Loved alot about this pub/B&B.
The staff were super friendly, food was out of this world, location was great! very dog friendly, even had a bed for our dog. Sunday lunch was the best we have ever had, and we do love a roast! lovely dog walks at the door and river for those swimmer dogs!
I have given this place 10/10 purely due to the amazing staff and delicious food but was a little disappointed with the bedding, was quite scratchy and bobbly, didn't make the bed the most comfortable and the quilt didn't fit the cover. picky I know but I like nice bedding. But the other bits outweighed this!

One of the comfiest beds I have slept in. Arrived late the host was so gracious and accomodating. wished I had been able to have dinner and breakfast but it was a flying visit. Will book again!

Excellent food both in quality and quantity terms. Very pretty pub in an equally pretty location, just slightly off the beaten track, but in fact less than 10 minutes drive from a main town.
Very friendly and helpful staff, a good selection of beers to choose from, and friendly chats with the locals who also eat and drink there (always a good sign of a nice place).
Very accommodating of dogs which would encourage me to come back with mine, especially considering the walking opportunities direct from the pub.
Some of the single beds were a little hard/uncomfortable for my liking, but only slightly so.

Amazing food, great location. Wonderful staff
All good.

Breakfast as good and the location is the Dove Valley. Who does not love the Dove Valley. Staff were the best. Very friendly and easy going.

Love the peace and quiet of the area and have stayed in cottages and the pub on many occasions over the years.
The oakover is good as the staff are lovely and friendly. The room was lovely big and clean and the breakfast was good.
The set up for doggies is great with treats all over the place, doggie bar with plenty of bowls and a hosepipe on tap to clean those boots and paws off after a long walk.
Our room was a family room so was in fact 2 rooms 1 with a kingsize, drinks making facilities and a TV and a 2nd room down a few steps with 2 single beds and a TV which would have been great for kids. The bathroom is off the 2nd room though so night time tinkelers need to watch the steps. So clean though and very very comfortable.
Sadly for me the menu at the pub is no longer a pub menu.. I have a sever allergy to curry and coriander leaf so the menu is limited to approx 3 dishes for me due to the Asian fusion twist to almost every dish. I do miss the standard pub classics both in the evening and at lunch time the ploughman's was legendary. I had fish and chips along with 85% of the other customers and sadly the peas had no taste and the fish batter was very soggy and there was very little fish meat, the chips were good though. We shared a desert due to the prices being so high £7-£8 for a tiny price of cake and a blob of ice-cream is a little excessive.
The breakfast included was good with your choice of anything off the menu although the coffee was a little weak for our taste and the main coffee machine wasn't switched on in the bar so we had to have a cafetiere of ground coffee which wasn't strong enough.
Our bathroom was big and sadly freezing as it houses the old very ill fitting fire exit door you can see the outside down the side of the frame so it was very chilly in there.

The breakfast menu was unusually imaginative and interesting ranging from the conventional to excellent vegan options. Items not on the menu such as granola were available with a straightforward request. The family room worked well for our two generational adult family.
We were very happy with everything.

Staff were fantastic, especially after initial complications with booking. So helpful and friendly and it was great chatting with them.
Excellent location.
Breakfast was PHENOMENAL, the poached eggs changed my life!
The bathroom wasn't quite complete in terms of renovation, and the TV didn't work fully (no channels, just YouTube) but neither of these was an issue for our stay.

Lovely location and staff were very helpful and friendly
There wasn’t anywhere to hang our clothes, we managed out of our case which was okay as it was just a one night stay but it would have been a problem if we were staying longer

Lovely small country estate village location, car park allows campervans,. Excellent, interesting Asian twist (as well as more tradition fare) to pub food and breakfast, and very reasonable room rates. Family run, and it shows. Staff great.
V slightly tired bathroom, but perfectly acceptable, especially considering the price

Excellent value for money and comfortable clean rooms.Good hearty breakfasts and pleasant and helpful staff.
Shower enclosure could have done with a steam clean as there was mould and soap scum on the grouting and Shower door.Next door bathroom had been refurbished so maybe this is next.

Friendly staff and lovely hotel
4.3
Amazing food and great service from the lovely staff. Everything was well organised. The room was perfect for us with two young children having a separated room for them and there was a little play area at the rear of the pub. Very comfy beds, peaceful night thanks to the quiet location. Food was amazing, best breakfast ever! Kids well catered for and staff couldn't do enough for us.
Guests probably need to be aware there is no phone signal but these days it doesn't matter with WiFi phone calls etc. It didn't affect us. Some minor issues with the age of the pub, we had no hot water one evening but it was quickly rectified and didn't cause any problems.
