One of my (new) favorite inns in Nantucket! Have stayed at many over the years, but the hospitality and square footage of the rooms are unbeatable at anywhere near the price. Can’t recommend enough, my mom and I had a lovely time — also location is perfect!
Water cooler would be nice addition

Exceptional hospitality, great breakfast, and an en expected tidying of our room in-between.
The location is perfect. I cannot wait to go back.
I wish I could have stayed longer.

We chose this property for two reasons. First, it's conveniently located at the edge of downtown so everything is within walking distance. Second, we loved the pictures of the common space (library and parlor), thinking that if the weather was poor we'd have a nice place to relax inside. My only disappointment is that the weather was fine so we didn't have a chance to look at the big collection of stereograph slides. (I guess we'll have to go back.) Forrest, the owner, is wonderful: gracious, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable about Nantucket. He's lived there for a long time, and he knows the entire history of the island. Giuseppe, who assists Forrest, has spent many summers on the island and lives in Rome during the off season. He can also give recommendations and answer questions and is happy to do so. Breakfasts were fabulous! Every day we sat in the beautiful dining room, surrounded by china cabinets full of antiques, and were served a huge assortment of fresh fruits, yogurts, granola, nuts, wonderful coffee, and toast with jam and honey. Hardboiled eggs were also served, but it's not a typical breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns. In my opinion it was MUCH better. It is on a quiet street, which was nice, and just a few buildings down is the Hospital Thrift Shop, which is a great place to browse if you like that sort of thing. They have an especially good book selection!
Everything is expensive on the island including the restaurants. I was particularly disappointed in the places we ate dinner. The food was good but not great, and in one the service was poor. Perhaps we could have made better choices, but we went by reviews and ratings. For our last dinner we decided to get takeout lobster rolls and a bottle of wine and ate in our room.

Convenient walk to town, restaurants, off the busy streets. The house was
full of culture and amazing antiques. The room was meticulous and comfortable. The staff, Forest & Giuseppe were awesome hosts.... interesting to chat with & full of information! We will definitely return!
I cannot find one thing that I didn’t like!
