This historic remodel is our favorite so far! This home looks and feels like an old home, but all modern needs have been met. Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds and wonderful showers. Great for 2 couples.
Short walk…plenty of parking for those of us who drove…great shops and food.
A visit to Beaufort, SC is a vacation well spent.
Alison was wonderful and so helpful!

This is our third stay in Beaufort and 722 Congress Street has been EXCEPTIONAL. The beautifully restored historic home, in the Historic District, is beyond charming. Just pack an overnight bag, nothing else is needed once you arrive. Everything you would need is here waiting for you. I caught myself saying "Let's go Home and sit on the front porch". Alison responded quickly and was warm and welcoming. We hope to return soon.

If you're looking to stay in the Beaufort area, look no further. This well appointed home is literally the PERFECT house--one of the best homes I've ever rented. The owners thought of every need--it is definitely a home away from home.
My husband & I traveled with our three teens (& our very well-behaved dog!) and couldn't have been happier with the dwelling. It's a beautiful old home, renovated perfectly--marrying its historic features with modern day amenities. We truly lacked for nothing--the kitchen was fully equipped for anything we wanted to prepare, the beds were super comfy, the showers a delight (shampoo provided!). We used the washer & dryer multiple times as well--essential when you're traveling with kids. And the central AC felt amazing after long walks in the sweltering southern heat!
The location is also perfect--within walking distance of the cute little downtown, as well as a few minute drive to the grocery store. We also took day trips to Savannah, Charleston & Tybee Island. This home served as the perfect home base.
Alison was a premier host--checking in when we arrived, but leaving us to our own devices so as not to smother (I've had a couple of hosts hang on the premises, which is always a bit awkward!).
Should we return to the area, we will rent this place again. Absolute perfection. Don't hesitate to rent this property--it's earned its 5 star reviews!

We loved our stay at this gorgeous home. The bed was super comfy and we had amazing sleep. The kitchen was well-stocked and beautiful. I wish we had an opportunity to cook more. We enjoyed riding the bikes into town to grab coffee in the morning and dinner at night. The cafe across the street was a lovely perk as well!!.

The cottage is lovely, comfy and welcoming. The location was perfect , very close to everything.
Magnolias cafe across the street is wonderful.
Neighborhood is very quiet and the people are very friendly. We walked to downtown (10 blocks) and through the beautiful neighborhood to see the big lovely homes.
Every morning sat on the front porch having coffee and watching the water and boats
It was a great vacation and we will be back next year.

Absolute beautiful property. Clean, full of amenities good location. Our hosts recently did a full remodel and did an excellent job of providing today's necessities while keeping the charm of old Beaufort. Would definitely use this house on a return visit.

Third time is a charm! We love the Cottage on Congress. Allison is wonderful, and the cottage has character, is clean, and in a great location!

Really tastefully decorated, clean and nicely equipped cottage. We had a great stay.
Just a suggestion, and not a complaint: other rentals in Beaufort normally have beach towels, many beach chairs, even a beach umbrella for some. With beaches in the area, it would enhance the experience to have similar equipment available, even a pass to Hunting Island.
Thanks!

Nothing conveys our love and appreciation for Allison's cottage in the Old Commons section of Beaufort more than the fact that we have already rented it for next year and can't wait to return!

This might be a life-changing VRBO stay. We have used VRBO and similar services a lot over the years and this is the single best rental we've ever encountered. A lovely restoration of a historic eccentric building -- it gave us ideas about things we might try with our own 1848 house. It is already roomy but it was amazing how the high ceilings make it feel airy. We spent time on the two porches and enjoyed the easy walk to the downtown area. We stayed with a pet and visited the nearly-adjacent waterfront park every day. Comfortable beds. We cooked in the large kitchen. We enjoyed the fun nautical-themed decorations. The hosts have added above-and-beyond touches that make a stay more special and memorable, like the rocking chairs or the photo book about the history of the property. We can't recommend it enough!

This was our second time staying here. We love the house because it feels so homey. Everything you need is provided, except the food, of course. The location is great and walkable to the shops and restaurants downtown. Also, there are so many places that you can drive to within an hour to explore! The owner is accessible and checks on you to make sure everything is alright. We hope to stay there again.

This little cottage was just perfect. It was very clean and beautiful decorated. We went for my son’s marine graduation and location of the cottage was just a 20 minute drive to Parris Island.

Loved the cottage as we all like restored historical homes. Close to Savannah 1 Hr drive and a must see restaurant Belford's for sea food. We also loved the USMC and Blue Angels air show. These Planes are going so fast they are hard to keep track of. Will go back there again.

We recently completed a four night stay at The Old Commons. The property is immaculate and very tastefully decorated and appointed. The owners have thoughtfully included many extras that make staying in a VRBO seamless. There were all the little oddities needed to make it seem like a home.
The living room / dining room and kitchen are all wonderfully decorated and flow nicely. Bedrooms are on either end of the property. The master has it's own bathroom, dressing room and a spacious bed room.
The property includes a nice front porch with ceiling fans and porch swings on each end of the porch. There is a small backyard and porch. We saw two nice bikes but just didn't find time to use them.
Overall our stay was fantastic and we'd definitely book again. Beaufort was a small town with many of the beautiful homes otherwise seen in Savannah or Charleston, so we may very well be back.

This was our third stay at The Old Commons. It is the best vrbo we have rented anywhere. We cannot think of a single negative. A warm and lovely house, a pleasant neighborhood, and cooperative and attentive owners. It does not get any better!

Great location, super clean, great amenities, free bike usage was perfect to explore the area, awesome communications with host. Awesome history on the house and neighbourhood. You could not ask for a better rental experience and we book many rentals yearly and this one is at the top of the list. Experiencing in hosting is evident and appreciated to allow you to relax and focus on your vacation.

This restored home is a gem! We wanted a location very close to town so we could walk to shops and visit friends in the area. We spent time riding bikes and entertained a few nights enjoying the beautiful dining area and wonderful kitchen provided more than expected. This house will not disappoint you and you will find the host has thought of every detail to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The fact that we could bring our small dog along was so helpful. Our sweet girl loves Beaufort and has a few four -legged friends there too!

We really enjoyed the cottage. Every time we stepped through the door we made comments on how lovely it was. Just beautiful, welcoming, and loaded with everything you require plus more. Alison was the perfect host. She answered all my questions and put up with my messages over the impending hurricane. We definitely recommend the cottage and hope to come back again. Going to be hard to beat this vrbo! We're forever spoiled.

Form the moment we walked in the door, we felt at home. The decor is cozy, clean, and inviting. The cottage is immaculate and we honestly just wanted to stay put. Had we not had a weekend filled with wedding festivities, we would have hunkered down and stayed home. I already can’t wait to go back. The owner is wonderful and you must book this cottage!!!

This property was gorgeous and no details left out in terms of little touches. We enjoyed the games, the coffee, special chocolates. We really enjoyed the scrapbook of the remodel and have so many ideas how we want to remodel our own home now after our stay! Allison was so easy to work with and even provided us with info for nearest grocery. The book with local places to eat and comments on their favorites were so helpful. Overall, best VRBO experience we have ever had.
