Carol’s apartment suited our needs while we volunteered aboard the Inland Seas. The apartment was clean and we enjoyed the balcony. We gave this a rating of four stars because the apartment was older and the price was higher than we expected. We would have appreciated a broom to clean the floor prior to leaving. It took my husband a while to get the air conditioner turned on. Dogs are welcome, but you will need to walk them away from the property for them to relieve themselves. Carol provided her contact information on the side of the refrigerator but we didn’t see this until the day prior to leaving. My

The location was convenient and the unit was clean.
We didn’t expect it to be so rough and worn. The bedrooms had extremely loud unit air conditioners, and the rooms were very chopped up. There are several other units zig zagged around this one. It’s fine if you are just looking for a place to sleep and plan to be out of the unit most of the time.

We left 3 days early. Place was filthy. Over priced. Scarey electrical. AC was poorly maintained.. plumbing in bathtub was hard to drain.
Carpet and rugs were filthy. Patio and below stairs was Scarey filthy. Poorly maintained.
Location was great. I expected more for what I paid. Tv was limited and needs updated. Suttons Bay itself was Quaint and friendly.

Pickleball, beach volleyball, paved biking/running trail, theatre, restaurants, marina, boutiques, ice cream shops all within easy walk.
A/C units had a hard time keeping up with humid, upper 80 degree days but portable fans helped.
Loved eating breakfast/lunch on the deck and Carol was a gracious host.

The property was great for what we intended it to be. We used it as a homebase for seeing the Leelanau Peninsula. We would have stayed again in 2025, but the price per night increased $50 each night. It is a loft so there are a flight of stairs to climb to get to it. It has a cute patio for having a relaxing drink in the evening. It is in the heart of Sutton's Bay so easy to walk everywhere. The property manager was very responsive to our questions.

If you want to be able to walk to the beach, two minutes to coffee in one direction and two minutes to the ice cream parlor and the other direction, this is a place for you!
The apartment is located directly above one of the shops on M22 in Suttons Bay.
The apartment is exactly as it is shown. Owner was amazing with communication and made sure everything was taken care of.
A person in a previous comment mentioned the air conditioner is in the living room so the bedrooms tend to get warm. One room has a portable air unit and if you open windows at night when it cools down that helps. (Bring ear plugs, there will be random loud trucks drive by throughout the night). Our temps were fine, no complaints from us. We would stay here again!

Nice property in the middle of downtown Sutton Bay! Nice layout for 2 couples or a small family of 4! Great location, close to shops, dining and the beach! Check out Northern Latitudes Distillery across the street for nice drinks snd great coffee in the morning! Would definitely stay again if we get a chance to return to beautiful Northern Michigan!

Great location, right downtown - we walked everywhere. Parking was nice, the whole apartment was really great. Enough room for a family of four or two couples, this one is more about the location/proximity to SB amenities though! Very clean, we’ll be back for sure.

Great location for not having to drive. The cocktail place across the street is great but be careful the drinks are strong. Had a great time. Thanks!

We loved the location! Having a dedicated parking space was great. Watched the sunrise right across the street. Enjoyed dining for breakfast and dinner (and ice cream) so close. We only had 2 of us but easily spacious enough for 4 people. Just a few things to think about…Shower head should be replaced and there were a lot of bees in the umbrella outside so we couldn’t use it. We would stay again!

We found the loft to be a very clean and pleasant atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The only issue was trying to get our access information Pryor to arrival. Once we managed to contact the host by phone, we discovered that an error in keying our email address caused our access info to not arrive. It was easily corrected by phone! All is well that ends well!

Do not come here thinking this is a 5 star hotel… but do come here if you want the perfect feel of lake like… This is a place that will give you a true feeling of what northern Michigan is all about…3 minute walk to the beach … stroll Main Street from your door…Every thing you need for a wonderful stay… clean… equipped…and the deck was an added plus!

We loved The Loft! It is a beautiful upstairs, two bedroom apartment right in the middle of downtown Sutton's Bay! The location is perfect! I stayed in The Loft last year with a different friend, and I knew I wanted to come back and stay there again. Easy trips to Leland and Traverse City as well, and we appreciate the ability to bring our dogs with us for the weekend!
Thank you! Jan and Wendy

This place is exactly as advertised - adorable and full of character in a beautifully quaint little town on suttons bay. It’s tucked in with a bunch of charming art gallery and steps from a great breakfast/coffee nook. The owner places little helpful handwritten notes on how to use the tv’s, etc. around the apartment. We also SO appreciate it being dog friendly as we were traveling for a wedding and didn’t have reliable care. There is a field in back of the complex that’s perfect for walks and going potty. I gave this listing four stars, not because we don’t love it, but because I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who is overly persnickety about cleanliness and up to date fixtures. It could use a rug shampoo or new carpet, as well as a once over for the walls and ceilings. Didn’t bother us one bit, but someone like my fussy mother in law wouldn’t love it. Overall a wonderful visit and we would stay there again if ever in the area!

