Forget the commercialism and congestion of the Cape, Martha's Vineyard or even Coastal Southern Maine. This property located right in Maine’s Mid Coast, situated perfectly between Portland (approximately an hour to the South) and Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park) to the north, and near beautiful Boothbay and Camden.
The property sits atop 3 expansive and private acres of land on a hill sloping down to the Atlantic Ocean, and consists of two separate living spaces;
First, --a lovely classic 3 Bedroom Maine cape style home (built in 1998) and second, a detached 2 bedroom 'Boat House' for additional living, sleeping and recreation.
The main house has a crisp, bright, open concept post and beam layout, with a kitchen island, spacious dining area, and living room. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms (queen beds) and the lower level has a movie theater, games and large ultra-comfortable seating with a walk-out to the lower deck & hot tub.
Two spacious decks face the ocean, the upper with lounge patio seating area and grill, the lower deck with a patio seating area and Hot Springs Spa. There are 2 bathrooms in the main house and 1 in the guest space.
The Boat House is an extraordinary structure, originally designed to build and store commercial lobster boats, in which a large, spacious section has been renovated into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath space.
The Boat House has vaulted high ceilings, granite stone tile flooring, and sleeps 4 comfortably (two bedrooms- queen beds). The Boat House is ideal for the kids or extended family. It includes a seating area and smart HDTV. The front of the barn has a bonus space with kids play equipment for use.
The property comes equipped with kayaks
(2 single kayaks, a three person canoe-kayak hybrid, three 2-seater open kayaks)
along with life jackets and paddles.
The kayaking routes are literally some of the best in the world, and you can explore dozens of pristine islands and shore-for swimming , sunbathing, picnicking and hiking.
Relax in the 5- person salt-water spa overlooking the ocean or enjoy movies in the home theater complete with a large movie screen.
You can eat fresh lobster caught and cooked daily at the neighborhood lobster cooperative (Broad Cove Marine) about a two hundred yard walk down the hill from the house. After dinner, enjoy the firepit in the yard for roasting marshmallows and sitting around the fire.
Damariscotta, with its famous harbor, restaurants and quaint shopping, and Hannaford's shopping center, is only 10-15 minutes from the house.
Pemaquid Point Beach, is one of Maine's most gorgeous sandy beaches and home to the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Pemaquid Point Light, is about 20 minutes from the house.
The ferry to spectacular Monhegan Island leaves daily from New Harbor and Port Clyde about 20 to 30 minutes from the house, respectively; and the popular towns of Camden and Boothbay Harbor are each about 20-30 miles away.
The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, linens, towels and supplies, wireless internet, outdoor furniture and grill, DVD player, a BOSE sound station and 3 smart LCD HD TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc... built in for watching movies.

Wonderful time spent in mid-coast Maine at the Bremen House. Bonnie is a fabulous host, providing everything needed for a spectacular time. House accommodated our 7 adults, two children perfectly well with the boat house. The hot tub and kayaks were used on a daily basis. The spacious layout gave us time together, yet time apart when desired. The two hammocks were great spots to enjoy morning coffee and afternoon reads. The fire pit provided a spot for nighttime gatherings.
The location of The Bremen House couldn’t be better. Just walk down the street for fresh lobstah, oysters, clams and scallops at the BYO Broad Cove Marine. Also convenient to a wide variety of shops in Damariscotta and Waldoboro. Permaquid Point is also a great place to visit. We took a one-day trip to Acadia and got back before dark. Plenty of local hiking trails around the area.
No need to look any further than The Bremen House if it has the number of bedrooms you need.

We stayed with friends for a week while we check edin on our home renovation happening nearby -- it was the perfect spot not only as a home base but for some rest and relaxation at the same time. Beautiful views and sunrises, lobster fresh off the dock down the road, great kitchen for cooking in the off-season, comfortable bedrooms and space for us to read and relax. Lovely walks up and down the road with views of working harbor and islands beyond. Highly recommend!

