Head to the southern portion of the island and you will find a local Nordland general store to stock up on needs, a trail to the beach to spend warm afternoons on, and even a local vineyard to indulge in wine tasting. There is also a boat launch and kayaks for rent on the island if you are feeling adventurous. Fine dining and charm are only 19 miles away in historical Port Townsend. Great view and comfortable home. Lots of games to play. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Make sure to stop at the Nordland General Store too!

Awesome house, great view, plenty of space to relax. Easy access to a small portion of the beach. Wildlife such as deer and birds visit in the morning. Fully stocked kitchen. Driveway is accessible but very steep.

We loved going back in time.. yet with modern amenities. The gardens and willow tree and the white frame Farmhouse brought us so much Peace. Even tho you are on a busy road when the ferry docks it is very quiet inside the house. We had an amazing outside dinner just a sort drive down the road at the Hardware Store Restaurant. Gorgeous wood features. Lovely deck. Great staff. Then we stocked up at the local grocery store which is the best store we have ever shopped in!! Easy to go back to the farmhouse with lots of breakfast goodies! Hard to leave!!

Really nice place. Very clean and very comfortable. Cooked several meals and the kitchen was well stocked. King bed was comfortable. Would have been nice to have a foldable suitcase stand in the bedroom. I will definitely recommend it to friends.

Nice quaint area…the house was neat and clean and had most of the things we needed. Wish they allowed pets.

The location and home was great. Saw deer and herons on the property. No mosquitoey was fantastic. Only thing that was a concern was some of the carpets were stained or dirty. I took pictures in case I was going to be charged but not too concerned. If you have a chance it is a nice be place to stay. Thank you

Accommodations were perfect. Location was great, quiet, beautiful surroundings yet within minutes of activities and restaurants.

The property inside was clean and beautifully furnished. The sunset views were amazing! The couches were so comfortable and large enough to nap on, which I did.
The huge problem is the mosquitoes. There appears to be a large amount of standing water in the backyard with algae growing on top and mosquitoes everywhere. They greeted us as soon as we arrived onto the property flying around our vehicle. I appreciate the 3 different bug sprays. I did use them when I walked to the beach, but it was a pretty unpleasant walk swatting mosquitoes left and right. We did not attempt to sit outside on the deck--although it was so inviting.
But bug sprays are not enough, the standing water should be drained in the backyard to really tackle this issue. If that is not possible, mosquito dunks should be placed in the standing water on a regular basis to kill the larvae. And adding bat boxes to eat the rest. We did see a bat flying around but much more are needed to eradicate the problem.
This is the reason for the 3-star overall rating.

Clean and well kept, we enjoyed the stay. Spent a lot of our time on the deck enjoying the fine view. The mosquitoes were rough but we figured that out. A couple minor critiques would be that the towels could be a bit nicer and pillows could use replacing.

We were looking for a place to relax and unwind for a few days and found this place. Quiet and serene. We loved watching all the birds on the water and had a special surprise with deer one evening. We will keep this place as a favorite.

Being near the water, fantastic. Deep in the trees of the NW. Stellar. This experience all around was wonderful. Peaceful and well equipped. Definitely would stay again and recommend it for future guests.

The house is cute and was great for us. It is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The location is very quiet and peaceful. We were able to enjoy several sunsets on the deck looking out over the water. Coming from Oregon, we were surprised to learn that the beaches are private, so we were not able to walk the shoreline. We were out and about most days anyway, so it wasn’t a deal breaker. The driveway is well-marked with Vacasa signs. It would have been nice to have a picture in the arrival instructions as Google Maps tried to take us into the neighbor’s driveway.

The house was perfect! Arrival with the key code made entry and exit very easy. The deck overlooking the water was great for morning coffee and sunrises as well as drinks with the sunset. We had two adult couples staying here and the upstairs/downstairs bedrooms with their own bathrooms and showers were very convenient. The separate air conditioning units in major areas of the house allowed everyone to sleep comfortably. The fireplace in the living room created a nice calming ambiance which was very relaxing. Marrowstone island was a very small town and groceries and restaurants were only 15-20 minutes away.

