The overall home was a joy and perfect for our family of 16. Upon arriving at the home it was not clean. One shower the door was broken and the shower was muddy maintenance did come and replaced the shower doors. The one tubs jets do not work they sent someone out but it was not fixed and also missing the plug to the tub. The wifi does not work and the tvs will not connect to them. There is water damage in the kitchen with paint chipping off. The AC does not work in the one master bedroom on the floor below the kitchen. The elevator did not work but maintenance did come and fix it. The house could use more silverware.

What a great home! Things have been improved well in this seasoned home. The home was laid out well and accommodated our multi family group with everyone having their own spaces. Wonderful size pool and hot tub, new appliances, air conditioning worked well and everything well labeled. We have been coming down to Avon for 20 years and this was one of our favorites! Would book it again!

The home was sandy and dirty when we got there before we had even brought our stuff in. There was stains on a lot of the bedding and the quilts on the beds smelled and had clearly not been washed. There was sand all over the floors when we initially entered several of the rooms. The jets in the bathroom tub did not work. We notified staff that the hot tub was leaking and got no real response or resolution. The pool was full of sand the first night we used it. The ovens in the kitchen barely ever got to temperature.
The house was overall nice with plenty of space for everyone and great views of the bay but it was not clean and we got little to no response when we reached out to staff.

Gorgeous home and views.

The home is stunning, but lots of issues. Missing or broken lightbulbs, mold, fans not working, hot tub didn't work most our stay, when the elevator broke, it took Vacasa 2 days to get in touch with Hatteras Realty for repair then to top it off, the fridge went out our final night and none of us knew till morning, successfully losing an entire fridge/freezer of food we were going to take back home. Oh, and French doors don't just close, they're a little different, make sure to ask how to use them so you're not left overnight with open doors.

In all honesty, I must say Island Paradise is a lovely 5-story home (including the carport area). The views of the home were breathtaking, although it was not beachfront. The views traveling to the home were even extraordinary. The house was huge and spacious. It had plenty of beds for everyone in my party. Those in my party mostly loved that each bedroom had a full bathroom. TBH, If I had the opportunity to book this home again, I probably would, pending some issues with it and the host's service being corrected. The issues encountered for me were not too major, but I would consider a problem for the price and for this home to be mistreated and neglected in such a way. I will begin with the day of arrival. When we arrived, the trash cans out front were filled with trash and smelled, like all 5 of them. This was very disappointing to find because we checked in on Saturday, trash pickups are Friday and Tuesday, and there was no reason for the trash cans to be full. I texted this information to Vacasa customer service and received care and concern but no action. Ok, moving along, we entered the home and at first, glance was very pleased with what we found until taking our time and getting acquainted. We noticed quite a bit of cleanliness issues in the home. There were spills, trash, dust balls, and hair (you get the pic) behind chairs and between corners of the dressers, chests, and nightstands throughout the home. The vents appeared to not have been dusted in a while, carpets could use a shampoo, and the shower heads in the bathrooms have calcium buildup along with soap scum, dirt, grime, and possible mold built up in the shower grout/caulk. The refrigerator located in the game room smelled a little fishy but that is to be expected since this area is big on fishing. There were spider webs noticed outside and throughout certain areas of the home, but no insects were noted inside. The dishes in the cabinets were very nasty with caked-on food which most likely came from the dishwasher and due to people being too lazy to hand wash dishes these days. I've learned dishwashers do not always remove food from dishes, therefore they do need to be double-checked before placing them into cabinets. I prefer handwashing my dishes so that I am sure they are cleaned. The windows and sliding glass doors could use a cleaning. They were quite dirty and it was difficult to enjoy the views unless one was directly on the balcony. Also, I would like to note for this is a non-smoking property, there were cigarette butts found on the balcony near the jacuzzi and upstairs in the screened-in porch area. Last, on cleanliness, trash was in the trash can located in the kitchen. It was obvious that it was not emptied before our arrival. Now onto the home and amenities. There was quite a bit of disappointment in Vacasa as a managing company. My advice to them is to please do better. Some in my party had to endure lumpy and uncomfortable beds in some rooms, no trash bags/trash cans in the bathrooms, and insufficient paper products, or starter kits in some bathrooms. Most bathrooms received 1 very small bar of soap and a small tube of shampoo and that was it. Of course, we came prepared from knowing what to expect. Therefore that was not a problem for us. So this is a heads up to anyone looking to rent this home through Vacasa or any home for a prolonged period. Some maintenance items that need attention, starting with the 1st floor of the game room, the television in the bedroom on this floor would never turn on, the ceiling fan in that room did not work, and the handicapped shower that is designed for that room only allowed water to pour out into the floor that had to be wiped up every time the shower was used. There was no mop so towels had to be used. I later purchased a cheap mop from Dollar Tree and left it in the home. The hose outside on the patio near the pool and hot tub kept dripping. It will not shut off. I am sure the water bill is not pretty. Two ...

We were very disappointed with this home and the service. We were not provided with enough towels and bed sheets. The kitchen stove in the home did not work. After contacting the reality office several times, I had to actually go to the office in person. And still our entire stay was without a stove! 3 of the tvs did not work. The ice maker did not work. We have been vacationing on the island for over 20 years. By far this was the worst experience.

We had trouble getting our tv's to work and CJ came out on Monday, he was great!! The next day ICE came out. Ice was excellent. Both guys went out of there way to get us working. I appreciate them both!!

Lovely home bur needs some improvements
The home is spacious with plenty of room to spread out. The views are gorgeous from every deck. The horrible aspect is roaches were in the kitchen and the lower level.

The house itself needs a major cleaning. We experienced bugs (cockroaches) and the overall cleanliness from the carpet to the floors was dirty and in need of repair.
The bedspreads do not fit the sized beds. They are old and in need of a major cleaning!!
The basement, outdoor windows were dirty. Many of the screens were torn or missing. The floors were sticky.
Bedrooms, again the floors under the beds were not vacuumed. The side tables were dirty and the bathrooms need mold and mildew treatments.
The closets were musty and could use damp rid throughout. The curtains in the rooms need to be cleaned or febreezed. It’s a very musty-smelling house.
The bathroom in Serenity has a leak and must be repaired as it’s leaking into the safari bathroom.
An overall outdoor power wash is needed and removal of stuck bugs and frog carcasses.

House is fine end was clean. But the elevator lights were out and not available for entry on ground floor. Took 2 days and multiple calls to fix it. Rebooking for 2022 costs are rediculous.