Bonnie's oceanfront home is beyond amazing. Completely surround in natural beauty and the view from the master bedroom is stunning. Each morning brought a different view; crystal clear bright sun, moody fog, still calm rain - all of which were amazing. The home was exactly as the post describes and more. The kitchen is very well appointed. The bedrooms are comfortable and light-filled. It was a perfect getaway location for us with Damariscotta only a 17 minutes car ride into town. The boat house is very nicely decorated and comfortable. Our family came into visit for a few days and loved staying there. I cannot say enough good things about this home. It's exceptional and we miss staying there already. Thank you, Bonnie, for everything.

Bonnie’s house was a welcoming port in a storm. Very clean, comfortable, great views, and a theatre in the basement. Everything is provided to get off the map for a while, while still being 15-20 min from Damariscotta for amenities.
Very happy with my booking and prompt correspondence with the owner.

There are three bedrooms in the main house and also two double beds (semi-private) in the boat house with a living space, mini fridge and shower as well. The third bedroom is pretty small. We stayed with six people (three couples) and it was great! The kitchen was the only negative-stove and outdoor grill was kinda old and too many pans were made of scratched up Teflon. But it is truly beautiful and so relaxing. And there’s a movie watching room to relax in!

We could not of wished for a better place to spend our first vacation since Covid. The house was just what we wanted. Great location, and beautiful waterfront view. The house was spacious and beautifully decorated.
Our host, Bonnie, was everything a good host could be.
I would rate this as one of the best places we have stayed in our travels over the last 30 years.
Would go there again in a heart beat.

Owner was very responsive and gave us a partial refund when an appliance didn’t work.

We're from the Chicago area and had the opportunity to extend our stay in Maine this past few weeks (my husband is a traveling nurse/trainer and works in field and remotely).
We chose the Bremen House for our stay. For me and our family, to spend this time together in a peaceful, beautiful quiet area and home was such a blessing and lifted our spirits.
The house sits on top of 3 beautiful private acres that slopes down to the harbor with natural paths and landscape to the pier and float- beautiful trees, song birds, and a half acre of raspberries, which I wish we could have stayed to see bloom this season.
The kayaks are family-style and every morning we got up and took a little paddle around the harbor together- so picturesque- The lobster boats and the lovely fishing community surrounding the harbor - we took amazing photos. The kids loved the kayaking. We were able to paddle to Hog Island on one of the days and do a little bit of exploring on the back side via an incredible woods trail that winds along the ocean in a pristine virgin forest. We've never seen anything like it and won't forget it.
Although we didn't sleep in the boat house., The back has a living area, two bedrooms, bath and big screen TV in a open vaulted space with an interesting and really nice crisp, open Maine 'antique' boat feel...the front section of the barn has a kids size pool table and foos ball, a great 'hang out' bonus spot.
The main house has super-comfy bedrooms, two living areas, the lower level includes a theater screen for streaming movies- and you walk straight out onto the lower deck with a seating area and AWESOME hot tub- we spent every evening in it with a glass of wine after the kids were in bed. Morning were spent lounging on the upper deck watching the view- and a great place for some sun.
We had some AMAZING lobster dinners- a few at Broad Cove marine next door- and then went to the co-op down the road and got live lobsters to go- cooked them here and had old fashioned lobster dinners. Could not get enough. Community shelfish is up the street- the local clams are to die for!
Site- seeing, drives and we were able to have a few outdoor dining experiences as the state is beginning to open.
Our hostess Bonnie is from Maine and was able to give us all kinds of local options for things to do and was available for anything.
This home and surrounding area was just what we needed. We will definitely be back next year.

This was a wonderful place to have our annual family vacation. There was so much to see we felt like we needed two weeks instead of one!
We kayaked to the small islands nearby with a picnic lunch, blankets and sunbathed ans swam all day.
We ate TONS of fresh Maine lobster, had a campfire and smores every night.
There was plenty of space and activities for us to enjoy! We will definitely come again!

