Raj and crew were super attentive throughout our stay. Owner was very communicative leading up to our trip. The house was perfect for our group of 4 and the bonus room is very relaxing to listen to the ocean and wind through the trees. Very happy with our stay!

Best house we've stayed in on the island. The location was great and the views from the upper decks were amazing, during the day and night. The wrap around deck was lovely with patio sets all the way around, and my husband and son loved the hammocks(there are 3). The layout of the house worked well for the 4 of us. My son loved staying on the top floor and having his private space. I liked the octagon shape of the house so much because of the decks. The decor and furnishings are good with really comfortable beds. When we were out and about we would run into the caretaker Raj and his wife. We really enjoyed talking with them, such nice people!!! The owner and caretaker are the best! Great communication before, during, and after our trip. Highly recommend this house!

This is our 2nd year at LaySea 8. We enjoy house because it is so close to the beach and reserve.
It is a very comfortable home. When we are not at the beach we spend all of our time an the deck relaxing in hammocks or just chilling with family.
We will definitely be back in 2024!

Great!
Beautiful as always. Our favorite location. House is also beautiful but needs a few small things. Just a bit of TLC. But Cheryl and Jenny are great and the communication is fantastic. Second time booking this house.

Island Life as it Should Be
LaySea 8 is a wonderful place to spend time on North Captiva Island. Comfortable, clean and quiet. all of the needed amenities (and then some) are provided. Within easy walking distance to an amazing shell-covered Gulf of Mexico beach. The decor gives it a great sense of place; bright, open, airy and very island-like. The Florida Keystone fireplace is beautiful. The wrap-around screened deck allows one to be outside to enjoy the island salt air breezes in comfort. The octagon shaped loft with 360 degree windows provides amazing views of the island, in air conditioning on those hot Florida summer afternoons. And the captain's walk... From three floors up on the captain's walk you can see for miles in every direction. It is a great place to watch the sunrise over Pine Island Sound and sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. The host and property managers were a pleasure to deal with – friendly and responsive. This home is a true gem!

Escape to North Captiva
We enjoyed our stay on the island. Jenny, the property Mgr, and her staff were very nice and helpful. They transported our luggage to and from the boat and gave us a little tour upon arrival.
The house was casual, which allowed us to relax and nap in the hammocks, and very close to the beach. The included golf cart was very convenient for buzzing down to the beaches or any of the island businesses. We loved our stay!! ❤️

Relaxing retreat
I cannot say more wonderful things about this property. The unique shape and style of this home allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the 360 degree porch at all times of day comfortably. The house was well kept and comfortable for my family of 4. My two young children enjoyed the bonus room upstairs while my husband and I loved having our morning coffee on the rooftop deck. The homeowner answered our questions and concerns almost immediately and made sure that we knew every step to take to make the grocery order, ferry, shuttle and other details easy for us. Jenny, the house manager was also readily available. She met us at the dock and gave us a tour of the island and even helped us to unpack. The location of this home is honestly the best on the island. The golf cart was so much fun and was very easy to use. The house also came equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys for the kids. It is steps away from the best wide, sandy beach filled with the most beautiful shells. It was the most relaxing, peaceful trip we have ever taken with our family. We were so grateful to Cheryl for sharing this amazing home with us.

Beautiful place to refill your bucket!
This place is a gem. My favorites are the amazing view at the top of the house, the huge wrap around porch, and the time and energy the owners put into making quiet spaces all around to relax and enjoy the Floridian beauty. We didn't want to leave!

LaySea8 - peaceful paradise!
LaySea8 was just perfect for our family! It is such a comfortable house with so many sweet spots to relax -hammocks, sitting areas, lounge chairs and roof top deck . Screened in deck was a perfect retreat for meals. It is close to the reserve which makes for a great walking area and quick walk or golf cart ride to beach. We can't wait to re-book LaySea8 for 2023. Thank you Cheryl and Jenny for making our stay on North Captiva so easy!

Ideal Location
We loved our time at LaySea 8! It is located on the last road right across from the nature preserve, which means it is very quiet. It’s an easy walk to the beach. The house itself is so comfortable, the best feature of which is its incredible 8-sided screened-in porch. We ate all of our meals out there and enjoyed the three hammocks and other lounging furniture.
Cheryl (owner) and Jenny (property manager) were absolutely wonderful—easy to communicate with and very responsive.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Summer 2021
Sweet little property and perfect for a small group. It was just me, my husband and our daughter traveling this time so perfect size. The upstairs has gorgeous 360 degree views and was a perfect spot for morning coffee and afternoon reading during the rain showers. The property is in need of updating in some areas (2nd bath) but the owners renovation of the master bath is excellent so I feel like this will come with time. The kitchen was excellently stocked for any cooking you need to do. All in all perfect location if what you want to do is sit on a beach and relax! Which we did.

AMAZING!
I don't think you could pick a better location. This house is so close to the prettiest beach on the island. The house and amenities were more than we could have anticipated. We had such an amazing week. Check in was easy, and Cheryl responded so quickly to answer my questions and made us feel welcome. Thank you for letting is stay in your house in paradise. Cant wait until next time!

Clean and comfortable house, great location
This is a clean and comfortable house in a great location (2-3 minute walk from the beach). It's not super posh but it had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the upstairs room (360 degree views) and the crow's nest. The outdoor shower and included golf cart are MAJOR benefits!
Communication with the owner was fast and easy. Every time I sent Cheryl an e-mail I got a response almost immediately. She was extremely helpful with info on the ferry, the grocery delivery service, restaurants on the island, etc. Really a pleasure to deal with.
Finally, Jenny the property manager was great. She picked us up at the ferry with carts and a trailer to haul our luggage, gave us a quick tour, and restaurant / activity recommendations. She also sent someone to change a smoke detector battery that started chirping in the middle of the night (it was way too high on the ceiling to reach w/o a big ladder). Problem solved the next morning.
