Beautiful, detached house in an elevated position on Ilfracombe harbour, facing out to sea, with the town beach and a large range of restaurants, pubs and activities all within a 2-5 minute walk. Uninterrupted views across the Bristol Channel towards Wales from most of the rooms, the terraced garden to the side of the property, and the all-weather Finnish BBQ hut. All bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom, and additionally there is a ground floor toilet and wetroom. The house was completely refurbished and modernised a few years ago, with modern living in mind, including the installation of a dual tank pressurised hot water system to ensure plentiful hot water and powerful showers throughout the house.
Ground Floor: Large KITCHEN / DINER on the ground floor with harbour and sea views from the dining table and bay window bench. Kitchen area with granite worksurfaces, american style fridge freezer, large dual fuel range oven (gas hob, electric ovens), dishwasher, washer / dryer, microwave, extensive worksurfaces and central preparation island. Dining area with woodburning stove, wall mounted Samsung smart TV, and extendable dining table with 12 chairs and fantastic harbour and sea views. Ground floor LOUNGE with wall mounted Samsung smart TV, harbour and sea views, foosball table, double patio doors out to the garden terraces, and door to ground floor toilet and WETROOM (perfect for a rinse off when coming in from the beach or sea).
First Floor: MASTER BEDROOM with full length mirrored wardrobes to one wall (great coastal views when lying in bed), seating bench in bay window and kingsize bed. Large ensuite bathroom to master with walk in shower, twin sinks, feestanding oval bath, toilet, radiator and heated towel rail. TWIN BEDROOM with wardrobe and chest of drawers, two full size single beds, views to rear garden, freeview TV with integrated DVD player, ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and sink. Large FIRST FLOOR LOUNGE with spectacular harbour and sea views, woodburning stove, Samsung smart TV, seating for 10 (3 sofas and window bench), harwood floor, radiators, door to small balcony with seating for 2 persons.
Second Floor: DOUBLE BEDROOM with kingsize bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Large panaromic window with views across the harbour and out to sea, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower, toilet, sink and corner bath. DOUBLE BEDROOM with kingsize bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Window with views over the garden terraces and up the coast, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower, sink and toilet. TWIN BEDROOM with wardrobe and chest of drawers, two full size single beds, views to rear garden, freeview TV with integrated DVD player, ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and sink.
Outside: there are three seafront terraced patios. The TOP-TERRACE in the garden comprises 'THE LOOKOUT' a Finnish BBQ hut for grilling, wining and dining with spectacular views across the sea and harbour in all weathers (charcoal provided). Whether you fire up the grill to cook mackeral from your afternoon fishing trip, or just to keep you warm as a drink a sundowner and watch the boats come in from the Bristol Channel, you can enjoy the spectacular views whatever the weather. On the MID-TERRACE there is a large table seating 10 that makes a wonderful place for al fresco dining at lunchtime or as the sun sets over the harbour. Additionally there is a new decking area with sun loungers, perfect for soaking up some rays or enjoying the spectacular views. On the GROUND FLOOR TERRACE there is a charcoal BBQ if you prefer to grill outside while enjoying those beautiful views and watching the boats coming and going below. To the FRONT of the property there is a rocking bench and garden bench ideal for a relaxed morning cuppa or coffee as the harbour day gets going.
Directly in front of the property, the town’s harbour with beach is a pretty working fishing harbour where visitors can watch the local fishermen come and go with the day’s catch, and relax or play on the sandy beach. Further beaches are within 10 minutes walk including the town’s unique Tunnels Beach, which is exactly what the name suggests: a collection of sandy and shingle cliff-backed beaches, accessed via a network of Victorian tunnels, offering a cafe-bar, picnic area, wetsuit area, and a tidal pool. The town has a number of well-regarded eateries, and a range of interesting shops, aquarium, mini-golf, as well as choice of fun day trips by boat, including to Lundy Island. Also visit Combe Martin, Mortehoe, and Woolacombe for blue flag beaches, Watermouth Castle theme park (good for younger children), wildlife parks, museums and other attractions.
The house is a short walk up the harbourside path from the end of Quayfield Road, and then accessed via steps to the front door (not easily accessible for mobility impaired visitors and not suitable for wheelchair access). The Look-Out and mid garden terrace, are also accessed by steps which are steep in places. Free parking is available on Quayfield Road (first come first served). Paid parking is available directly below the house on the harbourside in either Cove or Marine Drive (long stay) car parks. Further parking details supplied with booking information.

