I do a lot of business travel. Probably the best country pub of the year I've used this year. Everything is excellent.

This Inn is in a great location near to Alton Towers and right on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park. Breakfast buffet was included which was very good. For a little extra charge (£8) one can upgrade to a full English breakfast which is perfectly cooked to order. We tried this on one morning and found this to be very nice. Cars can be parked right next to the rooms which is great for unloading/loading luggage.
Nothing in particular.

Good location, very near Dovedale. Good breakfast. Very attentive staff. Parking right next to all rooms (except one.) The suites would be efficient accommodation for families with younger children. Fabulous Chocolate Bread and Butter pudding !
Very tired rooms. We moved room due to a leak in the roof above our bed.

The complementary cold breakfast is diverse (mince pies).
We thought we were booking a suite and felt we had paid for one. Instead we had two rooms with a shared private bathroom along the corridor.
You have to pay for the cooked breakfast.

The playground, kept kids busy and enjoyed looking at the real peacocks everyday 🦚
Old towels with edges torn.

The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The breakfast is amazing
The rooms are getting a little tired, and the WiFi is inconsistent. Their information does warn you about the WiFi.

Continental breakfast was a good mixture but definitely wasn't fresh the days we stayed there especially the fruits

Our room was warm and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless and everything worked well. It was handy to have parking right next to our room, and because we had a dog, nice not to be too close to other residents.
The waiting staff were super friendly and welcoming. They really made my kids feel at home and it is completely because of how lovely they were, that the visit was so nice.
It was, considering the price of the room, a little disappointing to visit the Peaks, and have a room with a view of a gas tank.
On booking.com, the room was advertised as £175ish. It also said this "included breakfast". The initial confirmation email stated "Breakfast is included in the final price." However, this was only continental breakfast. I queried this and was pointed to the blurb in Booking.com, which does mention that a Full English breakfast is an 'upgrade'. My fault for not noticing this before but I do think it could be a little clearer. As the upgrade added £24 to the price, we paid almost £200 for one night in a basic room facing a gas tank. As the staff were so nice, its sort of okay, but I wouldn't have booked it at that price.

Friendly staff and good location. The room was comfortable and clean. An issue with the hot water was dealt with quickly and with no fuss.
The food was pretty average (being generous) and was expensive for what it was.

We arrived late due to getting lost, yet they still accommodated us for dinner even though we arrived too late for the kitchen. We felt this was particularly kind of them. The food was lovely and the service was exceptional. All of the staff were brilliant. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms exceptionally clean. Our stay included breakfast and we were impressed at both the quality and variety of food available. Our stay was so that we could go to Alton Towers and this location is only 15 mins away from the park. Would highly recommend, we would definitely like to stay again, we loved it here.

Do not be deterred by the sight of a complex of white cabins when you arrive at the Dog and Partridge - the holiday camp appearance is deceptive. Once in your allocated cabin the room is spacious, warm and comfortable. Both bedroom and bathroom were clean, well furnished and very comfortable. You are also able to park adjacent to your allocated room cabin. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and although we were the only guests in the Inn, they still had a full and extensive menu, providing a delicious and fair priced evening meal. Continental breakfast also provided an extensive choice. We were a party of 4 with a dog and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

After a small bath there was no hot water left so had to have Luke warm shower .
Good choice of food for breakfast just didn’t seem very fresh just like it had been out for few days .

Nice rooms in the Chatsworth suite, warm and comfortable.
In the dark you need to look for the turning to the pub, some new lighting may help to remedy this but easy to locate in day light.

Some of the staff a little less friendly and unhelpful
Water not very hot and ran out quickly
