About this house rental
Single family home is one of the best and most unique properties in all of Broadkill! Beachfront that is so close to the water, an ocean buoy washed up on the property during the 1962 Ash Wednesday Hurricane and owners have turned it into a custom-built observation platform, now a great place to store beach chairs solely for your use. This property takes advantage of numerous direct Delaware Bay and National Wildlife Refuge views with recently added beach facing, living room-wide, double French doors overlooking an elevated and expansive new deck for taking in the best views of the Bay, the stars, lighthouses, and morning dolphins. Sunrise out front and sunsets out back, where the National Wildlife Refuge makes for ever-changing sunsets! Soak in all nature has to offer, including breathtaking sunrise and sunset views from every bedroom.
The open floor plan on the second level includes the living, dining and kitchen spaces as well as one bedroom, a bonus room with a queen bed and two full bathrooms. There is an additional sleeping space off of the master bedroom with queen sofa bed in an all-season room, a great spot to take-in the evening reflections off the canal of the wildlife refuge and all its wildlife. The great blue heron typically takes breakfast off the property here in the canal each morning. The Osprey in the platform nest visible in the rear of the property is currently raising young. It’s truly a special environment – where the wide-open views are the priority, and you don’t see neighbors from the main living area while taking it all in.
The top floor (accessible by a spiral staircase) features two additional bedrooms and one full bathroom. The ground level has a newly renovated game room for your entertainment which includes a wet bar, wine fridge, stand-alone freezer, foosball table, Thomas the Train table, play kitchen and more, something for all ages.
This large property spans both sides of Bayshore Drive, creating a very private setting for larger gatherings, it is the Bayfront lot in front with exclusive private beach path and the canal front lot out back with direct canal access. The rear of the property overlooks the wildlife refuge with private and direct access to the canal via two docks for crabbing or fishing. Easily hand-launch a kayak, paddleboard, or hand launched small boat/watercraft (no more than a 9HP engine) from the private concrete launch-ramp (only one in Broadkill) for a day of fun up and down the tidal-canal, with access to Lewes and Broadkill river via water. Outdoor shower. Lots of parking on paved driveway/rear parking lot with a rare large outdoor yard, great for gatherings.
Nearby main street and historic towns of Milton, Lewes, Rehoboth and Dewey Beach offer quaint shops, diverse restaurants and breweries.

Reviewer Comments:
The vacation rental was gorgeous! Plenty of space, open and great for hanging out with the family. The large gray stairs made it easy for people to walk up, while avoiding the spiral staircases. The handicapped bathroom ( with bars and a higher toilet) was helpful. My son throughly enjoyed the playroom and the outdoor swing. The beach access was close and private. Overall it was beautiful views and a lovely stay.

Beautiful setting! Out the back door was kayaking, crabbing and beautiful views of nature preserve full of wildlife. Out the front is a beach and beautiful bay views . Your hardest decision will be whether to sit on the front or back deck!

Fantastic Property
We completely enjoyed our stay at this location. Clean and spacious accommodations with plenty of amenities. Our grandson enjoyed the lower level that was filled with toys and trains! Beautiful view from the balcony of the Bay and the canal. Had the beach to ourselves with a private entry. Will definitely book again.
