About this house rental
Luxuriate and relax in this elegant, well-appointed, view-rich home. A jacuzzi and sauna sit on the deck, with views of the beach and whitewater, Tomales Point, Tomales Bay, and the Pacific beyond.
Two of our three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. You’ll find the things you need and want: Sonos throughout the house, Nespresso in the kitchen, Ghilchrist and Soames soaps and shampoos in every bathroom. Four hangout areas - there's a living room upstairs, a lounge downstairs, the deck out back, AND a 590-square-foot teenzone/movie area with Peloton, foosball, ping-pong, full-body Dreamwave massage chair, PlayStation 5, vintage ‘80s video game console, and giant, memory-foam LoveSac “beanbag.” (Imagine if NASA made a beanbag...)
And when you arrive, you'll find chilled sparkling wine and Pellegrino in the fridge, and a $25 gift card for the Dillon Beach General Store ready for your use...
Explore the environs; visit California's only private beach down the hill; unplug, relax, restore. Open the windows before bed; fall asleep to the calming sound of surf; awaken to birds singing and deer grazing in your back yard. Warm yourself with our three fireplaces, upstairs soaking tub, and outdoor jacuzzi.
Feeling adventurous? Dillon Beach is your central HQ for day trips to great nearby destinations: Bodega Bay, Point Reyes National Seashore, Marshall, Occidental, Sebastopol, Tomales Bay, Sonoma wineries, golf courses, the Russian River, and more. Did you bring your electric car? Fill up your battery with our level two car charger. (No addition fee for this - fill up on us!)
The mile-long private beach is well-maintained and has a chill vibe. North of the beach, you'll find tide pools and access to hikeable, pristine coastal nature trails.
For those of you keeping an eye of concern on California’s annual wildfire threats, please know that Dillon Beach sits (quite fortunately) outside California’s primary fire zones. (Search for the California Fire Map and the California Air Quality Map to check current status, of course...) Our town is generally an excellent place to hide out when fire danger increases - and this is one house that does NOT price gouge during fire season. We’re on the higher end of prices all year round, and even moreso during holiday weekends and peak beach months - but not for public safety emergencies. Because we’re all in this together!
And to prepare for unexpected issues, we've installed solar panels and house batteries. Should PG&E have a power shutoff event, the lights/heat/fridge/etc will remain powered up for days, with the stored battery power and the replenishment of the solar panels.
If you want activity, there are walkable, picturesque hikes upon which you can set out directly from the house - or drivable to, if you so desire. You can join others relaxing strolling and surfing and boogie boarding (use our beach chairs, boogie boards, beach wagon and beach bags, please!) and fishing on the beach. Drive north or south for restaurants and attractions; enjoy fresh oysters found at world-famous oyster farms near Dillon Beach along Tomales Bay: Hog Island Oyster Company and Tomales Bay Oysters. Nick's Cove is also a lovely restaurant destination, ten minutes south on Highway One, and Rocker Oysterfellers to the north in Valley Ford is a lively alternative.
And we're constantly updating our home. Here's the current rundown:

“Alex's elegant, remote beachside retreat is one of the nicest Airbnb's I've stayed at. I'm a bit of a snob about house rentals and this place surpassed my expectations - possibly the first time the house is even better in person than in the photos. All the furnishings, design choices, and appliances/electronics are top of the line. You can tell that every detail has been thoughtfully curated by the owners.” – April 2021 guest

The beach house was super comfortable and roomy with an amazing beach view. The outdoor deck area was fantastic with a jacuzzi, sauna, fire pit, and BBQ. The upstairs living room has big windows showcasing the great view of the beach and wildlife (Deer, hawks and rabbits). The game zone was a huge hit. The host was excellent. We would definitely book again.

This house was a great find. Not only is the view amazing from every room it has something for everyone in the family. It was also very clean. Unfortunately due to the crazy storm this past week we had to cut our trip short. The owner was very attentive to our needs and we can't wait to come back!

This place was great to stay at, we enjoyed the open kitchen to make meals, plenty of games in the garage, and the spa and gas firepit out back with a view of the ocean and beach.

If you're looking for a vacation rental that screams classic northern California coastline, look no farther. This beautiful home is a perfect base to explore the iconic beach communities and hidden gems of this area. The views are absolutely stunning. It's beautifully furnished with so many amenities and Alex is an exceptionally gracious host, very accessible and helpful. We traveled with our young adult children who especially loved the unique surf of Dillon Beach, the tasty clam chowder in Bodega Bay, and the game room at the house! We hope to return in the summer. Thank you Alex for sharing your home - we hope to return in the summer.

