My wife and I stayed a week and felt right at home. Great location as a base for exploration around Waikiki and the Island. Rented a car for the week and the added parking spot and elevator direct to floor was very helpful and easy in and out with the provided access card. Great sunset views from the 15th floor. Highly recommended!

My wife and I make the Labor Day Holiday weekend our annual “staycation” weekend. The accommodations provided by Chris and Kiersten did not disappoint. The unit was clean, tastefully decorated, convenient all while providing incredible sunset views from the lanai. Our hosts were super and communicated with us perfectly. We highly recommend them and their property!

Overall, this worked out well for us. We were able to walk where we wanted to go. The owners did an excellent job giving directions for checkin/out and responded quickly to questions. We did not use the kitchen because we didn't need to. Both bathroom and kitchen need updating. The free, secure parking was a nice perk!

This property is the best location - close enough to walk downtown, but not in the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Great view from the balcony. Clean and well kept. Had everything we needed. Owners are fantastic. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Looking for a stay in paradise without signing over your firstborn? Though not directly on Waikiki Beach, this property is just a hop, skip, and a coconut's throw from the beach (You can walk there). In addition, it is within walking distance of many of the wonderful restaurants as well as about 30 minutes (traffic is a beast) from Pearl Harbor and other great tourist attractions. Best of all, you can have beachfront luxury without the beachfront price tag—think half the cost of those fancy neighbors.
The balcony views? Simply breathtaking. Picture this: your morning coffee with the ocean playing peekaboo through the palm trees, and the sun setting like it’s auditioning for a postcard. Oh, and did I mention there’s parking included? A rare find in these parts—no need to sell a kidney for a parking spot.
Most importantly for us Floridians, there was air conditioning in the room. It does take it a bit to cool off to our liking but it was comfortable.
In short, this property has the location, the views, and the wallet-friendly vibe. If you want Waikiki magic without the Waikiki price, this is the spot. Aloha, savings! 🌴

Place clean, included extras such as beach chairs, umbrellas, coffee.i loved there was a small ladder so it was easier to get into bed. I am short! Parking was a great option! Great to have laundry available on same floor and Chris left laundry pods and dryer sheets.Bed very comfortable, towels nice and plenty available! Nice to have lanai, enjoyed breakfast outside.Enjoyed Goofy’s nearby Restuarant…Great AC, much appreciated.! Great to have kitchen! Thank you!

Clean, pretty cozy condo with beautiful harbor view. We had a rainbow over the harbor almost every morning when having a breakfast on balcony🌈.
The owner was caring and helpful with good communication.
The condo is located between Ala moana shopping center and waikiki shopping area. We had a rental car and the place is convenient to go out with free parking. It is much quieter than than center of waikiki beach and you can enjoy the pool and Hilton lagoon in just a few min walk.
We’d like to come back soon!

Amazing views and location. Also parking included which is a big plus. We would definitely stay here again.

The view is amazing. Getting in was easy with clear instructions from owner. The parking pass was so valuable. The room is well stocked with a few games, books, beach towels and chairs. We didn't use the kitchen for cooking but it looked like it had lots of helpful utensils etc. However, if you're looking for updated spacious kitchen area, though this might be functional, this isn't updated or spacious. Because we didn't plan on cooking meals, it was fine for us. I found the lockbox for the parking fob difficult to open, but then I'm old. Nice hotel/resort area as well. I gave this a 4 for cleanliness because I'm a neat freak and always feel there is room for improvement. Overall, we had a great week here.

Adorable condo in a fabulous location. Overlooks the Gilligan’s Island harbor, walkable to sandy swimming beaches, surf spots, kiddy lagoons, and a 20-25 minute walk from the heart of Waikiki. AC unit was a life saver after being in the heat all day. Comfy bed and fully equipped kitchen (but we didn’t cook anything). It’s a studio setup so might be ok for more than two if you are super comfy sharing small spaces, but we loved it for just the two of us. Waking up to the sights of the boat masts, surfers, paddlers, and sailers was perfection.
Hosts were quick to respond when I needed them and even sent a local friend to deal with the evidence of pigeons left on the balcony. Now there’s a bucket and brush too so that made it easy to keep clean when needed. 😎
I’d stay here again. Thank you for wonderful memories!