The "beach" is pretty much unusable. The housekeeper left her little letter probably expecting a tip but we had to clean a lot of yucky stuff. There was nastiness behind the microwave, brownish-red thick liquid. The house smelled of old cigarettes. There was cereal in the crevices around the blocked-off fireplace. There is what appears to be nicotine running down the skylight in the main bathroom. there was literally an inch of dust under the bed in the first-floor bedroom and an old pill bottle covered in dust as well. You are charged a cleaning fee, told to clean before you leave and you are left cleaning stuff that was there a LONG time before you ever got there. I have photos of all of this if anyone is interested in seeing them.

The tree-lined forest driveway leading to the house is amazing. The views from the house are fantastic. The house is comfortable. While the house wasn’t dirty, it wasn’t super clean either. There were three lightbulbs burnt out that we replaced to have light. The walk to the beach is a little sketch as you have to walk through a neighbors yard, but it was never a problem for us. The kitchen was small but worked pretty well. BBQ was nice too. Overall it was a good place.

Property is accurately accommodating and as described online. We had a tad bit of trouble with keyless entry as batteries may be dying. Agency was quick to reply to text about back up keys. We selected this location for beachcombing at Glass Beach in Port Townsend and at Fort Flagler. Found our largest pieces of glass right out on beach by cabin! Downstairs shower is perfect!

Location and house layout terrific. We needed to dust floors and shelves and put a lot of dishes in dishwasher and clean pans right away. Some light fixtures didn’t work.

Loveddddd the location. Quiet with views of ocean surrounded by trees. Deer grazing outside. Amenities were great too.

Extraordinary view from the back deck. Lovely home. Drawback was the extra Vacasa charges, which escalated the price a great deal.

We were in the area for a family emergency and wanted a specific kind of accommodation. Luckily this home was available for just the right amount of time.
What’s important to me is cleanliness, ease of living, comfortable beds and furniture, well equipped. This doesn’t always meet expectations in person from the pictures. I would say, this home met our needs perfectly. I was especially happy with the comfortable furniture. This is usually a problem for me.
My wish is there were other options for TV ie Firestick) than basic free.
The front part of lot to waters edge was obviously in need of some work. High tide or some event created the space unusable. Ok for us because it wasn’t the purpose of our stay. Grass and woods surrounded the other three sides. Lots of light and windows with lovely views and great sunsets. Kitchen, grill, mechanics worked well and decks everywhere. Very easy drive into Port Townsend where we needed to be often during our stay. Overall all a perfect fit.

Cozy and clean property. Nicely stocked kitchen with all the small appliances you could need (toaster, microwave, mixer). Only thing missing is an iron and ironing board, which is a small fix. Plenty of towels and linens. Only complaint is that the path to the beach is not a path. Trudged through knee high grass to get to wooden boardwalk, and when the boardwalk ended, path was unclear and treacherous. Stepped on a log, which collapsed and I almost broke an ankle. Had to turn around and never actually was able to make it to the beach, which was one of the reasons for renting the house. Path needs to be maintained and definitely built out after where the current boardwalk ends.

Property was great. Almost was unable to check in because I didn't realize that I had to go through a separate process with Vacasa.

Beautifully remote, peaceful time in Nature!
The home was very comfortable with wonderful views! The beds and bedding were 5-star hotel style! Provided a fabulous space for our time together!

Peaceful stay
The beach house was comfortable and relaxing. Beach itself was minimal due to property boundaries on either side. State Park nearby was great for walking and cycling.

It was…fine
The location great and views were spectacular. The house was not entirely clean, dirty dishes and mystery stick under the kitchen table. The worse part was the smell. The couch was obviously a smokers couch at some point and had been covered up with fabric odor remover. The sink too had the smell of a neglected good trap. The house was obviously intended to be a vacation house and is cared for as such. We decided we would have stayed here over a hotel, but have stayed in better vacation rentals. Destination, views, and peaceful getaway made up for most of the downside.

Comfortable.
Even the kitchen chairs had cushions.
Another reviewer said that there was a red couch that was bad. It showed a red couch in the pictures. The pictures need to be updated. All couches are blue now. VERY comfortable! They look bran new.
Beds were comfortable as well.