Beautiful location, couldn't be more relaxing, spacious and nicely laid out, everything was there for us, just bring yourselves and some food. Owner was very responsive to any questions.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving and what a great place to be for the Holiday! This home is just so cozy and beautiful like a post-card. We loved the open layout for cooking and spending time together and our kids especially loved all of the games in the basement and the boathouse. Bremen is simply gorgeous and under the radar too. We'll be back next year!

What a stunning property! We were here for a weekend in the late fall after most of the leaves had fallen and were still amazed and the incredible beauty. I can only imagine how this place feels earlier in the fall or in the summer. We've been to Maine many times and this home is by far our favorite. Thanks for sharing your amazing home with us Dan!

This was our third trip to Bremen in as many years and as usual we had another awesome week! I can't say enough good things about this property. The smell of salt in the air, the INCREDIBLE lobster everywhere you turn, the beautiful and cozy rooms in the house. This place is a real gem and is becoming a fixture for us every fall.

We had a terrific week in Bremen! This was our first time to Maine (from Colorado) and Dan's home more than met our expectations. First off, it is in a great location, which enabled us to see everything we wanted to see on the coast of Maine within a relatively short day trip. Next, the house was super clean and comfortable, with a large, open kitchen and living area and great views from all of the rooms. Our kids enjoyed the games in both the basement and the boathouse, and we enjoyed having a little privacy in the house while they were enjoying the boat house. Finally, Dan was a great host, making us feel welcomed and comfortable right from the start. Thanks Dan for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We had a great time at 328 Medomak! I’ve never stayed in a VRBO that provided so many extras in the kitchen & bathroom! You were absolutely right about the lobster pound down the road, it was the best! And the
steamed clams were amazing! The pounds closed on Tue. after we arrived on Sat. So we had to buy direct & cook our own. Thank you for the use of your home!

Location was awesome! We went in the winter so there was snow everywhere but it was still beautiful. I can only imagine how fun it would be during the summer. Great stay. Thanks Dan. Oh and we had some fresh live Maine lobster. Holy moly, best meal I've ever had!!!!!

This was the perfect house for our perfect day! We came from Bremen in Germany to celebrate in Bremen, Maine together with the American part of our family. We all kayaked, ate tons of lobster, had smores around the campfire--we definitely hope to come back to this slice of heaven!

My family picked this place for a reunion, it has everything we needed for an adventure away. We kayaked in the bay, hung out in the cabin, the location was perfect for hiking or to get to Portland. Wouldn't change a thing! The owner was super helpful with scheduling, great with communication.

The Plosser family had several "firsts" this trip; canoeing, kayaking for some, playing pool & ping pong for some (crazy I know but some people don't get out much!:). We visited New Harbor, Wiscassett, Boothbay Harbor, Morses sauerkraut, Montsweag flea market, North of the Border, Round Pond, and many other places. What a beautiful retreat for our clan.

Celebrated a 30 year Anniversary, an 8 year Anniversary and a 60th Birthday! Had incredible weather and took full advantage. Acadia, Bar Harbor, and all kinds of light houses in the area. This house is amazing with everything you need for a wonderful stay! Hanging out on the dock and kayaking, making fires every nights and the boat house for the kids worked out perfect. We will be back!

We came to Maine for a celebration of our parents' (and grandparents') 50th wedding anniversary. 12 of us drove all the way from Michigan. There was plenty of room for all of us to be together but also have our own space. We enjoyed cooking lobsters from down the road. We loved the peace and quiet here. We made several day trips to whale watch, shop, visit Acadia National Park and enjoyed Pemaquid Beach. Made lots of great memories with 3 generations!

Stayed here with my mother, uncle, brother, his girlfriend, and our 2 bulldogs. The property was very comfortable and well-suited to our needs. The open plan living-dining-kitchen area that opens on to the back deck is very nice for socializing.
