House is perfect for a for a large family, just pay attention that there are only 2 bathrooms, I did not notice that when I booked, but we made it work. Older house with a lot of character, we loved it and the decor. We did not hangout at the house too much because we were out and about, but big enough to hang out and be very comfortable. Location was great. Host was great and very responsive from booking to departure.

Ryan is a very good host. We forgot clothes and he packaged them up and sent them back to us. It was a great location for the airport. It was a great location to eat food and go out. We had a great time. My son got married at Aldridge Gardens.

The house is beautiful and the location is great. Very comfortable beds and very clean inside. Nicely decorated. I like the old feel of it however just a few things to keep in mind. Some doors don't close properly, upstairs sink run slowly. There are no curtains on some windows downstairs and the yard was not kept. Bonus room on the 3rd level is beautiful! Overall I really like the place and would recommend. One more thing, keypad was difficult to operate however it could have been my problem.

I would not rent this home in the future. When we walked up to the front door I noticed a large cob web on the mail box next to the front door. That gave me a clue that the cleaning person did not care much. When I opened the door It smelled very old and musty. The smell made it feel dirty. I could not sleep very well because of the smell. The floors were not swept very well. All the bedrooms are upstairs. The floor and doors creak very loudly and wake others up when someone gets up in the middle of the night. Tried to open windows to air out the place. Only a few windows open. Many had cob webs and one had a dead bug. The back porch is unusable. The boards are rotten and soft and should be replaced. The patio furniture and outdoor rug is disgusting and should be replaced. When you use your hair dryer the lights flicker. The room on the third floor doesn’t smell as bad as the rest of the house. But it doesn’t have air conditioning so gets hot during the day. It has a very loud squeaky fan. The nicer bathroom and shower is downstairs. The upstairs bathroom has a very slow draining sink and the bathtub shower combo was not appealing. There were no dressers in the bedrooms. The basement was creepy. Did not want to go down there to do laundry. The home did have lots of room and the TV worked. Refrigerator is new. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. I learned my lesson. Not renting an old historic home in the future. I usually don’t leave bad reviews but I had to be honest. All the good reviews swayed me to rent this home but I did not have a good experience.

The historic house was a wonderful substitute for the typical "cookie-cutter" places to stay in cities. Large rooms and enclosed backyard provided ample space and privacy in a downtown setting. The host reached out during the stay with pertinent information. Thank you for sharing this historic house with us!

When I saw the pics of this place online I thought it was beautiful. A little overpriced, but beautiful. The whole house was full of dust. There was hair from previous tenants all over the upstairs bathroom floor. The faucet was loose, and there were many other little things that had just not been tended to in a while. When I mentioned to the owner that we would not be able to use the dirty tub, he responded that the dirt in the tub was “vintage”. The windows were covered with cobwebs. There was hair and pills under the bed. Many of the outlets did not work, and while I did not expect an old house like this to have USB ports, it would have been nice if the owner had installed multi outlets instead of the one lonely extension cord that was available in a bedroom upstairs. The floor in the kitchen clearly had not been mopped. There were smudges of old food on and in the cabinets in the kitchen. The house simply was not clean. The owner did send a cleaning lady out to the house, but she only cleaned the upstairs bathroom the third day of our 4 day stay. And she had an attitude, and rudely asked us to evacuate the whole house while she only lightly cleaned the upstairs bathroom. The owner refused to even partially refund the cleaning fee. I was extremely disappointed given the amount of money I paid for this house. The owner’s responses to all my complaints were generic, pre-written responses that did not fully address my concerns. A warning to all of you who are seduced by the online pics. This home has not been cleaned in some time, and not worth the high price you will pay.
