About this apartment rental
Historic loft centrally located along the St. Charles riverfront, on the north end of Main Street and just south of Frenchtown. Enjoy Frontier Park, shops, restaurants, and night scene - all within walking distance.
The newly renovated 2 bedroom and 2 full bathroom apartment can easily accommodate groups of six. The completely updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher. Convenient in-house washer and dryer available for extended stays
Note to guest:
1) No visitors allowed unless discussed with owner.
2) $15 extra guest fee after 4 guests
3) Air conditioner minimum temperature is 72 Fahrenheit. All units have new air conditioners. But the red brick walls have no insulation and during the hot weather if the air conditioner is pushed too hard, it will create blocks of ice inside it then quit working until the ice melts. This problem only happens if temperatures are set below 70 F, so we limit it to 72 F.
4) We are above a coffee shop, so there is potential for noise.

We've never been to St. Charles before, but it will now be our choice when we visit the St. Louis area. This apartment was connected to a local coffee shop, big bonus for us. But also within walking distance from tons of restaurants, bakeries, and more coffee shops. The apartment was clean, homey, and comfortable. Exactly what we were looking for, and we will stay here again.

Overall clean, very small living area, don’t even consider using the outdoor patio and chairs bc there is a smelly nasty dumpster right under and 2 ac units next to it. Not sure why the dumpster needed to be placed there because it could’ve been moved over next to the other dumpster on the other side of the parking lot well away from the outdoor deck. Make sure you go in with a bag of ice because the ice maker is not hooked up and there is one broken ice tray. Many beds upstairs, but the place is too small to really accommodate more than four Comfortably. Bathroom upstairs extremely small with no towel racks even.

We wanted to stay on Main St and this was right off the street. Lots of places to eat n shop.
The Lofts was clean, well decorated and convenient to what we wanted. One of my favorite things was the same building has a very good coffee shop. Started our days with fresh coffee n tea and a pastry. Highly recommend the rental and location!

The location to Main Street was a huge plus. Comfortable and spacious loft.

Convenient location to walk to shops and restaurants or go for a run, larger than expected, and very clean. Comfortable beds. Combination of queen in separate bedroom and multiple twin beds in loft worked well for us.

Stayed one night with friends. We have never been to St Charles before. The location was perfect. The host was very easy to get a hold of and the house was perfect for two couples.

4 adults stayed in 4 twin beds on upper floor, used both bathrooms, left queen sized bed on first floor empty. Enjoyed free coffee with coffee pot and purchased almond and pistachio chocolate croissants and Turkish coffee at cool Yemeni coffee shop downstairs. Ate sandwiches and wraps at The Bike Shop and a variety of delicious salads and entrees at Louis and Clark restaurant. Made numerous purchases at bookstores, The Animal Store and gift shops.

Pros: communication went well; didn't agree with a stipulation, but very much appreciated them working with me; able to screenshare to the TV; digital key; seasonings and some food items in cabinets; chain on door.
Cons: some decor in photos were missing; toilet paper ran out first night after two uses; tea bag holder had only 2/20+ spaces filled; basic cleaning vs a thorough cleaning that'll remove evidence of previous guests; parking spot near funky dumpster.
Nice unit, comfortable, safe area, plenty of dishes. It was a nice stay, we all had a good time. Just needed better prepping for new guests, a deeper cleaning, and more intent on actually hosting guests. Those are easy fixes, so feel free to check them out. We had a good stay. Thanks for having us!

My best friend and I spent 4 nights in this unit in June 2024. We had plenty of room, and we loved the look of the place. Nicely decorated with exposed brick so you can see the age of the building. We had a couple of issues that the owners addressed immediately. One was with the AC and the owners came over to get it fixed and then came back again later that day to check on it. That is great service! Communication was some of the best I’ve ever had through a vacation rental. I don’t believe I’ve ever actually met an owner before.
The location is great! We were able to walk to everything on Main Street, and we highly recommend the coffee shop downstairs!! We visited that place every day. Overall this was a great experience and I would definitely rent this same place again on future visits to St. Charles!

Absolute best VRBO stay ever and we have done a lot. The host communicated and very responsive. HIGHLY recommend this property and this host.

The second day and night spent in St Charles was muggy and warm. After an evening event, we discovered that the thermostat was limited to not allow for a setting lower than 72 degrees. With the humidity and 3 bodies sleeping on the upper level, it was warm and uncomfortable. We all slept poorly, making for a rough travel day back. We were exhausted.

Photos don't do it justice. This was the perfect place to stay for me and my family during my college graduation weekend. The accommodations are a perfect balance between chic, cozy, and modern. There was plenty of space for all 5 of us to spread out and relax. We never felt like we were crowded or had too little privacy. The upstairs loft is a neat spot to chill or to sleep, and in the living room/dining room/kitchen area we could visit while watching TV, eating, and cooking/cleaning in the kitchen, which was nice. The location is perfect, there is lots to do and explore within walking distance. We never had to drive to find things to do.
Thank you! My family loved the place and we all give it a 10/10 and would absolutely stay here again.