We were 10 ladies on our first swimming trip away from our local haunts in Hampshire. The property provided us a home away from home within walking distance of our planned boat trip to Lundy Island (with Sea Safari - we swam with seals and saw dolphins - fabulous), we also swam in Rapparee Cove, enjoyed marvellous cocktails at the Quay Cafe and Wine Bar, had a bit of retail therapy, walked and laughed a lot. Not sure we will be able to beat this next year so may have to return. Thank you

We had a lovely time. There are views from all of the common areas and the terraces and the house was a great place to relax. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of dining space inside and outside. Lots of charcoal helped with a few barbecues.

Everything about the property was fantastic! From communication ahead of our stay, the house itself, the views, the people watching, the decking, the grill....everything!
Ten of us visited, 5 couples, to belatedly celebrate 7 of our 50th Birthdays, which we'd had to postpone from April 2020.
We had a fabulous 3 night long weekend stay. All ten walked to Lee on Saturday, spent a few hours in the pub there, 3 walked back and 7 got a taxi which worked really well. On Sunday we walked to Hele, again rewarded with a few drinks in the pub, then walked back.
We used the decking, the grill, cooked in and ate out. We spent time watching the boats and fishermen coming and going as well as the RNLI.
The house was perfect for 5 couples to all be together but equally each have our own space and bathroom.
We all totally recommend the house for your stay and the communication with Cassandra was very quick and helpful. A huge THANK YOU from us all!

We wanted to get away for a week near Christmas with our family group consisting of two teenagers and their 2 friends and both of our Mums.
We choose Quayfield as it had 5 bedrooms with en-suites, so everyone had their own space, the views outside were spectacular in the pictures & pleased to say were the same in real life and the house had everything we would need for the December weather - ie TV's, games, reliable wi-fi and the outside hut with firepit.
We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The house overlooks the harbour which is lovely. The teenagers explored Ilfracombe and went to the old style cinema, went to Woolacombe for arcades and beaches and even though the weather was not the best it had no real effect on anyones stay at all.
Ilfracombe was quiet, quite a few things were shut but we expected that. I imagine its very different in the Summer months, It had everything you need locally (supermarkets etc) and was a great base to explore the surrounding area from.
Even in the quieter months we didn't get parked outside, but we had bought the recommended pass beforehand and it is pretty cheap for a weeks parking. Though don't park under the trees unless you want to be cleaning your car everyday (seagulls).
We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again for sure, maybe in the warmer months just to see the difference. But we got exactly what we wanted, a beautifully appointed house in a great location and great times had by all.

We had a great time staying on this property. The location was amazing with incredible views of the Harbour. The house was clean and spacious. We went here with our grown up children and there was enough space for all of us. We were very comfortable in the house and it was lovely to come back to after a wet walk! We loved the local pub and went there every day and we also loved the local burger bar. The kitchen was well equipped and the log burners very useful at this time of year. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Had a very nice and relaxed stay. Ilfracombe was obviously quiet this time of year but there were still pubs and shops open. The locals are very friendly. The view is amazing from the house and even better on the deck, which I imagine would be wonderful in the summer. The house itself is beautiful too and had everything we could need. Thank you for providing a pre-lit Christmas tree too! It was a welcome surprise!

Just looking out the windows entertained 5 children aged 3-9 - fishing boats, life boat, yachts, rowing boats, fireworks all viewable from several windows. The BBQ house provided two memorable, cosy evenings, eating in the dark and toasting marshmallows while totally weather proofed. The house is within short walk of many simple activities and a short drive from many more. We were lucky with the weather but I think there would have been enough to do even if it had rained

We returned for another year at the wonderful Quayside House - and every year it is just as magical as the first time we went.
A wonderful house, with all the home comforts you could ask for. The new decking area is the perfect look out to the harbour and cliffs, with any passers by telling us they had 'deck envy' of where we were sat! We already cannot wait to return.

The views from the front rooms of this stunning house have to be seen to be believed. The house itself is very well furnished, and particularly impressive are the kitchen facilities - plenty of everything you need. It is a great house in a great location, and ideal as a base to explore not only Ilfracombe, but the surrounding area.

Excellent location, close to the beach and town centre. The children loved playing on the beach and paddling in the sea. We watched the Lifeboat launch on Thursday at 6pm and return to be hauled onto the quay and turned round to back in to the station. Recommend purchasing the 7 day parking permit.

We loved our stay, the decking view was fabulous, just a shame the weather meant we didn't spend enough time there. Our only issue was the parking, we had 3 cars & the road was always full, so we ended up getting a weekly pass for each car which was quite expensive... All the family were happy. Would definitely recommend tbis house

It’s often the little things that make a place a great stay - a well equipped kitchen, a full-sized fridge with ice maker, big fluffy towels, hotel quality pillows, modern bathrooms all en-suite, etc. Quayfield House has all this, but it also has the big things - an incredible view and a wonderful location. This house must have the best views in town, and many locations to view it from, including a great deck and enclosed Finnish BBQ and multiple window seats. The tide change is greater than any place in the world except the Bay of Fundy and is absolutely mesmerizing. And we loved being able to walk right into town for shopping, restaurants and pubs. Be prepared for a bit of a haul getting the bags up the hill into the house, but once you are there it is a little bit of heaven.

