About this house rental
Our secluded family home sits on a hill at the end of a dead end road above the small downtown of Frankfort, Michigan. The house is surrounded by trees which provide a feeling of privacy and yet is only a 15 minute walk to downtown and Lake Michigan. It’s a great central location for accessing activities in the area and also a wonderful place to sit back and relax on the deck with friends and family. Frankfort, Benzie County and Northwest Michigan offer a variety of activities- hiking, biking, golf, fishing, kayaking, surfing, farmers' markets, wine tours, restaurants, music, art, film, festivals, shopping, water/snow skiing, M22 scenic drives and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
The main floor has two bedrooms (1 master bedroom ensuite with king bed and 1 bedroom with a set of bunk beds and a queen bed), 1 full bath, an open kitchen/dining area, and an open living room with a wood burning stove. Large windows provide a lot of natural light. There is also a spacious deck with bench seating, a large table and chairs, hot tub, and a gas grill. The finished basement has 1 bedroom ensuite (1 queen bed), open rec/tv area with a fold-out couch and laundry area. The basement opens up to a lower brick patio area and has access to the garage. The driveway provides plenty of parking for cars/boats.

We booked this home for our parents and it was beyond expectations. From the size of the home, the ameneties, the well stocked kitchen and views, you could not go wrong. One great surprise were the deer wandering around with two fawns. Cate and Joe are highly responsive and a joy to rent from. 5 stars all the way

This was a beautiful getaway. So close to downtown Frankfort. We took some day trips to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Crystal Mountain, and Platte River. The house was exactly as advertised. It was clean, well kept, plenty of clean towels--even towels for the hot tub. The fire pit was great for our group.
The homeowners were easy to reach for any questions we had. They were quick to respond and super helpful!
Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home!

So many good things to say about this house. It is in a secluded setting yet close to town and other activities. The layout accommodated our group of six and one infant comfortably. The house was very clean, furniture in good shape, beds were comfortable, linens and towels fresh. Good selection of pots, pans, dishes with available pantry space for our items. Plenty of room for multiple cooks in the kitchen. Soaps, paper products and basic spices are thoughtfully provided. We enjoyed the spacious deck all day long and the lower-level patio was a bonus. The hot tub and fire pit were enjoyable on cool nights. Cate and Joe were very responsive to questions and requests. We felt very comfortable and welcome. So happy to find a property that checks so many boxes - looking forward to a return visit next year!

Beautiful, spacious family home. The deck was lovely and perfect for eating meals and playing games. Hot tub was a great perk. Kitchen has everything you need and bedrooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Overall, this was perfect for our family vacation. Very quick drive to the Main Street and the beach too.

A Perfect Getaway!!
I can’t say enough good things about this house - the house was spotless, the layout was great for entertaining, the hot tub was relaxing, the oversized deck was perfect for socializing in the evening and the house is in a totally private location, but so close to downtown and the beach. Loved this house and I would rent again!

Frankfort stay
House is spacious, clean, well appointed and accommodating for families. It is stocked with games, books, towels, etc and In fact has the feel of a primary residence as opposed to a rental. The location provides a secluded feel as it’s surrounded by a wooded area with no direct neighbors. The house is located at the top of a steep incline, however. So while the distance to downtown and the beach is well within walking or biking distance on paper, the driveway did make it prohibitive for children to walk or bike up.
Check in was at 6 pm as opposed to 4 pm listed on Vrbo. The owner did text it was available at 5 pm though and met us at the house to provide Information and instructions. Owner also stopped in periodically to check on the hot tub.

Perfect getaway
The house is perfectly located in a secluded lot yet close to town for quick trips there. Also great location for fun outings to swim, kayak, hike and visit fun places like the Dunes. We will come back for sure.

Peaceful and Convenient
We enjoyed the house. The yard was spacious and sunny and the house seemed isolated although it was just minutes from downtown Frankfort. The house was spotless, well-designed, and well-equipped. Communication was excellent and overall we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this house. One bedroom and TV room were in the basement and those stairs are a bit steep. They are well-constructed and perfectly fine for adults, but the elderly and small children might have some difficulties. Frankfort is a cute little town with a surprising numberr of takeout options (due to COVID-19 we don't eat in restaurants). There are several nice golf courses nearby and lovely beaches.

Beautiful house at end of road
This was a great house rental for me and my young family. The place was cleaned and all set up. The house is well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. The outdoor porch was great for dining during this wonderful weather. They had a bunch of books for all ages and even some toys for the little ones. Love the privacy and the wooded atmosphere. Great location to access a lot of destinations around the area. Highly recommend!

Great Week
The exceptional landscaping of this house led to our enjoyment of it. The kitchen is well equipped, linens and towels ample as well. Delighted to find beach towels. The back deck is wonderful -- that in addition to the spacious dining room table allowed us to entertain some of our family for pizza one night. Not fond of driving to the lake but parking was not a problem. Would like another TV downstairs, but we didn't do much watching anyway.

Frankfort Mich. Day Ave.
We had a great stay at the Day Ave. home. Owners and VRBO agent were very accommodating and helpful and the home was as listed in all respects. Location was close to all of the areas we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay there again.

A Great Family Get-away
What a wonderful home! This home was the perfect place for a family getaway. The house has many great amenities, which made our stay both comfortable and relaxing. There were only 4 of us, but the house can accommodate more. The owners have made many upgrades. When we walked in, the house felt like home. You can tell the owners have travelled the world and it was fun, and informative looking at all the beautiful mementos. The house is close to all the beautiful beaches and parks along Lake Michigan, especially Sleeping Bear Dunes. There are also many towns to explore along the Lake. We loved sitting on the deck at sunrise sipping early morning coffee and at sunset sitting around the fire pit after a long day of exploring. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental to others. Thank you, Richard Lutz for promptly answering all our questions and making this a great getaway for our family!

Secluded and comfortable accommodations
We stayed in early June and especially enjoyed the dining deck off the kitchen area. The house was also well stocked, clean and comfortable. It was nice that there were many indoor and outdoor toys for our daughter to use and interesting books for the adults to read. We had a great time and would stay again!

Comfortable home in beautiful setting.
My sister, her four grandsons, ages 10-17, my husband and I spent a wonderful week in this roomy and comfortable home. We've rented several places in northern Michigan and this one is tops. It is lovingly furnished and has plenty of space for reading, playing games, doing puzzles, using the Internet, etc. The kitchen is very well appointed and has multiple workstations. Plus, there is an entire pantry available for storing guests' food. The large deck overlooks lovely gardens, and the glider is a relaxing spot for adults and kids alike. Soaps, paper products and basic spices are thoughtfully provided. The managers are easy to work with and were responsive to our inquiries and questions.