If you are planning a visit to Honolulu staying at the ILIKAI is a must!! This apartment was absolutely perfect. Not a detail was overlooked. The room is a great size and comfortably furnished. Looking over the marina from the lanai while sipping on some POG or drinking your coffee starts your day in a relaxing way. Later that evening be sure to catch a glorious Hawaiian sunset from the same place. You can’t beat the location for exploring the island and Waikiki beach is only a few minutes walk. All this and the reserved included parking makes this the absolute BEST place for the money while vacationing on Oahu. We will certainly be back!!! Mahalo for a magical week!

We had a wonderful stay in Honolulu. We love the location of the Ilikai because of its convenience and that it is at the outside edge of the craziness of Waikiki. The view and sunsets were spectacular.

Out host was wonderful, we arrived a little early and we were able to check in, no problem!! Gorgeous view, too cloudy to see the sunsets but I can see how this is the place to watch!

We found the property as advertised. Everything was clean and everyone including guest and residents were nice and accommodating The staff was great. The elevators have a few issues from time to time but nothing that can’t be handled. Great shops and restaurants within walking distance and the North shore is an easy 1 hour drive. The owners were quick to help us with any needs or questions we had. By the way great views morning moon and night. We would definitely stay here again if we were ever in Honolulu.

We spent a wonderful week at Ilikai. Check-in was easy and we were able to access the unit a couple of hours early which gave us time to go shopping at Foodland Farms (about a mile away). The kitchen is well-equipped with what appear to be many new appliances that are easy to use and clean - especially the pots, pans, and sharp knives.
My husband especially liked the conveniences downstairs - coffee shop, ice cream parlor, and mini-market where he could get a newspaper every day. I, on the other hand, enjoyed a relaxing and restful vacation with leisurely breakfasts on the lanai and beautiful sunsets every evening.
Most of the time we had the door to the lanai open so we could enjoy the tropical breezes, but we used the air conditioner at night because I found it too warm for sleeping. The AC was customizable to settings that worked great for us.
Thanks Chris & Keirsten's for providing a wonderful condo for us to enjoy!

Chris great to work with , parking huge plus location - none better 😊

Worst thing about staying here is that you'll have the hawaii-5-0 theme in your head for much of the stay.
On a serious note, nice condo in the heart of Waikiki. Ilikai has been around since 1964, so it is an older place, nothing wrong with that.
Had no issues at all, communication with owner was clear and concise. Walking distance to ala moana mall, where we enjoyed several mai tai's at mai tai's bar.

I have booked rentals with VRBO for many, many years and I’m happy to say this condo is in my top 5. The photos on the site are spot-on accurate, the communication with the owners was fast and friendly, and the location of the property was pretty much perfect. Waikiki Beach is extremely walkable and quick trip shopping within the Ilikai and across the street was very convenient. I appreciated that everything in the condo was in top working condition (even sharp kitchen knives!), the towels in the bathroom were plentiful as well as items for the beach that are available for use. I even found a yoga mat in the main closet – enjoyed doing morning yoga with the sound of the ocean and tropical breeze coming through the wide open balcony door. Needless to say, I would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you Keirsten and Chris for the opportunity to stay at such a lovely place during my (first) trip to Hawaii.

This was ideal for the quick trip I had to make. But after staying I could see a longer stay based on the location, quality and price.

We loved the condo and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We thought that the fact that my daughter and I had both caught colds would dampen our spirits and throw a wrench in our vacation—it might have altered some of our plans but we still had a fabulous time. The condo was outfitted with everything we needed to feel at home; a well-stocked kitchen, adequate linens and towels, and appliances that worked very well. I thought the bed was super comfortable. The owner was very accommodating and responsive to our questions and it was a pleasure corresponding with her/them. We are already considering a return visit to this condo soon! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful week at this property. The view is perfect for taking in the sunsets. Everything you need is here making it possible to stay without a car. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Our stay at the Ilikai was amazing! The view was spectacular and centrally located right downtown on the beach. There was a fantastic coffee shop in the building which was nice to have and a lot of great restaurants in the area. An unexpected bonus was the parking spot for our rental car as they had just acquired one in the building, that made our stay even easier as we did not have to worry about where to park. A stay here will not disappoint!

Spent a beautiful week in Honolulu at Chris’ place at the Ilikai, great location with views over the harbor, beach and several surf breaks. The condo was clean, nicely furnished, check-in process couldn’t have been easier and Chris was always helpful with tips and ideas for a great stay in HI. Would absolutely rent this condo again - Mahalo!

