About this house rental
You will love this updated , pet friendly, Oceanfront 4 BR/2 BA half duplex home - perfect for your family get away or great place to "work from home" with the best view around! Enjoy the sounds of the ocean, just outside your door. This classic yet modern beach cottage with open dining/living spaces was fully remodeled (2017-2019) to include gorgeous white kitchen, granite counters, updated appliances, neutral decor, & LVP flooring throughout. Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. One large BR on first level and full bathroom, plus 3 more comfy BRs upstairs, including 2 that are ocean front with doors leading out to the upper level covered ocean front deck, plus one more full bathroom. Home has 2 levels of covered decks so you can fully enjoy the ocean view and breeze. Located in Shell Cove neighborhood, directly across the street from the NC Wildlife public boat ramp facility, it's convenient and quiet. Just a short bike ride on the Em Isle bike path take you into town for shopping, restaurants and amenities. Heaven!
A maximum of two well behaved dogs only are permitted. A pet fee of $150 for the first dog and $75 for the second dog will be added to your booking fee once you confirm the number of pets that will be staying. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the property, unless crated. Guests are expected to pick up up after their dog(s) and to ensure that they stay off the dunes. Dogs must be leashed at all times per local regulations.
We provide guests with a rental agreement outlining terms for each reservation. A link to the agreement will be provided after the initial booking for review and acceptance in order to receive access to the property.

Wow is all I can say! The property is perfect for 8 people. Plenty of room to sit for all. The view cannot be topped. We enjoyed our coffee every morning on the balcony seeing and listening to the ocean. The host was super responsive. If there is a negative it would be that the upstairs bedrooms ran a little warm. That did not take away from the property at all. You can't go wrong with this house. We plan on returning next year. Amazing!!!

This is an excellent property, well-equipped. Great location. Clean. The front door would not lock from the outside. There is an apparent leak under the kitchen sink. Would definitely stay again and would recommend this rental.

We spent our 2024 beach week here and the house was phenomenal in every way. Proximity to the beach, business of the beach, kitchen set up (supplies and organization), room set up, cleanliness! Also, this was our first time taking our dog to a rental b/c we didn't want to be somewhere that was unkempt and this was perfect. We usually crate our dog, so we took our crate, and he would hang there when we were sitting around as a family in the evenings. Our pup loved the beach too. The house and communication with the owners couldn't have been any better!!

Coffee & breakfast on the main deck each morning, wine and reading on the upper deck each evening. Truly an EI classic duplex, with all the amenities we needed. Loved the rocking chairs / oceanfront balconies on both levels and private beach access. Open family room/kitchen/dining area accommodated our group of seven (grandparents, parents and three kids) well. Unit was fabulously well stocked, And kitchen was a real working kitchen; we had every meal in the unit. We will be back!

We loved being at Wait-n-Sea. Such a wonderful home with comfy furniture and beds and it’s fully stocked with supplies. The covered decks might have been my favorite part of the home as we read, rocked and sipped. Hope to stay there again.

We wholeheartedly agree with all previous positive reviews! The owners thought of everything for their guests. There’s a guest supply cabinet full of items that might be needed before the grocery shopping trip. The gorgeous ocean view greeted us upon arrival just as shown in photos online. We loved the rockers on both porches! My ‘happy place’ is reading a book by the ocean. There’s easy and quick access to the beach as well. The house was absolutely perfect for our family in town for a wedding. Excellent floor plan with a downstairs bedroom for my mother who can't do a lot of steps. I loved the view and ability to walk right out to the beach. The house was well stocked and had a great open space for relaxing. The owners are nice and accommodating. We will be sure to return!!

Views views and a feeling you are on your own private beach rates a 100% happiness. The porches having shade and rockets are sn added bonus!
Some beautiful homes can disappoint that they look good but lack comfort. No worries everything was comfortable and the thoughtfulness to anything a renter could want had been covered too and at the ready. I brought things that were at the home had I needed it, I would have saved packing.
The welcome bottle of wine sets the tone of this home and it’s owners top notch do not hesitate coming here I travel often and I NEVER give 5 stars this is a first.

This was our favorite family vacation yet! The place is really beautiful. Everything was well thought out in this adorable duplex. The kitchen was equipped with every single item you'd need, to include a milk frother & meat thermometer, spices, very nice pots & pans. We weren't in need of anything at all. The view was spectacular, with a very easy walk right onto the beach, then a hose rinse off, or the outdoor shower. There were even beach toys & beach chairs. We did have to rent different chairs, as the ones there were a bit flimsy, but perfect for small children. Perfect rocking chairs on the deck to just sit & enjoy the view. I've already inquired about booking again next year. It was a much-needed, perfect getaway!

Great location with easy beach access and great views. The house was the best stocked place - in every category - that we've ever stayed. All the furniture was comfortable, and for a pet friendly place, it was surprisingly very clean. Communication with the owner was great, the welcome wine was a fun touch, and we could see ourselves renting again.

We have stayed at other VRBO's in Emerald Isle and while we enjoyed them they do not compare to Wait N Sea. These hosts provided a unit with everything one could possibly want in a beautiful setting. Just steps from the ocean with a convenient outdoor shower to rinse off the sand - other places may say they have an outdoor one but it typically is a spigot on the walkway and this is the real deal. All of the rooms were filled with comfortable furniture and there were many thoughtful touches - numerous hooks in the bathrooms and bedrooms, baskets in the closets for dirty clothes that were useful when using the laundry room. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the supply closet was so very helpful. The hosts recommended Gaffers Restaurant and we had two great meals there. We also ordered crabs from Captain Willis Seafood and highly recommend it for fresh seafood. If you are looking for a fabulous ocean front unit you could not do better then this one!

The property was newly remodeled and in great shape. It was also very well stocked from the kitchen to bathroom to toys for the beach. The owner was very reponsive. The location was great. It had a beautiful view and plenty of beach. A short walk to the sound side took you to a public boat ramp with a long walkway for watching sunsets.

I honestly don’t give many 5 star reviews because there’s usually something that could be better. This place was daggum near perfect though! I do think the location and decks facing the ocean made a big difference but the house itself is great too. My friend did all the cooking and was happy with the items in the kitchen. We had to bring a Keurig but there’s a coffee pot for your use. The only complaint we had was that the faucet on the deck out to the beach doesn’t work so we had to do our best to get the sand off our feet then wash them off in the tub. Kind of a hassle, but really a very minor inconvenience. We definitely talked about staying here again!!

The community and neighborhood are peaceful and friendly. Great aquarium for the kids and restaurants nearby too! Highly recommend this gem!

We loved this property for the ocean views and quiet location. From the large picture windows on the main floor, you can see and hear the waves breaking--no obstructed views from the dunes. We also loved the open concept living/dining/kitchen area as well as having a bedroom on the main floor. The only negative, if I had to give one, is that the laundry room is outside underneath the house--but it is a full size washer and dryer. Home included a well-stocked kitchen for preparing meals and the bed was very comfortable. We'd love to stay here again on our next trip to Emerald Isle.