This unit was perfect except for one downfall. It should be explicitly stated on this listing that renters will not have full control of the thermostat. We found it unusual that there were directions near the thermostat on the first floor not go below 72 when upstairs was a bit warm on a nice day in the 70s or so. We opened windows and turned on ceiling fans to compensate. When we went to bed on a friday night, we were faced with the challenge of drowning out noise from loud groups at the bars and loud cars near the riverfront, or problematic heat. The two of us that slept upstairs got very little sleep and almost left in the middle of the night. The one that slept downstairs slept great. If the unit had been less expensive I probably would not have even rated it because this is my first time giving a unit less than 5 stars. For 300+ for one night stay, our group mutually felt we should have been warned that the unit sits above 72degrees and can’t be cooled down- we would have gladly selected a different unit with a further location from main street to be more comfortable. We did not try to get a refund and chalked it up to a one off bad experience using vrbo as this has never happened before. Again, unit cute, clean, and excellent location… just wouldn't recommend in temperatures above 50s/60s if windows will need to be opened due to street noise and maybe property owner can provide some box fans for future renters.

Things to be aware of before booking this property:
The AC thermostat can only go down to 69 degrees otherwise the system will freeze. So if you’re staying in St. Charles when it 70 degrees or higher this unit will be hot. It’s an old brick building that holds heat and no fan in the bedrooms.
Secondly, if you take a shower or need hot water by faucet the water heater is 20ft away (as told to me by the owner) Plan to wait a bit to take a shower or wash face etc….
Thirdly, the sheets and towels are washed with fragrant laundry soap. For someone who has sensitive skin, this was an issue.
Lastly, the low floor bedroom and bathroom had gnats and mosquitoes and cob webs and spiders. The loft just wasn’t clean and unkept, you would think the owners would check the unit before guest arrive.
As for the owners they are very nice and accommodating. The loft was not a fit for us and we ended up leaving within hours of arrival to a hotel for the remainder of our stay without any refund.

In town for a holiday family gathering. We enjoyed this cute place just off Main in the Old Town Historical area. Adult kids used the upstairs. Cute shops. Many coffee, restaurants and bar options. Very quick response from host on minor detail. Would love to stay again.

Property was great. Perfect for our family of 5 to celebrate Thanksgiving together. We enjoyed walking on Main Street and going to check out the river.

Place was as described. Temperature between downstairs and loft was markedly different. Not sure what “host fees” are but they seemed high (almost the same as the nightly charge.). Thought cost per night seemed very reasonable until the “fees” nearly doubled it. Just be upfront in your post when stating how much you want per night.

Great location on main street, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, felt very safe in this area, was comfortable and clean except for the lamp shades in the master bedroom. Ice maker wasn't working, had to get a bag of ice. Overall loved our stay and are looking forward to staying again.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law stayed at this loft for a wedding at the Foundry in St. Charles. The location is amazing, extremely convenient and walkable to everything on Main Street St. Charles. We also biked the Katy Trail as it is just a block or two from the loft. As described, there is only one bedroom downstairs. There are several single beds and a futon to sleep on in the loft upstairs, but no other closed bedroom. The place was very clean. We did not cook or eat there, so I cannot say much about how well the kitchen was stocked. But there was plenty of Keurig coffee pods which we needed. There was a little porch overlooking the parked cars, not ideal but okay to have a place to sit outside. We had one issue with the keypad not working when returning from our bike ride, but we called property manager and she was able to reset it right away remotely. One other bonus was the cool Farmer’s Market on Saturday a.m. just across from our loft. Highly recommend this cute and convenient loft!

This is overall a great property in a great location.
Although, warm sleepers beware…there is a restriction on the air conditioning that can’t go below 72. It made for a couple of pretty uncomfortable restless nights for me, although my daughters were comfortable.

We return to STL regularly from out of state to visit our grown children. This unit was a favorite as we were in the heart of St. Charles Main Street providing easy access to restaurants and shopping...even connected to a fantastic ice cream shop served with fresh cookies! The upstairs was perfect for an overnighter for our grand daughters.

Excellent stay in St. Charles! The loft is great for a family of four or a couple. Lots of room and a full kitchen with all the cooking gear you need. Grocery store is close and main street has many options for restaurants and bars. Lots of history to see and Katy Trail is awesome to walk or bike (rentals right by the trail). This will be our spot when we come back.

Great Host!! We all loved the property and the location. We were also staying right above an ice cream shop. You can't get any better than that, right? It was very clean and had everything that we needed. Two bathrooms made it ideal for 4 women. The only negative thing was the 2 twin beds upstairs, very uncomfortable and noisy when you would move around while sleeping. One sister had to go sleep on the couch, all other beds were fine. Had a wonderful stay, of course, I wasn't the one sleeping on the couch. LOL Ideal for kids, up there. We were all in our sixties, so that makes a big difference. Thanks
