Our family enjoyed our stay in July 2024 very much. The house was clean and comfortable, with almost everything we needed. Rooms were a tad smaller than pictures seemed to show. Backyard was incredible - we really enjoyed the screened in gazebo and the bird feeders. Overall, excellent!

Great time. Wonderful place so private and so many beautiful birds. It was peaceful and relaxing. Everything was perfect. Would definitely stay again

Nice property close to Downtown Douglas and Saugatuck. Enjoyed the wooded setting and amenities such as the covered gazebo and firepit. The cottage was clean and well appointed, nice accommodations. Host had good communication and pictures of the property were accurate. Overall nice stay!

We enjoyed being in a rural type setting while being a mile away from town. The only thing that would have made it more peaceful is if it was not so close to the highway. The highway noise carried even though it seemed all trees would have blocked it. We are glad it didn't rain because we might have had to enter the house through a waterfall since the gutters looked overloaded with pine needles. There was a cat hanging around the property that we wanted to bring home and take care of because it looked scared and sad but stayed away from us from fear. Please re-home that cat if you can. It looks emaciated and may have mange due to severe looking hair loss.

Nice clean home, well equiped and close by to Douglas/Saugatuck area. Enjoyed firepit and backyard.

Conveniently located close to downtown. Beautiful backyard.
House itself needs a deep clean. Dust in every room, window on first floor bedroom had plastic wrap completely covering it with no explanation from property manager. Dishwasher did not work and was filthy. Property manager was super attentive with communication. Was unable to get it repaired but brought paper products for us to use during the stay, so we were not stuck washing dishes our entire vacation.
Our last day there was a mouse in the kitchen. We subsequently realized it ate through some boxed food that was on the counter.
House has potential just needs alot of TLC. Property manager was great to work with!

We loved the location and backyard with deck, patio and fire pit. So nice to have coffee on the deck in the morning. Surrounded by beautiful tall trees, it projects peace and quiet.
The inside of this home was nicely decorated with period furniture. However, a strong musty odor hits as soon as you open the door. The ‘cleaning’ staff should be retrained. The bedspread in the king room smelled. The sheets on that bed were old and pilled and barely fit the bed. They did promptly replace when we complained. Used a frying pan that had to be rewashed as there was a liquid in the bottom. It is an older home that may benefit from a dust filter. There was a lot of dust. A dehumidifier in the basement may help with the smell. Overall, our stay would have been much more enjoyable if the house had been cleaned as it should.
Guests are not allowed to use the fireplace. If that is the case, then why put it in the online pictures?

We enjoyed five nights staying in this cabin, which is actually closer to Douglas than Fennville. Worked perfectly for my older teens to stay upstairs and share that bath, and my husband and I to be on the main floor. We had a few maintenance issues on the first day, but they management company quickly responded and took care of our concerns. The one thing that wasn't resolved was we couldn't get the dishwasher to work.

We really loved our stay at Woodlands. The scenery was beautiful, easy to maneuver around the several local towns. Loved the backyard and dining room with all the windows.

Lovely and relaxed little getaway for 4 friends for almost 40 years. House suited our needs for space. Kitchen was great and well equipped. Best feature was the darling gazebo, perfect for happy hour even when it rained. Loved the charm- just need to make it easier to lock the door when leaving.

It was close to Saugatuck, 10 minutes away, and easy to find. It was perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed the enclosed backyard gazebo. If you want peace and quiet, this is your place. The listing said the home was air conditioned, which it was. However, the air barely reached the two upstairs bedrooms. After a call to the realty company, our problem was quickly solved with an upstairs window air conditioner. I would definitely list with Jacqua Realty Co. again! Thank you!

Great yard, comfy beds, awesome location and very peaceful while still being close to everything the area has to offer!

Beautiful property, house is well equipped, exceptionally clean. Wifi password did not work and management responded immediately. Main bathroom door handle kept falling off and repair man was supposed to come during the week but did not to our knowledge. Second floor is hot, use fans provided and open the windows at night. Very comfortable beds. Very well equipped kitchen. Awesome backyard. Highly recommend!

Great spot for families with kids
We stayed here for a week with another couple, plus our kid and their kid, ages 8 and 6. The house was the perfect size for the six of us and the two kids enjoyed sharing a room. Stairs are very steep which could be tough for older folks or younger kids (but there is a baby gate at top of stairs). We spent lots of time in backyard patio and had a fire in fire pit every night. Kitchen and rest of house are well equipped and we had no problems with well water that other reviews mention.

I was initially disappointed that we could not find a cottage on the water but this cottage was quaint and we had a wonderful time. Very short drive to the beach or to town.

We stayed at the Woodlands for 2 weeks. It is a very clean house with some nice amenities: a bright dining room, a deck with a table, a gazebo and a fire pit. The house is nicely furnished and the kitchen has plenty of glasses and plates. The management company was incredibly responsive and sent a handyman immediately to turn on the power to the gazebo, and delivered a new microwave when we informed them that the existing one wasn’t working. It was a good place for enjoying the quiet and spending time cooking and reading.
We agree with the previous reviewer who mentioned that it would be good to know in advance that the house uses well water. We discovered that upon arrival when we saw the sign (in the basement !) that said washing whites and light colored clothes was not a good idea because of the well water. Prior to our visit, we inquired about the existence of laundry. That would have been a good opportunity to tell us about the well water so that we could have packed appropriately. In addition, had we been aware of the water situation, we would have brought bottled water with us.
People should also know that the house is on a main road. While it is generally quiet, and convenient driving distance to Douglas and Saugatuck, there are no sidewalks or dedicated bike lanes in this wooded area.

We stayed at Woodlawn for four weeks and enjoyed our stay there. It is a nice house. We loved the dining area and the deck both looking out over the backyard. All of the beds are very comfortable and the kitchen has almost everything the average cook would need. It is a 5-minute drive to downtown Douglas and a 15-minute drive to downtown Saugatuck.
There are a few things we think it might be helpful for other renters to know. The air conditioning works very well on the first floor where the main bedroom is, but it barely cools the second floor where the other two bedrooms are. (It was quite warm and humid a good part of our stay.) Also, the house has well water, so it was recommended to us that we buy bottled water for drinking due to the taste of the water and that we go to the laundromat to wash our white/light colored clothes due to rust in the water. (FYI - Lake Vista SuperValu in Douglas is a great place to buy bottled water and you can bring the bottles back and refill them and the laundromat in Douglas was very nice.)
The team at Jaqua Realtors, who are the managing agents, were very responsive. Anytime we had a question or an issue they were right on it and tried their best to resolve it.
We also have one suggestion for the owner - the upstairs bedrooms could use better bedside lighting. Wall lamps in the twin room and a full-size lamp in the queen room would be a great addition.

We had a great weekend. The house was perfect for us and we loved the screened in gazebo. It was, however, difficult to get a hold of the property manager because of it being a weekend. Just had an office number for contact.

We had a really great time at the house, it was so close to town (not walkable) but far enough away that it was really quiet. The yard was just perfect. We had a campfire each night.

Four acres, nice outdoor living space. Keyless entry. We were able to get away without any human interaction. Grilled in the yard each night. Ate in the gazebo. It was a nice change of space.

My friends and I loved the outdoor space at this property! We ate breakfast on the porch each morning and watched many birds visit the birdfeeder. A short ride from downtown Saugatuck. We loved Mitten Brewery and the Southerner. We drove to both Oval Beach and South Haven's North Beach. A highlight was the Star of Saugatuck sunset ferry ride. The property had several amenities and was comfortable for 4 singles. The checkin process was easy and staff at Shoreline were helpful with any questions we had.