Return to Marrowstone Island
This property is such a magical spot. We were fortunate enough to visit in May and couldn't wait to return so we planned an October visit. I'm sure over the summer this home was rented non-stop, but you'd never know it by evidence of wear and tear. . . everything in the house was just as nice in October as it was this past May! I'm impressed with how clean and tidy the house was, perfectly ready for our stay. During our October visit, the weather was stormy and this property is wonderful for snuggling in and relaxing with a nice fire in the stove and a good book. There are plenty of blankets and throws to provide all the comforts you need for world class napping. And that ever-changing view out the front windows! In the evenings we loved watching the lights of Port Townsend, across the Sound and during the day it's a non-stop parade of all manner of birds, a few boats and, our favorite, otters! The deer came by several mornings and we could watch them feeding under the trees outside the kitchen window. We love this cabin, for several reasons. The location can't be beat and we really appreciate it's remote feel while being so easily accessible. The upstairs bedroom is small, but maybe it only feels that way because of the wonderful king-sized bed, that's dressed completely for luxurious comfort. Because it's just the two of us, we haven't used the downstairs bedroom, so I can't personally testify to the comfort of that bed, but if the one upstairs is any indication, it's probably wonderful as well. The kitchen is well appointed, with plenty of pots and pans and baking dishes to accommodate any meal you'd want to prepare, and the appliances all work great. If we're lucky, we'll get to return to Marrowstone Island and stay again in this wonderful cabin.

Disappointed
From the time we walked into this house and got clobbered by the very musty odor, to the time you leave, you keep discovering the fact that this place has not been thoroughly cleaned for a very long time. Heavy layers of dust in too many places. The worst moment was when we lifted a cushion of the living room sofa. We couldn't believe how much food was under it!! It apparently had been accumulating for a long time. Combined with 2 ancient toilets that struggled to flush, and you have a rental property we won't be seeking to returnn to.

Loved the view from the deck and the open floor plan.

The best vacation.. EVER.
Booked this adorable place for a weeks' stay to attend a USCG retirement party for some friends. Enjoyed EVERY moment. The house was adorable with gorgeous views of the water and mountains, perfectly clean, and had everything we needed (except for laundry- was dismayed to find I had overlooked that was missing!) Close to nature, walks on the private beach and sand dollars were found everywhere. Wildlife was plentiful and loaded blackberry bushes lined every road I traveled. It was a PacNW paradise, you MUST book this house!

Exploring Marrowstone
A comfortable house that was very nice for two couples. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with ample towels, etc. (this house does not have washer or dryer) and well stocked kitchen utensils, etc. Could use a bit of cleaning around the edges as several dead flies in the window sills and corners and could use some sweeping around the decks/stairs. Windows on the view side of the property appear fairly new, but they could use a good washing to really enjoy the view/sunsets. Even with nice summer weather, cooler nights being near Juan de Fuca Strait so an extra blanket would be nice. House could use an extra blanket or two. Decent access to beach but signs posted on beach limit one to just stay within property limits all the way to low tide line. A bit restrictive that way. Fort Flagler State Park nearby is a nice amenity which gives one much more beach to roam. Having Port Townsend near is also a nice amenity. NOTE TO OWNER: On the second day of our seven-day stay we discovered the back door could not be secured. Bolt and face plate in the door jamb not lined up properly. The whole door and jamb looked warped or something. We immediately notified Vacasa of the issue. Said they would send someone out the next day (Wednesday). Two days after not hearing from Vacasa I sent a second inquiry. Finally talked with a person that said someone would call me when on the way. That was a Friday. We left three days later on Monday and never heard from Vacasa nor saw a repair person. We rented a Vacasa-managed property last month (June). Reported a safety-related issue with the house. Same result. Vacasa never sent anyone to the property to remedy the issue during our 7-day stay. Unfortunately, the Vacasa experience tainted our stay and over-all rating.

House is in a very cool location! New driveway, plenty of parking, rope swing, nice big deck with beautiful views and a TON of seating. Beach access was nice and the appliances were relatively new and clean... clearly someone has put a lot of work into the building
