About this villa rental
Villa Tipsy Gecko is a magnificent large very open two story private waterfront beach house located directly on the Caribbean Sea in Placencia, Belize. Outstanding features radiate luxury and beauty throughout this exquisite 5 Bedroom, 4.5 Bath residence. (5th bedroom does not have its own bath, but a half bath across the hall) Home is meticulously maintained by full time onsite staff and very active owners that continue to invest in property and make improvements like the private pool on beach and access to large covered ocean pier, hammocks, and lounge chairs.
The main home is two stories consisting of over 4,000 sq ft of living area and covered patios directly over looking beach, and covered ocean pier. A great view over the lagoon and the Mayan Mountains can also be had from upstairs living area and bedroom.
Upstairs in the home you will find two owner bedroom suites each directly over looking the ocean that provide breathtaking views. Each owner suite includes a large private bathroom, balcony and huge walk in showers. A large living area and full size walk around bar, complete with 50' flat screen TV and private covered balcony are located between the two owner suites making an ideal setting for two couples to use the home at the same time. Another bedroom with a full/twin bunk bed set up, is also located upstairs. This bedroom does not have its own bath but there is a half bath across the hall.
The two remaining bedrooms are located on the first floor, each with its own private bath.
Cook dinner on the large outside gas grill and enjoy a local drink while relaxing under the fans on the large covered patio steps from the ocean. After dinner, enjoy a quiet private walk on the beach with no one around or retire upstairs to enjoy a drink at the large full walk around bar, complete with large flat screen TV, or sit on the adjacent large covered 2nd floor balcony.

Great stay at Tipsy Gecko—— Bob is a great top notch facilitator! Mabel, Sonja, Salvador, Jorge all just amazing folks—— We loved the dock and pool, the chef, the comfortable beds….. So many well thought through amenities.

The property was perfect!
We saw manatees right off the dock and could paddle board and swim right off the beach.

The home was absolutely beautiful and its amenities allowed our entire family (age range 75 to 7) to be included and enjoy the vacation. The dock was the perfect spot to watch the manatees play in the water, the kids loved the beach and pool and we played games on the veranda every evening while chef Domingo cooked amazing meals. Overall a wonderful place to unwind and relax!

Bob was great to work with in helping to plan a wonderful trip for our family. We had 7 from our family and everyone loved the house. The chef cooking for us 2 days was the most luxurious part. He served us and did the dishes. We felt so pampered. House pool was cleaned daily. dock was cool and breezy in the hot afternoon sun. Kayaks were fun.

My husband and I along with our 3 adult daughters and their families including 4 children ages 6 months to 8 years stayed for a week. It was perfect…the most relaxing vacation I have ever experienced! The staff saw to our every need. Manuel cooked us fabulous meals for 3 days of our stay and everyone else saw to it that everything was just right.
The kids were so happy with the pool, dock, paddle boards, kayaks, etc. We did a couple of excursions with Captain Jak’s and they were excellent!
I highly recommend the Tipsky Gecko and hope to come back some day.

this is the 3rd stay with Gecko properties and have found them to be very well kept properties. The on site hosts have made sure our stay was wonderful. Ma Bell and her staff always made our stay feel special with daily maid service and 3 days of having a great chef (Domingo) taking care of all our meal needs. He does a great job of accommodating all our needs and pre-making lunch snacks in place of a full meal. The places we have stayed are exceptionally clean when we arrive and stay that way with the staff doing daily upkeep on the house. Thanks again for another wonderful vacation and have already recommended your properties to friends who have asked about our vacations.

Villa Tipsy Gecko was fantastic! We had our four children, their spouses and our four grand children. We had plenty of room to gather. The outdoor spaces were dreamy! We spent most of our time in Belize on property. The chef services were well worth it, high quality delicious food. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This house surpassed our expectations. We appreciated each person who cooked, cleaned and kept our area spotless, especially Sonia and Domingo. We took advantage of the SUPs and kayaks as well as our pool and the pier. Very comfortable and a lovely place to stay in the Placencia area.

Stayed November 11-18 2023. Everything was top notch. Mabel was on top of things. Quick to respond to texts from Supplied mobile phone! Great to have on drive to Placencia with golf gart. Chef (we hired for the extra days) was awesome. Domingo did nothing but please our palets, Thanks again. Only thing that was not brought to our attention were outside lights. Found the pool lights and Palapa at end of pier lights second last day. A sign on post might help or include in orientation. All in all stay was 100% Would stay and recomend any Gecko properties to friends and family.

This property was wonderful however the air conditioning could be upgraded to do a little better job and a generator system needs to be installed in the event of a power outage which I experienced. If the power goes out you also have no water because the water is pumped.

