About this house rental

Single story cottage located directly on Jimmerson Lake with pier and small sandy beach area. Originally built in the 1950's by owner's grandparents, the home has been charmingly re-decorated and has a large deck with excellent sunset views. Jimmerson Lake is a 203 acre lake that is popular for fishing and is also open to skiers. The cottage is located on a large cove of the lake with less ski boat traffic making it easier to float or swim. Take your boat and access all the lakes on the Lake James chain including Jimmerson Lake, Lake James (1,039 acres), Snow Lake (421 acres), Big Otter Lake and Little Otter Lake.
The cottage is the perfect relaxing retreat for a family or avid fishermen who plan to spend most of their time outdoors and on the lake. Peace and quiet during the Fall and Spring is a fantastic time to visit and get away from the hustle and bustle! Take time to unwind! The cottage has a small but functional kitchen with stove, sink and refrigerator with a large round table that seats 8. Standard kitchen items included. Three bedrooms (2 with closet space) are charming with plenty of windows to let the breeze blow through. Two of the bedrooms offer lake views. Additional sleeping is available with a sofa sleeper bed. The single bathroom offers a remodeled feel with a shower only - no tub.
Spend your days on the lake: boating, swimming, and fishing then spend your evenings playing yard games in the adjacent shaded lot or relaxing with the sunset views from the deck. Plenty of private lakefront footage includes a seawall with sandy walk in access area. Water stays around knee high for 15 feet from seawall perfect for children and allows easy access for kayaks/canoe. Adjacent lot offers ample parking space as well as room to set up badminton, croquet, corn hole or toss a ball. In addition bring some firewood for the fire pit located on adjacent lots.
This excellent location on the lake is located within a 1/2 mile of a well maintained free conservation public boat access. In addition, the cottage is near Pokagon State Park, and Trine conservation area for hiking and biking, Tom's Donuts and several excellent local restaurants. If you prefer to fish, you can access through channels Big Otter Lake and Little Otter Lake which are non-ski lakes. Fishermen may find largemouth bass, brook trout, brown trout, bluegill, and flathead catfish as well as Northern Pike, Walleye, and Crappie throughout the chain of lakes.
Home Owners are sharing their 2 kayaks, canoe and rowboat. The cottage also comes with beach style chairs, lawn chairs and plenty of seating on the deck.
The cottage does have wifi. There is room on the pier so if guests choose, boats may be rented from The Corner Landing or guests may bring their own boat. Free lake boat access less than a mile away.

We visited northern Indiana to explore Pokagon State Park and ride down the toboggan sled and it was so much fun. We enjoyed staying at Kathy’s cottage. It was clean and cozy with a nice view of the lake. We loved playing games around the table ( especially the game pit) as we hadn’t played that game since we were youngsters. Our second night was movie night with popcorn. It was a great winter getaway.

What a relaxing and peaceful place to getaway. :) We loved being able to bring our boat and explore the beautiful lake. :) Loved that it was so close to Pokagan and the home was so welcoming with everything needed and more. :) Would love to stay again!

Was a nice place where we could doc the boat, have access to the lake, get right off the boat and be back at the cottage! The yard was bigger than expected and you can have a decent size fire! Back patio was nice to hang out on and play board games as well!

This home is very well kept, nicely decorated, and very cozy. It is smallish, with 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, but the open living room and kitchen did not feel crowded with our visiting family of up to 12 at times. The deck is great, and 2 kayaks, a row boat and canoe kept us active, as well as a very large area on the hill for croquet, corn hole, a nice fire area and extra parking. Would happily return!

Very clean. Little sandy beach area for kids. Good dock area. Everything you need in a kitchen. We had some bad weather, but we were able to use the open living room/dining/kitchen to spend time hanging out and playing games. Would definitely return to this property.

We had such an amazing time at the cottage! The house is equipped with absolutely anything and everything you need during your stay! We had plenty of room on the dock for our bass boat and pontoon! The beach area is perfect for the littles and something most properties don’t have! The lot in which you can park is plenty big enough to accommodate for vehicles and boat trailers! Kathy was the absolute best host! It doesn’t get any better than this! ❤️

Great house , lots of boat traffic, too close to neighbors on deck side . Feels like your in there space . Side lot on other side is great hung out there and down by the water. The place is really cute and has everything you would want !

My family and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at this adorable cottage. The treat bag was very welcoming and much appreciated! The waterfront view was beautiful, our three boys loved the big yard to play catch, and the fire pit was perfect for late night s’mores! The deck, beach area and boats would be awesome to have in the warmer weather. Thankfully, there were lots of games, coloring books/crayons and toys to keep the kids busy when we were hanging out inside. My kids also loved discovering all of the little knickknacks around the cottage. So fun! They absolutely loved being there! Kitchen and bath was stocked with plenty of necessities. It was a short drive away from plenty of restaurants, Pokagon, and Trine State Rec Area. This was a fantastic fall break getaway, and we hope to be back in the future!

We came with two families and this cottage had everything we needed. Location, function and nice owners. We enjoyed the stay and it allowed our family time to catch up and have a little fun. Beds were very comfortable! Movies, kayaks, canoes and more make it a great stay

Loved the quiet and the beautiful lake view. Stayed here for a relaxing weekend over New Years and it was lovely. Only downside was it's an electric fireplace inside, so not quite as cozy and fun as a real one. But a great place for a quiet getaway! I'm sure it's a lot of fun (and less quiet) in the summer when you can get out on the lake!

I rented the cottage for a sisters getaway. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of couches and chairs in living room. The large table was perfect for playing games on. We spent majority of our stay on the large deck with a fantastic view of the lake! We enjoyed a nice fire in the large fire pit. Kathy was extremely easy to communicate with and would definitely rent again!

Beautiful lake that connects tonthers and just keeps going! We were able to explore using the kayaks and even rented a boat for a day. The house is just perfect, nice large deck and our favorite part was the wood swing steps from the water. It is one if the clearest lakes..see right to the bottom! Kathy was an exceptional host with great communication!

My adult family stayed here to offer a break for our college aged boys. We had six total stay for two nights. We had a plan to go snow sledding in the area but just enjoyed the warm cabin with big lake views so much that we decided to stay in the comforts of this home to enjoy card playing instead. A warm relaxing weekend.
