We were so well looked after, the location was superb and really relaxing. We stayed in a hive. The bar/restaurant had a huge window looking out over fields and it was lovely to sit and watch the world go by with a drink and at breakfast. The staff were exceptional.

Location good
Dinner not worth the money , very salty

Food was fantastic. Generally the facilities were fantastic
Milk was off in the fridge on first floor. When booking it should be clearer whether there was a bath or shower in the room - particularly important for accessibility

Lovely, peaceful relaxing place. Great staff, who were friendly & so helpful! Wish we stayed longer!
Specifically asked for birthday touches, I.e) in the cabin/room and they weren’t done.
Restaurant birthday celebrations weren’t all that either

Ingredients seemed good quality. Restaurant building was lovely. Staff were friendly.
Food tasted bland. At dinner staff were reasonably attentive, but seemed rather poorly trained. In particular a cherry fell off my dessert onto the floor, and was replaced by a glace cherry from the bar rather than going back to the kitchen for a real one. At breakfast we had to wait over 20 minutes just to order. There were lots of waiting staff, but it was almost impossible to get their attention, I asked for muesli but it never came, later we asked for toast but that didn't come either. The food we did manage to get for breakfast was fine but it was a frustrating experience.

We were attending a wedding ceremony being held, my wife thought the character and style of the venue was first class
Lack of lift for carrying luggage upstairs

Second visit to this lovely hotel. Wonderful old Manor House tastefully renovated and with an excellent contemporary glass extension for the restaurant.
Cabins and rooms are great. We a cabin the first trip and a king room in the house this time. Wouldn’t go for the ‘Casey’ rooms - very small.
Booked a fly fishing lesson on the Derwent for my wife’s birthday. Which was amazing. The hotel didn’t know of any such instructors etc so I booked this myself (well in advance).
Food and service a bit hit a miss. First night I had the burger which was very poor. Suggest they buy in wagoo burgers from Sainsburys. My wife had the sole which was very good.
Steak and fillet of beef the second which were both very good.
Staff very friendly but lacked training. Forgot our wine order. Knocked over our water bottle and didn’t bother to clean up the mess.

clean and good location
older South African concierge a very pleasant person and made the stay feel unique, always smiling and attentive
young girl on reception very good with customer service and attention
cozy room at £249 was expensive
starters at £15 expensive for small prawns on toasted sourdough
side of chips at £6 a small portion expensive
drinks order took 30mins to be brought out, lack of interpersonal service

Extremely stylish comfortable hotel set in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The Garden Room extension on the side of the building is a great light filled space to eat and drink. Food is impeccably presented, tasty and is sourced locally where possible. The cocktails were to die for! Staff are friendly and super helpful.
The accommodation on offer was to a very high standard. The bed was ultra comfortable and high quality toiletries were fitted in the bathroom. My only gripe was that the bath took a long time to fill but this is only a very minor point!

beautiful hotel and beautifully refurbished. Quiet location but only a short distance from the town. but once you’re at the Hotel you simply won’t want to leave.
we stayed in a beautiful room within the hotel but will rebook a tree house next time. simply to try something difference. I would have no reservations about recommending this location. we’ll be back.

The staff are incredible at Callow Hall. They do everything to make your trip really special and go above and beyond. It’s a beautiful building and we had a great room with tonnes of space. I also had a massage and it was one of the best I’ve had in years.
I really can‘t think of any faults except perhaps that a breakfast included option would be great and also a vegetarian English breakfast with veggie sausages etc.

Good superb, pretty cost room but a little smaller than expected.
Service shocking, we walked out after an hour of getting only hot drinks for breakfast. Staff just not organised and absolutely no system in place to ensure all guests needs are exceeded. The staff are lovely but they need some direction. Just do not expect that at £500 per night. And put baths in your rooms please!!

Stylish Country House hotel suitable for a special treat. Beautifully decorated & nice and warm. 'Master-chef' cuisine style achieved to an excellent standard.

soft mattress & pillows, room stuffy, food in restaurant ok but expensive

the golf car take to much time

Loved the turn down service, coming back to your room with smooth chill playing on the radio was a lovely touch.
The attention to detail and the place smelt amazing!
Bed was very comfortable, large rooms, great blackout curtains.
TVs cannot go louder then 20% volume, good idea for any louder guests!
Lots of suggestions for activities close by so you don’t have to spent too much time planning yourself 😊
Restaurant drinks service was slow and the price for cocktails are priced at high end, what is expected, but unfortunately they were below average.
(The bar tender appeared young and inexperienced for the level required, therefore this may not be a recurring problem and could well be slight teething issues)!

The property is beautiful and the hives are only a few mins up behind, via golf buggy.
I’d have preferred another menu if I were to stay more than 1 night.