Five stars. This property has something for everyone in the family and facilitated some great memories. On the fun side, the "Zone" was fun for the whole family with games, ping-pong, and a massage chair. The kitchen table great for board games, the hot tub was the perfect temperature with a great view, musical instruments were a nice surprise, and the fireplaces were a nice touch. The Sonos app was easy to download and allowed us to fill the house with music for a great ambiance. Practically, the house was nicely appointed with well thought out amenities. These included an electric car charger, Nespresso maker with pods (much appreciated after getting in late), full-strength hair dryers, magnetic phone chargers, and even some wind-breakers for those who want to adventure down to the beautiful, but periodically foggy beach. We were also thankful for the full laundry room after our kayak adventure in Tomales Bay. Alex was a great host, who sent out a detailed and (and I never thought I would say this) entertaining instruction manual. His interest in his guests having a good experience shines through. Some things to note:
* We got in late and the fog was so thick, we could only see a few feet in front of us while driving in - just a note to anyone with poor night vision. We needed a GPS/phone!
* The Dillon Beach General Store was a gem. Definitely recommend it. They had a few bakery items and coffee, however the nearest place we found with a hot breakfast was in Tomales.
Overall, if we travel that way again, this property would be tops on our list for both adults and kids alike. Thanks, Alex!

I have used VRBO for over ten years and this was the nicest vacation home we've ever stayed in. It is at the very top of the bluff overlooking Dillon Beach and the surrounding area. The views are incredible, and the accommodations were superb. My wife, two children along with their best friend and parents shared this large home. Both sets of parents were able to have their own on suite bathroom and the kids also shared a large bathroom. We did not use the sauna however the hot tub was clean and the night time views of the stars made it memorable. When we weren't at the beach or in the surrounding area the kids spent almost all their time in the "zone" where they could be kids. We had no problems but property management was very responsive to any questions we had. We will definitely be staying here again.

Perfect for a get away. The home gave the perfect amount of space for doing activities together or having some space apart. Alex was very responsive. The room with the two queens can get warm (I think perhaps it has heated floors?), but we visited in August and I'm guessing it's cozy in the winter.

Our new favorite rental home!
This beautiful Dillon Beach home had everything you could imagine you would want in a rental. Alex is an amazing host who should be rated #1 in the VBRO owner list. Everything promised in his online description of the home (and more) was available to us. He is responsive and has a fantastic sense of humor. My two adult daughters and nine-year-old grandson had wonderful time and felt the home was just as awesome as the beach! I would highly recommend Alex and his well-equipped home.

New years
Probably the best “landlord” ever! Attentive and helpful and very supportive of having an enjoyable stay. This was so appreciated. The home is lovely and for everyone that knows Dillons, perfect view of tomales and the sunsets that remind you how lovely life can be….for those that have never visited, you are missing out. Come visit. This Vrbo is worth it.

Great Mancation
A group of 7 of us rented this property for 4 nights. Everything was exactly as depicted in the listing. Alex was extremely responsive (to the point where he sent the housekeeper over immediately to clean up a plant that we discovered had tipped over before we arrived).
We all had a fanstatic time. We will be renting it again.

4 night stay Labor Day 2021
Alex’s Dillon Beach home was beautiful and extremely well stocked. It was the perfect get away for chilling out on the porch and doing some hiking when it was cool and foggy. The sun peaked out a few times in the afternoon and the views of the beach and the stars were great. Alex was a conscientious and gracious host. We would highly recommend his home and would definitely stay again.

Blissful Family Getaway
This house blew past our expectations and Alex the host could not have been more solicitous and helpful. We've stayed in several high-end vacation rentals and this tops them in cleanliness/organization, how well-appointed it was, and the unfettered access to amenities. The location was otherworldly in its beautiful views and the property itself was full of fun activities. Our family created delightful and lasting memories on this vacation because of this unique house. Thank you Alex for opening up your jewel of a home to us.

