It was an awesome house

Dealing with Vacasa was a nightmare. I spent at least an hour trying to get a response every single day of my vacation. No one there followed through with anything and no return calls. House was dirty, dead bugs, including cockroaches, and found one climbing up the kitchen walls. Toilets clogged. Just awful. Would only recommend to run the other way when you see Vacasa!

Hits: This home is very comfortable for a large group and we really had a great time here. It's kitchen is well equipped with lots of good quality cookware, etc. Family room is well furnished. Beds are comfortable. Lots of TVs and decent Internet. Pool although small was clean and maintained as was the hot tub. Nice large deck also. Misses: Outside needs cleaned up. It appeared junky with a broken deck chair and other items just laying all over. The small gas grill is chained to a post. The lagoon beside and behind the house was dirtied with an assortment of litter which greatly hurts it's beauty. We felt sorry for the resident turtles. Sorry for the lengthy review. We really wanted to love this place....

It was a good house to stay in. Close enough to the beach to drive and visit everyday but pushed back on the sound to have some nice privacy. The whole place is surrounded with beautiful wild life. The elevator was a great plus: we had two elderly and a 6 month pregnant woman who were forever grateful for it even though it was slow. Pool looked a lot larger in pictures but still was a lot of fun for the children. We had 14 people and there was plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing.

Elevator was not working. Had to lift my disabled uncle in his wheelchair up and down 8 flights of stairs all weekend.
Pool heater was broken. Was not able to use the pool during our stay even though heated pool was advertised
Was not allowed to lower the cooling system below 74 degrees. Sighns on each floor said dropping temperature to lower than 74 would break the AC. That is extremely warm.
Dryer did not dry towels. After 3 full runs dryer still did not have. Towels dry.

Nice House, Needs Updating
The house is in a great neighborhood and located just down from a shopping plaza with a grocery store, Duck Donuts, Dirty Dick's Crab Shack and some other stores, which was nice. There's also a little elevated path across the street that leads to a small private beach which was cool. Lots of space for all of us to relax and loved that the bedrooms were almost all king beds, and really comfy ones at that - we all had a great night's sleep every night we stayed! The furnishings are super outdated though and really unappealing (e.g., coral walls, red couch) and not enough comfy seating in the TV room for more than 5/6 people unfortunately. A giant sectional would be a welcome upgrade, same with ottomans instead of clunky (and dangerous) glass coffee table/side tables. The "grill" was a hot mess, which we spent a solid 30 mins scrubbing down - it looks like one of those cheap camping grills you'd see at a rest stop. Investing in a real, proper gas grill would be a welcome upgrade too. The pool and hot tub were great, although the pool is quite small. We were shocked at the charge to heat it and disappointed the 'max temp' was only 80 degrees (for context, we have a 20x40 large inground pool at our house, and the actual cost to heat it to 90 degrees, which is what we keep it at, is less than 10% of what we were charged for Coral Castle... and we live in the next state so I can't believe it's NC power rates that make up that 90% upcharge). The elevator also malfunctioned while we were there and when we reported it, we got a message saying "sorry, we'll let the local management team know" but it was never fixed. Luckily we were all able-bodied but that could have been a huge issue had we had a handicapped person in our party. We were also surprised at the lack of outdoor furniture (again for context, we have multiple cushioned loungers and outdoor sofas at our house) but suppose that may be on account of the insane winds that apparently impact the outer banks every day. Overall I give Coral Castle 4 stars - it definitely has the potential to be 5, but needs updated furnishings, a better grill, and more reasonable pool heating charges.

I would like to start by saying the exterior is a bit ruff around the edges . Once inside the house to the eye is beautiful.
However they could use a bit of maintenance up due for sure . When we arrived there were broken pool chairs witch one our friend fell off on .
A gentlemen came to replace them the night before we were leaving so we really didn’t have chairs to sit by the bar area outside all week .
There was a broken toilet paper holder in the master bathroom and broken screen laying on the second floor patio.
Besides these broken items the house held our 14 person party very well.
We loved the location , 5 mins from the beach access which was wonderful .
We all had trucks which was nice bc you are able to buy passes to take the trucks onto the beach .
The house is equipped with lots of pots and pans and many utensils.
That was a super plus .
The balcony’s were amazing for the sunrises and sunsets.
I will say having the house on the canal was one of our downfalls as the bugs were terrible.
Our girls gotten eaten alive outside at night time .
Over all it was a great experience. We would definitely rent the house again with hopes general maintenance was taken care of .

Vacation 2021
The house had some issues issues such as during during rain the doors leaked and the water came underneath the doors In the movie theater room showers had some black mold. The bottom oven did not work. The shower on one of the 3rd floor bedrooms you couldn't get hot water because the handle did not turn the whole way. The Soccer table was very dangerous and ready to collapse Great location Needs a lot of love and care

Pool heater
Everything about renting this property was great. My only complaint if any was that the details about the pool heater weren’t clearly written on the listing. I was unaware that the pool heater was an extra charge. I inquired about turning in the heater and was informed that it was an extra charge. I would have paid the charge had I known, but this info was not clear on the post. It was disappointing to have a nice pool in the back yard and not being able to use it during the entire trip due to the cold temperature.

Family vacation
Nice location, well suited for party of 12. Some updating is needed and internet went out. Service is difficult to get quickly. Management company does not call back or answer phone. It could use a gas grill as well.