We stayed at Tipsy Gecko for 7 weeks first & foremost the people here are the happiest, friendliest people we have ever met! The staff is absolutely amazing the house is kept spotless by Mabel & Mindy and Jorge rakes the beach and keeps the pool and grounds perfect. He will get you coconuts to drink the water from them everyday! Delicious! Always with a smile on his face.
The house is great beds are very comfy and house is equipped with everything you need! The chefs were outstanding we had the most delicious food prepared for us Orlando was our favorite but all were great chefs!!
We used Leo’s car rental down the street to take us on private excursions so you can do your own thing and not have to be with a large group. Cave tubing in St. Hermon cave is fun but if you want something a little more adventurous do the cave hike experience with Vida the guide, it was spectacular but you do need to be physically fit it’s well worth it! Swimming in the waterfall is fun and only 30 minutes away then have lunch on the top of the mountain with a 360 degree view of beautiful Belize! We did go to the Mayan ruins a 3 hour drive it was pretty cool and interesting then went to Guatemala !! A must do is to contact Corine at The Yacht Club which is down in the village she will send a boat in the bay of the village to get you, best bruschetta & jalapeño poppers ever!
This truly was our favorite vaca from cold Michigan! Loved being on the beach & having the pier!

We visited for 10 days in February with a group of 8 (6 adults, 2 children ages 5 and 9). There was plenty of space in the house for our family, lots of room for adults and kids to both relax and play together. The house was very well appointed, and well maintained. The ENTIRE staff were so friendly. Mabel was attentive and welcoming. Domingo, the chef, was incredible.
(To be honest, it's hard to write an excellent review because it means more people will want to stay here - which makes our plans to return even harder!!)
We can't say enough about how wonderful our vacation was. This was paradise - and we all agreed: the best vacation we have ever been on.

Tipsy Gecko was a positive rental experience. The house was exactly as advertised, the staff (including chefs) were proactive, positive, and amazing, and the pre-trip communication was incredibly professional and helpful. I fully recommend this place and the Gecko properties (they have others that are different sizes for different groups of people).

The property is perfect and amazing. The staff and support is over the top. This is more a private resort than an simple short term house rental. From laundry done to fresh coconuts cut from the tree and opened for us to the in house chef. We felt more like billionares than normal people.

This is an excellent property for groups of 10 -12 people. Our party of 9 enjoyed the pool, kayaks, paddleboards and daily sunrises over the Caribbean sea.
The property grounds are maintained daily (thank you Isaias) , including removal of any debris washing up on the beach to keep a picture perfect image every day.
Isaias and Mabel ( ma-bel) provided very good local information on local foods/dishes and things to do.
The Kitchen was well stocked with all necessary cooking appliances and utensils - (knives need to be sharpened).
We had Chef cooked meals on 3 of the 7 days - Thank you, Manuel, who went above and beyond to get us lobster tails in addition to the pre-planned meals.
A bonus - Cell phone service available throughout the peninsula - as well as the 50+Mb in-home wifi service.
Will definitely visit again.

Amazing time
Visited Tipsy Gecko for a week with extended family. Eleven of us total with plenty of room for everyone. Great house, great location, and amazing host! Golf cart, pool, hammocks, beach, and dock kept us all entertained . Will be back again.

The only potential downside is the location is appx mins into town but we didn’t find that to be an issue whatsoever.

Beautiful Property that makes family time easy
Beautiful home with excellent amenities. Private pool overlooking your own beach was amazing. Great place for quiet time with the family. Only local excursions are fishing and diving, which we did both, but any cultural or land excursion is roughly a 2-4 hour round trip bus ride. .But if you want a peaceful quiet vacation this is an amazing place. Staff is excellent and very attentive, cleanliness was unmatched as staff was at our disposal, and even did our laundry daily. Chef did a great job at meeting all of our dietary restrictions and was very flexible. Overall amazing week in beautiful setting with no worries.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay at Villa Tipsy Gecko! Our family/friend group of nine stayed for one week. The house was immaculate. Mindy, Mabel and Brenda did a wonderful job! The grounds were maintained every day along with the pool. The meals that were made for us by Miguel for three days (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were scrumptious! Domingo went above and beyond with taking care of us! Mabel was amazing and really took care of us with anything we asked. We felt so at home and boy were we spoiled! We cannot wait to come back!

From the time my family of 8 arrived, we were treated like royalty and the house was a castle! I cannot explain how the whole experience was for my grandkids and my sons and daughter-in-law ‘s. Every one had their own room. Wow!! We were home in Belize. Bob, the owner helped us from the beginning and Javier, Mabel and our chef, Domingo helped us while there. Even when our resident iguana left a mess in the pool, the staff were there immediately and made the pool clean within 20 minutes and every one was back in the pool enjoying again. The peninsula, Placencia, Maya Beach Bistro, the waterfall,..spectacular!!! The house is right on the Caribbean and has its own private pier. You can sit in the pool as well and just stare out at sea. The home is VERY private. The view from our rooms no picture can do justice to. What a way to wake up. I know we will come again. What a real vacation is supposed to be. You have to visit Tipsy Gecko Villa. You will not regret it.
