About this house rental
My property is five acres of a gradual wooded hillside, 450 feet of oceanfront at the end of a dead end road. The house is 75 feet from high tide, which is just far enough to not be swept away. No houses can be seen from the house and no lights can be seen on the 200 degrees of coastline of Muscongus Bay. Bring your canoes and kayaks because you will need them. You can read and see the floorplan and amenities elsewhere on this site.

The property looks just like the VRBO listing. It was very clean and nicely furnished. We had a wonderful time being right on the water and we hope to return in the future.

The house and property are amazing. The beds on the main floor and loft were very comfortable, unlike anywhere else we have stayed! We didn't use the ground floor but could see it was well equipped just like the floors above. The owner and manager were awesome as well.
We give this home a 5 STAR rating we will definitely be returning!

We had an outstanding visit. The location is quiet, private, and has fantastic views of Muscongus Bay. Checking in and out was simple, and both Rick (host) and property manager (Mary) were very communicative. The home was exactly as listed online; clean, comfortable, and well provisioned. Rick made our dog feel very welcome, and she was very comfortable during our stay.
We enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee on the deck, watching birds and seals in the bay. Location is wonderfully close to Muscongus Bay Lobster Company, Pemaquid Point lighthouse, and within easy distance of both Damariscotta and Waldoboro.
We can't wait to return!

The house is perfect for its setting and accommodated our family nicely. The photographs on its VRBO listing accurately depict the house. The house is nicely decorated and maintained. The view is gorgeous, and the setting is private but not isolated. Rick provided a lot of good information about the area, which added to our enjoyment of our stay. We hope to go back next year.

The owner was responsive and gave great information before and during our stay. We saw loons, bay ducks, an eagle, and there was a lovely balsam fragrance coming from the woods. The rocky beach was fun to explore. Very private, quiet location.

Winter Haven
Lovely location for a winter getaway on the Maine coast! Secluded, amazing oceanfront views, picturesque and friendly neighborhood for walks. House very comfortable, immediately felt right at home. Owner and caretaker very helpful and responsive. Beautiful sunrises and lots of water fowl to observe. Nice beach for sea glass treasures. Beautiful home on the ocean for any time of year. Thank you for sharing your home Rick!

Very special place
We (husband and I) spent two weeks here in September and had a terrific time. Lots of watching the light change on the water, enjoying the visits from the eagle pair, and walking into Round Pond for coffee or ice cream. The setting is spectacular and unique and the house is very comfortable and well outfitted. We had friends visit for part of our stay and it can feel a little tight for 6 adults but we had beautiful weather so could spread out to the deck and down to the water as well. Strong wifi, great book collections, and very dog-friendly. Recommend checking out Broad Arrow Farm, Julie's farm stand, and local oysters. Rick was very easy to communicate with and responsive to any questions or needs, (including our suggestion that the double beds be replaced in the future with queens which would be great!). We loved the house and the area so much that we hope to return next year.

OK
There were some things that I would've preferred in hindsight. The laundry equipment did not work. There was no air-conditioning. We went to a hardware store and bought a bunch of fans because it was very stuffy. The deck paint came up and stuck to your feet. There was no dock. The view was awesome. Parking was a hassle. For the amount of money we paid I expected more.

solitude on the sound
The cottage was perfect for our family and grandchildren. Three levels with comfortable bedding. An efficient kitchen with a large fridge and a gas stove for you foodies. A large second floor deck overlooking Muscongus sound. My daughter explored the sound with the large canoe provided. On natures doorstep we observed eagles, osprey, seals, otters, cormorants, gulls, and porpoise. The throaty rumble of lobster boats would wake us in the morning. A protected cove down a short path from the cottage provided a much used swimming hole for the children. We will be back next year.

The views were spectacular
Can't beat the views sitting on the deck.
House fully accommodating. Family of 5 adults. Brought our kayaks and enjoyed cruising the near by ponds and two got courageous and paddled to hog island. Saw local fishermen pull in fish by the barrels (while the seals appeared to be begging) and check lobster traps. Eagle flew around and hummingbirds visited. Had a Great time

Nice get-away
The house had everything you need for a perfect stay. All the personal items felt as if we were staying with a member of the family. You could tell that the owners had a lot of nice memories there. Eric (Rick) was very accommodating and nice right from the start. The weather turned out to be beautiful so enjoyed Pemaquid beach just a few miles away. It was a beautiful get-away :)

Breathtaking views, private, relaxing
We enjoyed our time in this breathtaking cottage tucked away from the world. Being steps from the ocean was magnificent. We spent hours relaxing on the porch, shaded by the trees, listening to the ocean and breeze.. we enjoyed taking the canoe out a few times on calm (not windy) days. Kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with basics. Clean, neat sheets and comforters on each bed. Beautiful houses along the shoreline. We shopped for groceries before heading to the house. Are most dinners at local lobster restaurants on the shore like Muscongus Bay Lobster (in town) or in Demariscotta (20 minutes away).

The most beautiful setting
The house is situated at the end of the road in the most beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. We loved the location -- it was incredibly quiet and peaceful.
The place itself is great and immaculately clean, with very strong wifi and everything you'd need for a good stay. The closest town is about 20 min away, with a big supermarket and various restaurants.
Rick was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect mid coast getaway
Rick is a caring and thoughtful owner who goes out of his way to make your vacation memorable. The property gives a sense of “at home” comfort as soon as you open the door and boasts a beach with the best treasure hunting. We would walk the beach every morning whenever the tide was low. We hope to come back when the water is warmer. The small town is centrally located with attractions within 30 minutes. When you think of the perfect Maine getaway, this is the place you’re thinking of.