This property featured beautiful sunsets over the marina and on the ocean. Comfortable bed. Hot showers. Small but functional kitchen for our cooking needs. Convenient onsite parking so we could come and go as we wished in our rental car. It fit our needs well.

Really nice owner, easy communication and fast responses. This hotel is old with the AC in the wall loud when working, so if you are sensitive to the noise while sleeping it would be disturbing, mattress is comfortable, linens soft and good quality.

My opinions/experience as a mobility challenged but young at heart senior:
CONS: 1) Air contitioner maintenance is annoying and not discussed till you get check in info. Owners did accommodate my physical limitations and arranged for someone to handle for me. For able bodied person, prob minimal issue.
2) Noisy location which honestly is to be expected given it's Waikiki and bustling harbor, which I didn't consider prior to booking. Not much peaceful serenity, but convenient and massive sunset views.
3) No bellman/bag service before 9am or after 8pm. That's a Building thing, not a Unit thing. I was able to make special arrangements for my 5:30am departure tho.
4) Bed is comfy but high (for short or disabled). Owners went out of their way to provide excellent sturdy stepstool for me, but still it was awkward getting into bed.
5) Unit was well equipped, but everything in kitchen quite vintage.
PROS: 1) Convenient building location and amenities, with Hertz/Dollar rental on site.
2) Valet parking while pricey ($45/night) was excellent, very quick to bring car up.
3) Sunset views are MASSIVE and xtra pretty with harbor in foreground.
4) Plenty of comfy seating on balcony to enjoy watching surfers, paddleboarders, boats, and planes!
5) OUTSTANDING prompt, kind, courteous and helpful communications with Owners!

Thanks for great communication.

This unit was as listed. The view was nice. The lobby of the hotel was nice but the outside and upper hallways were dated. The location is in the midst of a "big city feel". If you like a lot of people and that vibe, this will be great for you. A couple of things we didn't prefer was the AC was old and with the huge windows, it was hot in this unit when we arrived. I would guess the owner is not in the state so I can understand not running it all the time if no one is staying however I wasn't sure I was going to be able to sleep with it being so warm and I was certainly concerned about sleeping on the futon to be near the air. But as it worked out, it cooled off just enough to sleep in the bed. Also, you had to empty the water from the AC unit each day as it pooled up outside on the balcony from the high humidity. That wasn't preferable. The beach towels definitely need to be replaced as they were very worn and thin. One other suggestion is the ice cube trays could have been filled with water so that we could have had ice for our stay. They were in the freezer empty. The beach was very busy but there were plenty of other beaches within driving distance if you prefer a quieter scene.

The view was amazing to wake up to every day! The location was the most convenient and perfect in relation to all the local spots. Our hosts even accommodated us with early check in which was the biggest plus! I can’t say enough positive things! Even though the place was a little dated, everything was functional and worked perfectly for us. Great first VRBO experience in Hawaii!

I read all the reviews on this property and I would say they are pretty spot on. The communication with Kiersten (Josh) was friendly, prompt and so helpful. The condo is dated and not fancy, but it is clean and welcoming. The bed is extremely comfortable and my adult son slept on the futon and said it was great. The kitchen is well equipped (we didn’t use anything but the fridge) and there were added touches like a few laundry pods, a deck of cards and a few beach chairs and a cooler. I can’t express enough how good the view is. This is our first trip to Waikiki and it left a huge impression, there was so much to watch from the balcony and it easily holds 4-5 chairs. We are in a fancier hotel downtown Waikiki for the rest of our trip with “ocean views” and it does not even come close to the views from this condo. If your goal is to be on water, with show-stopping views this is the place for you and as long as you know it’s not a 5* resort your stay will be amazing!

My family and I just returned home from spending 10 days on Oahu in this condo on the 15th floor of the Ilikai hotel. First thing that grabbed our attention was the view. Amazing!
The condo itself was clean and well appointed. The kitchen itself is not new but everything worked, and together with the condo as a whole, had a definite retro vibe that harkens back to the original “Hawaii Five-0,” where the hotel was prominently featured. It’s charming. The location is also ideal. The heart of Waikiki is a half a mile in one direction and the Ala Moana Mall is less than a half a mile in the other direction. Beach access is a short walk behind the hotel, and the two pools were convenient when we didn’t feel like getting sand between our toes and in our bathing suits. The condo was a perfect place for us to have Portuguese sausage and eggs for breakfast, was a good location for us to leave from to explore the island, and get a good shower and a good night’s sleep before the next day’s adventure.
