The room was clean. The queen bed was comfortable. The twin is hard as a rock. The shower is slippery so be careful. There are not adequate window treatments and it’s bright in the room from the streetlights and then the morning sun. The dining area/bathroom area was much cooler temperature wise than the rest of the room. I have stayed in the other rooms at this place before and this is by far my least favorite room.

The room was terribly dirty, the worst I have ever been in my life of traveling. It is really unfortunate for such as historic property. The owners need to recognize this, it is fixable. It is not sustainable, unless there is a change.

We celebrated our 55th anniversary in Nacodoches. The suite we rented was excellent. Might have been a bit easier on us old folks without the stairs, but they and the nicely small downtown area were great exercise. Very clean. Nice fluffy towels. Kitchenette just a few stairs away. (Keurig coffee maker only.) nice balcony for outside relaxing. other than some loud cars and motorcycles it was very quiet, except for the music from BBQ on the corner. other guests were friendly and helpful (only way we found out how to get more towels and TP). Texting to host didn't seem to work. good value. good memories. thanks.

Great history, but horrible communication
Great history, but horrible communication
We booked our stay months ago, knowing it would be a busy weekend in Nac for SFA homecoming. Our plans changed over a week before our arrival and our high school son couldn’t come on the trip because of his commitments at his school. I messaged the owner twice through VRBO to see if we could just stay one night and let them know that there would only be 2 of us. I never received any communication back to either message. So…we made our son miss his commitments and come with us since we were still being charged 2 nights. We arrived late on Saturday after dark. The pathway and porch are not lit up at night to see where to enter. We got into our suite and were only provided 2 towels and 1 washcloth. The room also still had dirty towels in the laundry bin and 2 empty beer cans at the mini fridge. I sent a text to the number provided in the room to ask for more towels so we could shower before bed. We received no response. An hour later (10:30 pm), I texted all 3 emergency numbers. We gave up on the towels and went to bed. I finally received a reply where to get more towels after we went to bed. There are also 2 large and loud dogs fenced at the back of the property. They bark each time you leave or enter the front door.

My son has moved to this area, so will return when I have more to “to play”. Everything went very smoothly.

Staying here was a delight. We had the whole house to ourselves and it was so pleasant sitting on the porch. The history of the town is amazing.