****THE best ocean getaway****
We have been back from our Dillon Beach getaway for a week and every day since a member of our family has reflected on a part of the trip as a wonderful memory. We exclusively rent through VRBO for our vacations and this ocean home is by far one of our favorites to date.
The pictures of the home, as advertised, don’t begin to share the true beauty and comfort. Keep in mind, and as the host mentions, there isn’t much to do in this part of Northern California. This is why it’s so important to have a luxury home that you WANT to be in. We had multiple age groups in our small family group and everyone was absolutely entertained. The “zone” was perfect for lounging, playing games, enjoying a massage, or getting in a good workout.
The views from the kitchen, living room, master, and spa are a perfect representation of pure Northern California perfection! The morning fog adds a wonderful mystic layer and as it lifts for the day the wildlife starts to parade in. All visible from the comfort of the oversized couch!
One of the most important parts of a vacation rental is the comfort of the sleeping arrangements. The bedrooms are very well appointed with incredibly comfortably bedding. Everyone in our party slept great!! With the downstairs bedrooms that sleep 4 each and a large extra living space, this is the perfect house for a decent size family or multiple families. Everyone has their own comfortable space.
Dillon’s Beach (1.2 miles from the home) does offer a nice beach for the kids to play and the cutest little store that serves gourmet treats. You will definitely need to bring your own groceries! Bodega Bay is a quick 30 minute drive or Tomales is 10 minutes which offers a little deli and pizza parlor.
We absolutely loved this getaway and are already trying to plan our return trip! Thank you to the incredible host for his amazing communication and hospitality!! Definitely a family favorite.

Perfect place for a vacation with kids
We had a blast. The kitchen is really well equipped. The game room is amazing and the location is wonderful.
Could not ask for anything more.
Alex is a gracious and generous host. We will be back!

Beautiful, well-equipped home.
The house had every conceivable kind of entertainment from a massage chair to a Peloton. This made up for the lack of things to do in Dillon Beach.

Dillon Beach Retreat
This Dillon Beach home is one of those places that keeps you yearning for just one more night. The host was exceptional and an excellent communicator which made our stay enjoyable and seamless. He provided a detailed document in advance of our stay which included key information about our arrival, departure and the house in general. The home has stunning, panoramic ocean views near the mouth of Tomales Bay both inside and outside the house which made for a very relaxing, tranquil getaway. The layout has large spacious rooms that accommodates your entire party or there are many spaces that allow for privacy too; the beds and seating were above average in comfort and included 5-star hotel quality linens and amenities; a large fully stocked kitchen with double ovens, Nespresso machine; the outdoor space had plenty of comfortable seating, a jetted spa, barrel sauna, outdoor shower and BBQ; and my personal favorite - Sonos speakers throughout. This vacation home was well maintained and very clean, one of the best we’ve rented and if you have an EV, there's also a Tesla charging station.. Special mention should be given to “The Zone” game room if you have children or are a kid at heart you can play ping pong, foosball, ride the Peloton bike, Dreamwave massage chair, enjoy the retro arcade game machine, large television, countless DVDs; PlayStation; and an array of beach accessories. We can't wait to return!

summer getaway before school/sports start up again
We really enjoy this property- have stayed in the past with different owners. The new upgrades are great and we enjoyed them all. The views are awesome and you can get comfortable with a cup of coffee, a book ,or watch a movie many different spots in the house. Cooked all our meals in the kitchen- we also enjoyed the soft serve ice cream from Dillon beach resort. We bring our own beach chairs but we were shy a couple so it was nice to use the ones in the Zone. Having a bathroom for each bedroom is key and also the half bath upstairs by the living room and kitchen. This is a great spot!!

Great stay, too short though!
I’ve been renting at seadrift and Dillon for over 20 years and Alex was by far the most attentive and kind owner I’ve ever dealt with. We had fog and drizzle every day but it didn’t diminish the beauty. Nothing better than the hot tub and sauna on a foggy evening. Great spot. Will definitely rent again.

Wonderful home for all ages
We had an amazing stay at this property. It had everything you could hope for in a rental! Ms. PAC-man was a hit with the kids, as was the ping pong table and foosball table. The adults enjoyed the massage chair, the hot tub, and the incredible views. Plenty of space to relax and a large table to enjoy special meals together. There was a miscommunication at check in and Alex was extremely available, with prompt communication and he ensured that the situation was fixed. We had such a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return.

Perfect weekend getaway!
The grandparents were in town so we planned this trip to Dillon Beach and had a wonderful family vacation! The house was clean, spacious and fun for our 3 and 5 year olds as well (“the zone”/game room is a perfect kid play area) . Just a short drive to the cute General Store but we stayed at the house most of the time and took advantage of the hot tub and great views. Alex was very nice and responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful getaway!
Very comfortable home in a beautiful location. We were a little nervous about being the very first guests at this home. There were a couple of wrinkles, but Alex was super helpful and responsive and I have no doubt he will try to make things perfect for future guests.
The Dillon Beach house is a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the gorgeous ocean views (wow!), relaxing in the hot tub, and the kids loved watching the family of deer that came by the house every day. Bonus points for the Sonos speakers, Nespresso machine and the most comfortable bed ever (in master bedroom). We LOVED our stay and would absolutely love to come back!
