those cool days. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
