The staff were all very kindhearted and helpful. A special gracias to José who works the overnight shift. They make a good, substantial breakfast, served poolside.
The pool is small, but very cool and refreshing. My goal was to visit the ruins at Cobá, and then just relax and read. I was able to achieve both quite comfortably and at a good price.
My room was spotlessly clean. Make sure you ask for daily cleaning or they leave you alone.

Super cosy small hotel with nice pool! The breakfast worth it!
That is a village, so you ‚ll hear some roosters.

Walking distance to Coba and means you avoid the parking fee. The rooms were nice and breakfast was amazing - lovely fruit and a variety of types of main dishes to choose from on a menu.
The pool never seemed very clean so we didn't go in it.

A really nice place, right by the lake. Quiet town which we really liked and there are quite a few restaurants near by. The room was very nice and comfortable, smelled so nice! Also, staf was really friendly. Breakfast was very tasty.

The location is great, right off the lagoon and main road. Very close walk to the archaeological zone and delicious restaurants. The room and bathroom were well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The staff were attentive and cared about my comfort, and were helpful when I needed a taxi. Breakfast was excellent and varied - way better than I had expected. The pool and hammock area is a nice touch.
I did not like the scented toilet paper. Dogs and birds in the neighborhood could be noisy at times, but that is obviously not something the hotel can control!

I stayed at Hotel Itza Cobá for a week, and enjoyed slow exploration of the ruins and leisurely strolls around Laguna Cobá for birdwatching. Many other travelers raved about the staff and I totally second that. They brought me a pillow seeing me lying in the pool-side hammock and got me a brand new electric kettle for daily tea making.
The location and amenities are great for the price. The a-la-carte breakfast was delicious and super convenient. Often I would get the meal after my early morning excursions and the staff were very accommodating. The room and bathroom are spacious compared to what I had elsewhere in Mexico. The minibar and AC both worked really well.
About the solar shower: it worked well most of the time; I only had problem once after it got dark.

Breakfast was great. Late arriving was acceptable. Staff at reception was very helpful.
If you want to stay like in a tent but pay for a full service room during your trip in Mexico you are welcome to Hotel Itza Coba. Room was without glass windows, just mosquito nets. We did not sleep well because of exterior noise and we were cold in the morning without blankets in the room. Only cold water in the bathroom. Water was heating by solar heater (see photos) witch did not work during our stay. There was a sign in the shower: ``Wait 5 minutes, open only left...`` , We waited 20 minutes without any success. So we did not have shower and used wet napkins instead.

A clean and tiny modern hotel with about ten rooms. Excellent staff, pet-friendly, and great breakfast. An excellent place all around, BUT…
This has nothing to do with the hotel, but the stray dogs barking & fighting in the night was HORRIBLE. At 1:30am our family of 3 nearly decided to leave. It felt easier to risk corrupt traffic cops, late night semi truck collisions and cartel activity than to endure another hour at the hotel. And I’ve never wanted to depart a hotel early in my life. During checkout the girl working says it’s like that EVERY NIGHT. Had I known, I would have stayed elsewhere. We were so tired, we decided to skip Coba ruins and head back to Playa Del Carmen for some much needed sleep. You’ve been warned.

This is the absolute best place to stay in Cobá. The staff is what makes it awesome, but the facilities are also unique and beautiful.

Guys, if you want to see the culture of Mexico, go to Coba, a litlle village near the piramids, very calm, very friendly, from sure you will feel the culture of Mexico. Itza Coba Hotel, is in very good location, very close to the lagoon, to the piramids and to the station bus. Near the hotel you can walk on the streets in the village, very nice experience, the staff of the hotel are very nice and very friendly!!! Recomand this hotel!!!

Good location, very close to the archeological site.
It was extremely noisy, roosters and dogs were screaming all night long. As far as the windows didn’t close well it felt as though there were screaming at our room.
Low quality pillows.
French style bed is too small for a couple.

Very clean room, friendly and helpful receptionists, delicious breakfast (especially the one that was served to us today). Amazing location, just about 5mins from the ruins. Nice restaurants around.
It's not that I didn't like but I guess it might be an useful detail for the others - you can hear the noises coming from the streets and animals, so if you have not really deep sleep, make sure to bring the ear pads. :)

This was the best hotel I stayed in in Mexico while traveling throughout the peninsula for two months. I stayed for 10 days, and everything was 100% perfect the entire time. That's not easy to do! The staff and owner are super kind, the architecture and design of the building are unique and beautiful, the food at breakfast is delicious and made to order, the rooms are very comfortable, and it is spotlessly clean. In this hotel you are surrounded by nature and yet only steps from the ruins and several excellent restaurants -- all easily walkable. In addition, the wifi and cable were great, and the water was excellent!!! Best water pressure I've experienced in Mexico. Finally, the people in the village of Cobá are so warm and friendly that you will definitely want to spend time here. You can view the gorgeous sunsets over the lagoon and see the top of one of the buildings in the archeological zone, all from the front steps of the hotel. Perfect place, excellent people.
There was not one tiny think that I did not like.

This place has the best staff in whole Mexico! My partner and I traveled through many cities of southern Mexico for three weeks, and no place has been as welcoming as this one!
They made us a huge breakfast and treated us like family. We were so amazed by the service!!! Would only go to this hotel if we come back again, if we go back to Cobá again.
I loved everything!