The loft was advertised. Perfect location for us in the heart of Suttons Bay and essentially across the street from the beach and a playground. The loft was clean and had everything we needed. Carol was responsive when I reached out to her. We hope to return.

This property was very convenient for our stay. You can’t get any closer to the main stores and restaurants than staying above one of the businesses. We enjoyed being just a block away from the water too.
It was the hub of our travels since we did tourist site seeing around the peninsula to see the dunes, etc. and then had a wedding in Northport.
Therefore, we did not spend a lot of time in the actual rental except to fall into bed exhausted!
The outside steps could use additional lighting for after dark arrivals. The bedroom closet could use some updating and curtains to the street could provide better privacy, but the place served our needs.
We were surprised to see the gift certificate but we never had time to use it, therefore paying it forward to the next renter!

My partner and I with our 4 year old son had a great time in downtown Sutton's Bay. We really appreciated that the property was located in the middle of the downtown area. It had a parking space which was great, but there was also on street parking usually available. We went up to Sutton's Bay mid week to avoid the usual busy summer weekends. We checked in a little early, and happened to run into the property manager on site. Everything was very clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed for a stay up north. We wanted the location to be able to walk to an ice cream store and a park with a beach which were only a couple blocks away. There are tons of fun shops and restaurants right outside the front of the building. The deck out back of the rental unit was a great place to sit in the cool weather and relax at night while still being able to hear the bustle of the downtown. It got quiet at night and there was no issue with too much noise or anything. You are also about 15 minutes from Leland, or Northport, or any number of beaches and about 20 minutes from Traverse City downtown. It really is a perfect place to be without all the crowds and business of Traverse City. We really enjoyed that the kitchen had everything we could possibly need.

The place was clean and the property was listed accurately. Just a heads up for those of you that do not live up north. There’s no central AC which was something I didn’t think about looking for in the description. (My fault not their’s) so we were very warm and ended up sleeping down the road with family at night but got ready for the day at the property. Other than that no issues. Check in/out was easy and the place was clean.

What a great time!!
The beds we’re very comfortable. Tons of extra blankets sheets and towels. Kitchen was very well stocked. The apartment was very clean. The location is amazing. The neighbors I can’t express how nice they are. They really made the trip even better. The stores on the strip are great. The bike shop across the street was amazing. We took a bike ride from Suttons Bay to Traverse City and took the bus back. Great location. Sitting on the porch was so wonderful in the morning drinking my coffee. Very peaceful at night. We will definitely stay again.

The loft
Great location! Downside is that it is construction season and they were tearing up the main roads. We were woken up by 7am from all the noise as it was right out front. We definitely was not expecting all that noise. We had to run go grab some blankets an pillows as there weren’t any extra in the loft and we utilized the futon and it was chilly. Bring some extra towels when you stay. :) The loft is super cute, great location and clean. I would definitely stay again, hopefully without road construction😂

Absolutely nice and cozy place for staying.
Everything was great! The only little thing - we didn't receive the welcome package before our departure for vacations . So we had to communicate with the owner to ask some questions. It was easy to connect, however, I think, this suppose to be VRBO administration's responsibilities. This is the only point of negative. The other was great!

Great location. Eclectic loft
Enjoyed our Suttons Bay stay. Great location for the loft. Right in town and close to the beach. Was with my elderly mother and pup. Comfortable beds and pretty clean. Just a couple of thing: door lock and screen door need to be fixed or adjusted, my pup pushed the screen door right open, the room with the tv could use a darkening shade/curtain and we couldn’t get the tv to work. The place has direct tv and we couldn’t get it to work properly. We couldn’t even get local channels. (Kind of a big deal for my mother) Owner said she didn’t know how to fix and didn’t respond following day when I left a message. The tv was not a huge deal for me. Maybe include better instructions for tv, ac etc…
It is a great location in town and to other areas as well. I would likely stay here again but not with my elderly mother
