Great place to stay!
6.0 / 10.0
Hi there, this was a pretty house, with comfortable beds and a relatively well stocked kitchen. However, in our view it was not good value for the price. We stayed at a 5 star resort in Pacific city and paid less for our two night stay there. Access to the beach was also quite difficult and not portrayed that way in the listing. The outside of the house is quite run down and needs attention. In particular, the path to get beach needs to be cut back- we had difficulty getting through the long grass. All in all, cute house but a bit disappointing.

Very cute remodel. We love being right on the beach and having the big windows on both sides of the house with view of the bridge and the beach.

The house was well stocked, and it was a great weekend getaway to the beach!

We rented the house the weekend of a winter storm. It was icy, windy, and cold outside. The house was a great place stay inside and walk to the ocean when we could brave the weather.

Our group consisted of family members. We did 3 days of crabbing and fishing and were very successful. We also walked one the beach, collected shells and rocks, and the grand kids built sand castles. The weather was beautiful and we were all able to relax, visit, and enjoy ourselves.
The upstairs had two bedrooms, and a full bathroom with shower. Just a note that it would be nice to have a vent in the upstairs bathroom to help cover noise from the bathroom
The basement had 4 single bunkbeds plus a pullout couch. The washer and dryer were located in the downstairs bathroom, with a toilet, vent, and sink.
It was just a short walk over the hill to the beach. We loved our stay.

We loved the oceanfront beach house. Everything we needed was provided. The location was perfect and convenient to stores. We didn’t get a chance to use the community pool but hope to the next time we rent this house.

Some people have complained that the property is not right on the beach, but I loved the small dune/grassy area right by the house. It was so much fun for my kids to explore. And seriously, the beach is sooo close by. I loved the downstairs bunk area. My kids had a blast having their own area. It was the relaxing vacation I had hoped I would have.

Property is in a good location, but it’s not beach front. You can’t actually see the beach from the house, you have to walk a trail over a hill to the beach. That wasn’t a big deal for us though. What we were disappointed with was the shower. We knew it was only one full bath when we rented and the photos cleverly hide how ridiculously tiny the shower is. The house is decorated cute but it’s old and in need of a remodel- but the bathroom shower, especially for only having one full bath, is pretty bad. The other thing thing we didn’t like was that the entire house smell’s musty and old and it was not clean. Everything was dusty, and the kitchen counter was sticky.
We were charged a pretty expensive cleaning deposit so hopefully the next renters have a better experience than us.
There is an app for check in/out and a rental office number to call during regular business hours, so no way to let them know the house smelled bad and was not clean since we stayed over the weekend.
Our recommendation is to pass on this house and stay somewhere a little newer with more than one full bath.

The beach is amazing and my pups loved running up and down chasing each other. The sound of the waves while I slept was amazing. The house was comfortable. The shower is very small and the shower head low which would not work for anyone over 5’6”. Or at least be a struggle. The house does need a deep clean. Everything worked well and spent a lot of time at the beach. You can hear the traffic from the main road pretty clearly too. Waldport is a fun little town to explore.

Beautiful, sunny home right on the beach. Great fit for families with dogs.

The place was nice. The kitchen was outdated bud the beds in the rooms were very comfortable. The biggest problem was the access to the beach. Several sand dunes with soft sand to get to the beach. This made it difficult to bring items with you or a small child. Overall good experience

This was a perfect spot for us. The downstairs bedroom/pingpong room was used by 4 of us late into each night. Upstairs was great for playing family board games around the dining room table. We brought our own, but the owners also provided games and puzzles.
The beach was spectacular-perfect for long walks and wiffle ball. Good fishmarket to the north (15 minute drive) and lots of fruit and vegetable stands along the road.

Perfect beach house
This house is a gem! I stayed with my family- husband, teenage son and dog. It is exactly like the photos! The beach is incredible and the views of the dunes and the bay are great. It is the cutest beach house ever and was newly painted so even cuter than photos if possible. The property managers were responsive as well. I saw a review of no towels, and I couldn't find extra towels so I called the prop manager and she had me look in the dryer- bingo! But they would have brought some down and they are just up the street. I also saw a sticky counter review, it is just the cleaning products and it wipes right off. The kitchen has lots of utensils but could use more cooking and prep items. My only complaint was plates and glasses. ONE pint glass and ONE wine glass in the entire place- a beach house! Also, almost all the dinner plates are chipped. I was surprised because so much thought has gone into the decor and layout. Not sure if owners or property managers are responsible for replacing these items but it was not in character with the rest of the rental. I bought a few kitchen items to use and left them there for the next guest. The beds were probably the best beds any of us have ever slept on (always a fear with rentals) and couches were so cozy. This is such a cute and comfy house. You can't beat the beach and the location. The town of Waldport is not much to see but the neighboring towns are great and the bayshore beach area where the house is located is one of the best beaches. Go to Hill Top Cafe in Waldport or dine out at Yachats. Highly recommend this beach house, it is set up well for people with dogs and or kids if you are looking for that but could be a romantic getaway or good space for two couples.

Wonderful location and house, disappointing amenities
Lovely house and great location! It’s just a short walk over a small dune to a pristine beach that had very people on it! However, we did have just a couple of disappointments. The house lists that a baby gate, a child’s high chair, a pack ‘n play, and beach towels are provided for the stay. When we arrived, the baby gate was broken and unusable, there was no high chair or pack n play, which made things very difficult traveling with out 10 month old. We were a party of 4, but only 2 towels were provided, and there were no beach towels. On top of that, many of the surfaces were sticky when we arrived, and the dishes in the cupboard had dried food all over them. So I ended up having to do some cleaning and dishes when I arrived. But my family did have a very nice, relaxing time together at this house.
