Laura is a wonderful host and I really felt like home at her house. She's always there, downstairs, if you need help with anything. It was very interesting to talk to her and learn about life in Costa Rica as these were my first nights after arriving. I was impressed with how well she decorated the house all with her own hands!
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and always very fresh - Laura makes that a priority, so you have to tell her when you'll want to have your breakfast and she'll prepare it at the right time just for you. I didn't have any specific plans for the day so she was flexible and agreed to cook it whenever I woke up, I just had to ask 20 minutes in advance. Instead of pre-cooking the breakfast she still made a point of always cooking fresh, which I think is great hospitality.
There's not too much to do in Alajuela, but I enjoyed just walking around, the people are very friendly and it's not touristy at all. I really liked the central park and the cathedral in front. There's a bus that goes to San Jose every 15 or 30 minutes (I don't remember, but Laura can always help you with that) where you can visit some nice museums, but I would never choose to stay in San Jose instead of Alajuela. San Jose is one big tourist trap, Alajuela is closer to the airport and a much more authentic place to stay.
There was some noise from the street at night and you couldn't close the window (actually it's more of a ventilation hole). But that's just how most houses are built in Costa Rica.
Speaking of windows, the one in my room was made of glass tiles so I couldn't see anything through it. But I'm not sure if it would help if it was a normal window - Alajuela is built up quite densely and you would be staring at a wall on the other side of a narrow street.

Had a great stay for 1 night before heading to the airport. It's a convenient location because I was able to walk to many places in Alajuela. The host made delicious breakfast. She was kind and warm and we had a great conversation in the morning.
The traffic noise was loud though most of the accommodations in Alajuela are next to the street so it was unavoidable.

Rien !

I spent two very comfortable nights here. Everything about the place was great, including the homemade breakfast! In addition, the host was very helpful in arranging for me a taxi back to the airport and answering my questions about the surrounding area. I felt well taken care of.

L’accueil, la gentillesse de la propriétaire, nos jasettes, le généreux déjeuner, le calme, le comfort du lit, la grandeur de la chambre, la propreté. Pas de négatif à nommer. Très satisfaite de mes 3 nuits chez Laura!

Laura was a wonderfully friendly and welcoming host. We arrived late and she made sure to get us settled. The room was clean & comfortable, bathrooms were also clean. Location was close to the airport. Best of all the included breakfast was a large delicious portion! Highly recommend.
Nothing. It was great! You can hear a few planes overhead at night but that comes with staying anywhere near the airport.

We stayed in Lajuela BnB for our first night in Costa Rica. Our room and the bathroom were clean. The bed was very comfy, we had a really good sleep. Laura is such a great host, the communication was clear and she let us check-in after hours as requested. The home-made breakfast was delicious. Excellent value for the money!

The bnb is very conveniently situated: very near the airport with a bus stop only a street away that goes to Juan Santamaría international airport. They are loads of restaurants nearby for dinner and the street is quiet and calm at night. The host is very friendly nice and welcoming and the breakfast is included! If you are transiting from and to the airport this is the place to stay!

Everything — it feels super cozy and Laura’s cooking is Michelin-star worthy. The wifi is great and hostel is quiet so it’s a good place to get some proper rest.

Very nice host, clean room, good matress and pillows. Quiet in the night, very central to everything though. The best was the lovely breakfast Laura is making for you fresh :)
There could have been soap in the bathroom and better space to put your things. But this is a minor complaint, everything was nice.

Amazing host - so helpful - and perfect central location for walking everywhere; Laura is a very good cook, too! Just 5 mins from the airport. Hot water on demand in showers (my husband and son figured it out …. ask if you can’t!).
Classic Costa Rican extra extra firm mattresses (every home seems to have them; hotels we stayed at catered more to soft northern bodies). Otherwise perfect!

The perfect place to stay in Alajuela ! This was the best hostel I made during my trip. The host is super nice and welcoming, she cooks delicious homemade breakfast, everything is super clean and confortable, and this place is in the centre of the city and 10 min away from the airport with a taxi ! I recommend this hostel to start or finish your trip in the most perfect conditions :)

Laura is perfect. Helped me with everything i needed for my trip even with the taxi problem. The breakfast was perfect. Laura does the best Croissant i've ever seen.

The host speaks perfect english and helped me with my transportation. The Breakfast is plenty and made with love and I got a vegetarian milk free version.
For the price the overall standard could be higher.