The views from the property of the harbour, beach and hills were amazing - so beautiful. What a fantastic location! The house was smart, well decorated and well equipped. Bedrooms - all en-suite and 3 doubles and 2 twins - were perfect for our 3 generation family group. We had a wonderful holiday!

A lovely house with amazing views over the harbour, but no parking. However, we were pleased to find electric chargers in the local car park.

This was our second trip back to this property and it did not disappoint. It is a “home away from home”, fully equipped with everything you need. It’s incredibly comfortable with really high quality bedding.
And the views over the harbour are just stunning- we will never tire of that view.
We love walking, exploring new coves and cafes to stop at in the surrounding area.
Couldn’t recommend this property enough !

We were so happy to be staying at Quayfield House. We went with our two daughters, son in laws and 4 children. The house was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for us all. There were lots of games for rainy days (luckily we didn't need them) The terrace was wonderful for alfresco meals and the house was well equipped with lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses . The beds were so comfortable and even had a choice of pillows. The location was probably the best in Ilfracombe, overlooking the harbour with plenty to see and do. Thursday night is a highlight when the lifeboat crew launch the lifeboat for their training session. Lots of steps so wouldn't suit anybody with mobility problems but this was made clear in the description.

Great home and location with views over the sea and Harbour. Everything we needed was provided.

We would not stay anywhere else if we were to stay in Ilfracombe with our family and friends again. This property is very comfortable, modern, with the very best of views on three different levels of balcony. The harbour is especially beautiful at night, looking across at the oldest working lighthouse in the country, the imposing Hilsborough Hill to the east, and the new looking lifeboat in its sparkly station to the west, and the vibrant town beyond. It is perfectly located for coastal walks, water sports, super fresh seafood cafe, and other tasty places to eat. There's lots of local history and interesting geology, something for everybody including interesting local shops.
We stayed here in August, our children, the teenager and friend and our older children and their friends all would have stayed longer if possible as their is lots to do and see.

A beautiful property in a beautiful location. The house was exceptionally clean and had everything we could have needed.
The grillkota was amazing and to have views of the quay and beach from every room was incredible. Our 2 children were ecstatic to see draws full of board games which was a nice touch. Highly recommend.

Quayfield House - what a find!
We've just had a fantastic weekend in Ilfracombe. Quayfield House met all our expectations and more. It is spacious, very clean, very well equipped and the location is amazing. The view of the harbour and coast from all the rooms in the front of the building can only be described as stunning.
We have already decided this is the only property we truly want to return to and as such would highly recommend.

Amazing 60th birthday celebration
Everything was smooth from start to finish, from searching for the property to communication with owner and enjoying a beautiful home from home with stunning views from just about every window. Perfect location for walks and sightseeing. If we have friends or family visiting from abroad for a celebration we would not hesitate to book it there again.

Wow! What a view!
We have just returned from a long weekend and can highly recommend this property. The photos don’t do the views justice. The house was well equipped and even nice fluffy towels! It was warm and cosy while allowing space to not be on top of one another. Local pubs are welcoming and friendly, open mike night at the George and Dragon was an unexpected bonus.
The only thing that could have made this better would have been for the check out time to be more around 11, it was a bit of a rush to leave by 9 but understand that cleaning is a priority at the moment
Thank you

Beautiful home in gorgeous setting
A really lovely home - best equipped I have ever experienced. With 8 adults and 3 small children/babies having our own bathrooms was a huge plus. The terraces and BBQ Gazebo are an added bonus and have wonderful views across the Harbour and out to sea. The owner could not have been more helpful and responded quickly to emails. HIghly recommend!

Fantastic property with incredible views
We have just got back from a wonderful long weekend at Quayfield House. The property lived up to the expectations set by the photos - the view from every front facing window stops you in your tracks every time.
The property was really well equipped, and comfortable beds, sofas, towels etc.
We are hoping to rebook for next year!

Stunning location
Quayfield House is a stunning location for a holiday in Ilfracombe! We enjoyed all the facilities the house offered, which provided in our needs. The best of the holiday is the location though because we were entertained by the constant change of the tides, fishing vessels leaving and coming in with their amazing fresh fish and shellfish. We were lucky to buy fresh crayfish which we then cooked on the BBQ. Can highly recommend this holiday. Just book restaurant dinners well in advance- because we struggled to get in , resulting in me cooking more than I planned for on this holiday.
